Hi all! Does anybody has some tips when multiclassing an oath of the ancients paladin with a few levels of druid? Any good synergies between the 2 or would you advise against it?
What level of play are you at and expecting to actually reach?
What Druid Circle did you plan to take?
What are your other party members?
What sort of stats do you have?
Multiclassing is generally a contextual question so more details are important, but in a vacuum druid paladin isn't a typical synergistic choice. I could see some benefit to the idea of being able to divine smite while wildshaped, but you sound like your doing the opposite where you are going for a druid dip instead. Oath of the Ancients ends up one of the best archtypes if you can hit level 7 and your dm actually throws spellcasters at you with how much damage mitigation you can do for yourself and any friendlies with you.
This really depends on what you want to do and what you're primary class is.
If you're primary is Druid I'd advise against it. You'd loose alot of spell slots then would be worth it.
If you're primary is Paladin I'd take no more than 2 lvls. Now this depends if what you get for 2 lvls of druid benefits what you want to do. But you'd get a 6th lvl spell slot for this.
Now after deciding the what direction you're taking you're stats come into question as well. It may be possible to do one well. I'd have to mess around with stats and know what and why you wanted to do this to see if it's really viable or effective.

Questions that matter,
What level of play are you at and expecting to actually reach?
What Druid Circle did you plan to take?
What are your other party members?
