So I am planning my character for a new campaign and trying to think ahead. Sadly campaign wise I don't have to much information to build off as it will be homebrew.
I do know I want go STR based kobold paladin, probably spear and shield. Small races have disadvantage with heavy weapons or I would go halberd.
I am just unsure as to want oath be fun and I am also thinking take 4 levels rune knight fighter but that could drop or change depending on how the campaign goes.
Any ideas for why a kobold may be a paladin, what oaths would Make since, and any other ideas as how to flesh them out.
If you are playing a kobold who serves a dragon, they could be:
Oath of Conquest: aiming to conquer the lands they travel, all in the name of their draconic master
Oath of Vengeance: someone has wronged their master, and they have taken it upon themselves to exact revenge
Alternatively, if they used to work for an evil dragon and have since left their service, they could be an Oath of Redemption looking to right the wrongs they made while in service.
They could be a Paladin in service to Bahamut; perhaps a knight of the dragonborn Platinum Order inspired them or took them on as a squire. As for Oaths, maybe they can be a merciful, kind-hearted and forgiving kobold with a love for life, cheer and song. Maybe they could follow the Oath of the Ancients.

Why would a kobold be much different than any other race, in terms of the oath it would take and it’s motivation?
But really, it will likely come down a lot to the world you are playing in, and how kobolds act in it, and how they are treated by the other races.
