A young boy of about fifteen runs up to the school, scampering over the steps and doing a large jump down the steps. He does this again and again, getting all the energy out of himself, and smiles. His hair is caramel brown, his skin a light shade of cocoa, and his eyes are warm and amber. He isn’t wearing the school uniform yet, instead he wears a t-shirt and a tattered pair of jeans.
A 13 year old boy is hopping off of a boat. He crossed the lake in front of the school. “Hi, I’m Elias.”
He nods to the boy, smiling widely. “Quincy.”
Elias sticks his hand out. Obviously hoping for a handshake.
Quincy shakes it energetically. He smiles again.
“Come on, let’s go inside. There is about an hour till sorting.”
“Sorting? My parents didn’t tell me much about this school… what’s sorting?”
“This is a school for mythical creatures. You will get sorted into one of the halls.”
