Hi! I have a Hexblade Paladin (7 Paladin Oath of the Crown/3 Warlock) about to level. I have the problem right now that she's going down every single fight and I'm trying to make her a bit tankier, so I'm trying to come up with what feat/ASI I should take with that level 8 Paladin. Her current stats are 14, 14, 14, 8, 11, 18 and she has a max of 75 HP and 18 AC. I already have her in Adamantine scale mail armor to negate crits, and she has a shield so you can see the issue I'm having with her. Any opinions?
Shield Master would be a pretty decent feat to add, it potentially stops damage when making a Dexterity Saving Throw to take half damage, this could be helpful and make her a little bit more tankier. Or if you want more HP, add the Tough feat. If you want to go with ASI then I would but them into Constitution if you want more HP.

REMEMBER: Wizards Of The Coast does not own DDB, they are two different companies. When you buy a physical book, WotC receives the money you bought it for, not DDB and vice versa. If you want a digital key to get an online book for free because you have the hardcopy book then DDB makes no money because you don't buy off DDB you buy off WotC, so please stop making threads about this issue. DDB needs money to continue helping people and servers aren't cheap.
Phantom offers some great suggestions. I'd also recommend taking a long look at plate armor, because having a 20 AC is much better than an 18 that negates crits in my opinion.
Boost your strength so you can get heavy armor. Then get it. Like eddy says, higher AC is better than the crit negation, and will do more for you than anything else.
Your saving throws should already be pretty darn impressive thanks to your Aura of Protection so I'd say that Shield Master is almost wasted. You already have good armour and the way 5E works you don't really tank with AC, you tank with hit points. I'd say take the Tough Feat if you want to be really good or boost you Con if you feel that you fail concentration spells too often (which shouldn't be that often considering your +6).
Personally I'd go for the Tough Feat, especially if you plan on using Divine Allegiance a lot.

This. I have a hard time seeing how you're getting rocked so badly. You could upgrade to half-plate to eke out a little more AC. You've got to be eating the majority of the attacks that your party is taking, and they are not doing nearly enough killing while you do it.
Are you concentrating on a spell? if not, you could try shield of faith to raise your AC to 20. If you're getting swarmed, you can try using the dodge action to make all the attacks against you have disadvantage. Dodge isn't very fun, but neither is getting your face ripped off every combat. The sentinel feat would allow you to make an OA (using your reaction) on anything in range that doesn't attack /you/, so you could dodge. If they attack you, you're doing your job. If they attack someone next to you, you OA and smite them and punish them for not attacking you. *shrug* the situation you describe is hard to understand, you should not be getting beat down every combat. What the heck is the rest of your team doing while you're getting rocked?

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
So you have two choice that should be rolled into both. You need tough feat and you need to increase you're AC.
Generally playing a Paladin in Modules I have an AC 20 between lvl 2 and lvl 5. By lvl 9 I generally have an AC of 25 with shield of Faith. All with the tough feat and Resilient (con) as my feats. Very rarely does my main Paladin go down. Infact our Barbarian would generally go down first.
Unlike what some people said as a Paladin ranking is equal part AC and HP. You arent a Barbarian and dont have resistance you need both to be high. Keep in mind given you're level any Barbarian I've made has had that AC with no armor and way more health. I say this to showcase you need a far higher AC. Its gonna be far more important as you multiclass into warlock and will never have the same HP as a pure Paladin or a Paladin/Cleric, fighter, or Barbarian. AC is you're friend use it.

Partway through the quest for absolute truth.
