Looked up the pictures of glaive, and yklwa and they looked similar-ish, so I sport a 2handed sword, glaive, yklwa, shortsword and dagger which are all varying size differences of the same weapon, cos I thought that was thematic and I liked the 2d6, d10, d8, d6, d4 spread :) Normally I use the glaive though because reach on a mount, ride up slash ride away and no opportunity attacks, skirmisher type.
Glaive hands down. The reach just plays too nicely with the AoO features from Vengeance, and with the Sentinel/Polearm Master feats.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
Halberd and Bardiche. Got an OoV Paladin who will be mounted. Already have Polearm Master and plan is to have Sentinel and Mounted Combatant feats as well. Will definitely be a good one to play
From experience, I can say that using a Polearm with PAM is great. Adding in Sentinel if you want some stickiness along with the extra damage is also great. Evil Dragon tries to fly away and you make his movement 0? Golden.
With a PAM build, I highly recommend you look into casting Divine Favor occasionally. I found the extra 1d4 radiant damage on 2-3 weapon attacks just adds up really well for a plus one spell. It is not worth it without the bonus action attack, though. And if you cast it while sitting on your Find Steed, and then you use the Steed to attack, she gets the 1d4 radiant also. It is a very fun build. We basically duo'ed a Young Green Dragon that way (other members kept missing or having spells resisted).
Between that and smites, I do not recommend GWM with the PAM+Sentinel build. You are already doing enough damage with this and your smites and the +10 is just putting blue on black, it is not necessary. And you will want the stat bumps to be well rounded.
The downside is that with certain DMs, you will not find any interesting magical polearms beyond just the +1, +2, etc. But with swords, they will drop flame tongues, sun blades, and holy avengers like rain.

Greetings,
Vengeance Paladin is as the other poll indicates one of the archetypes we love.
Is yours equipped with a Greatsword/Greataxe or with a Halberd/Glaive and why?
Est Sularus oth Mithas
Every polearm is either two-handed or versatile so... Yes?
Thanks for the remark
changed the title.
