Evan sits on the hill, taking a nap. His hair is a wet mess.
All of a sudden, a swarm of monsters appears, along with a satyr and a kid with blood dripping from his head.
"Woah!" Evan yells, sitting up. He races down the hill, his swords crackling with storms.
The kid with blood dripping down his head yells “Do you know where I can go that’s safe?!?” While fighting off monsters.
"Yeah! Get up the hill! I'll hold them off!"
“Great! Thanks!” As the kid runs up the hill, his sword gains an aura of shadow, and as he kills the last enemy, a small swarm of undead rise, helping Ethan. All of a sudden, a symbol, made of shadows, appears above his head, in the form of a skull with a crown upon it.
Evan grins. "You okay?"
“Yeah, I think so. What’s this?” The kid points to the symbol above his head.
“Uh-info check. What do you know about the Greek Gods?”
“Oh my god EVERYTHING. I used to spend so many hours looking at those mythology books, and I’m guessing that symbol means either hades, god of the dead, or maybe some obscure god I’m forgetting? Could be nemesis or Nike too.”
“There are a ton of options!” Evan agrees enthusiastically. “But basically, these symbols are claiming. They sorta mean… you’re their kid.” He pauses for a second. “There are a ton of death and shadow gods. It could be Hades, the most obvious choice, Thanatos, another death god, maybe even Nyx or a child of hers.” He spits this all out quickly.
“Oooooo fun! Do I get like power thingamagigies?”
“Um-yeah!” Evan says, relieved that for once, someone has not freaked out. “Death powers are very cool… shadow travel, necromancy, death touch… I used to have some cool powers but after I lost my ability to fly… they kinda got weaker too.”
“Oh, are you another hades kid? Or maybe Zeus or a nature god’s kid?”
