The chances of a better roll are harder to compute because you could roll some 6s and 7s and still come out with a higher total.
I hope you've been good to those dice. They sound like real keepers.
How many D&D dice do you have? I'm sure I have something between 60-100 D&D dice. I have 5 "special" sets for when I play as a bard. These are dice I hand out when I "give" bardic inspiration. It is a physical reminder that time is running when you get it.

70-ish? Now I'm thinking about counting mine. Just starting off, I have two sets of 7 dice, a white set and a black set that I bought when my son started playing. Then I bought a set that looks like bone. Then I bought two or three other sets of "Gem Dice", the kind in those funny other shapes.
So at that point I have 7 x 6 = 42 dice. Whoa, maybe I don't want to know. Because at that point I bought the 5 sets to be my special Bard dice, so that's another 35 dice. I think I sat on this for a little while.
Then I wanted a new set with 2-d20s and 4-d6s, so that's 11 more dice. I "might" have more than one set of those. Then I became a DM and I saw an add for d24s and d30s, and "special d4s" (d12s w/ the numbers 1-4 repeated). I bought 8 of the special d4s. Then I found a place that would sell me a set w/ d3, d4, d5, d6, d7, d8, d9, d10, d12, d14, d16, d20, d24, d30, d36 (15 dice) so I bought two sets, and two extra d6s for that super set. So, yea, that sounds like about 60 dice, right? ... Oh, and then there is the set of metal dice.
Zoiks! 42 + 35 + 11 + 8 + 33 + 7 = 136. "Hello, my name is MusicScout, and I'm a Dice Dragon."
