You find yourselves at the local tavern, "The Meady Ochre" taking a much need rest from you resent exploits. After a several chugs of ale, you took a particular interest at a job offering posted in the tavern's board. The barkeep, noticing your interest, informs you that Glowkindle, the owner of The Wizard's Tower Brew Co. is in dire need of a band of adventurers to help with a "situation." He gives you simple directions on how to get there.
You follow the directions you’ve been given, trudging maybe a mile or two out of town along an old dirt road that winds its way up a low hill. As you near the top a large stone building comes into view, lanked by a couple of barns. By the door is a brightly painted sign that reads ‘The Wizard’s Tower Brewing Co. For the Freshest Pint in the Realm!’
Uald stared at the brightly painted sign and sighed, "I am surrre it is not Masterr RRRolant's fine ale, but in a lant such as this it will habe to do." Uald was aching for a good pint, or a nice wine, anything that would remind him of the fine wines he tasted in the Sunite temples back home in Amn. He rubbed his finely trimmed beard between his well manicured fingertips, more out of habit then any actual need to think anything over, "I wonderrr what sorrrt of man this Glowkindle is, I might hhabe asket the barrrtenderrr but the thrrrill of adbenturrre drrrobe me away too quickly" Uald moved a bit uncomfortably beneath his armor, and he could feel the heaviness of his weapons and shield about his body. While accustom to them, he also felt the yearning to release himself from them, so as to reflect his Goddess's own beauty through his comely form.
Uald was just about to knock when he looked back instinctively down the road and saw others approaching, "HHail frrriends, may the beauty within the day lif yourrr souls"
Theranin Riverwood eyes over the work listings and notices one stand out in particular. It would seem someone is in a dire need of assistance and is looking for a group of adventurers to aid them in their time of need. Thinking that this could be his chance to a life of respect and prove to himself that he can be what everyone back home thinks he is: A hero.
After the trek to the brewing company, Theranin makes his way up to the property, shielding his eyes from the sunlight on his way up the hill. He approaches a Half Elf at the door as he calls out to Theranin. Normally a solo act, he is reluctant to trust others outside of his community, especially when it comes to danger. Nonetheless, Theranin places his hands by his side and bows,
"Greetings, friend. Are you also here for Glowkindle?"
He then takes a position next to his new acquaintance and notices a couple more making their way to the property. Theranin sighs internally.
Uald nods and returns Theranin's bow with a folded arm across his hip, "I am indeet, I am hhopeful to taste this Glowkindle's fine ale this day"
Uald stands back to his full 5'11" height, his green eyes meeting Theranin's from beneath his short brown hair, a smile crosses his face showing his nearly perfect teeth. From the looks of it Uald is very well manicured, hair freshly cut, clothes clean, armor shined to nearly a fault especially in the high sun.
Almost as if to contrast his appearance, Theranin brushes a bit of dirt and dust from his garments as they stand in waiting. He is not nearly as well kept as Uald, but nothing wretched either. He prefers simpler things and stays true to himself, judging others by their actions over their words or appearances.
"Perhaps after we aid this Glowkindle, he'll be kind enough to share some with you, then."
"If not then at least allow me to purrrchase some" Uald does find Theranin's dusty and dirty garments to be a bit of a shame, he sometimes wishes others would take as much pride in their beauty as he did. Afterall, if everyone were as clean and kept as he then the world would be a much more beautiful place for everyone.
Aldagrim bobbling up the path almost aimlessly looking for the brewery when he notices two elves, or one shiny elf and a would be elf standing outside the place. Pulling out his lute he begins to skip as he plays and sings
"Hi elf and would be elf, are you here for the quest? I must say one looks his best, but the other may need blessed."
Puts the lute on his back and puts out a hand, standing a mere 3'5" looking almost like a child, "I'm Aldagrim Adelard Balbo, here to join your cause. And rest assured that you won't find another as excited to be at a brewery as I. Though I should probably take a break after my last exploit."
As the Halfling bobs his way up to the forming group, Theranin shoots a look toward Uald, gauging his reaction. He then greets Aldagrim's outstretched hand with his.
"A man does not just drink ale, he drinks in his surroundings, as well. Let us hope your excitement is not misplaced."
Sylorj after getting the directions to the adventure offering heads out to see who else had taken the offering to help. Sylorj trudges up the hill slowly not really in a hurry, as she nears the top she spots two elf’s and an halfling. In a slightly deeper voice for a woman sylorj waves to the other's “hey, I guess you all signed up for the job as well. I believe we’ll all work greatly together, especially with the halflings cheerfulness”. Sylorj reaches the top of the hill scanning over over one with a smile.
"I prreferr to prreparre for the best, that way I can get the most enjoyment out of life." Uald says with a grin, "I am Uald, protector of beauty and love in service to our Lady Sune"
While standing outside, you hear the sound of locks and bolts being unlocked. After a few short seconds the door opens and a fairly young gnome emerges. He sports quite an impressive beard, he also wears a white shirt with tight black trousers help up by green suspenders.
"I thought I heard voices outside..." He looks at you quite confusedly "Oh," the young gnomes face lights up "You are here for the job, right?."
Uald turns back to face the gnome, a bright smile on his face, "Why yes, I saw a posting in the tavern and decided to lend you a hand; and can I just say that is an impressive beard you are sporting there sir"
Sylorj looks first at adalgrim “oh right, my name is sylorj” keeping it short sylorj look now at the young gnom “yes we are here for the job, but maybe a little fine ale? to go along with The instructions of what we are to do today”
Theranin turns to the sound of the door creaking open and spots the short Gnome on the other side of the doorway.
"Yes, I believe we've all gathered for the listing. A pretty eager bunch you've managed to scrounge up. May we come inside and speak about what this might entail? A few of us are weary from traveling."
"Most excellent!" claps in excitement "My name is Glowkindle, owner of The Wizard's Tower Brewing Co." The young gnome stands proudly "Please do come in, we'll go over the details after a few drinks."
"This way" he gestures as he walks forward "I have a small corner bar up ahead" smiles excitedly.
The entire building is infused with the smell of hops and beer, but is clean and well-organized. A few humans and halflings, dressed much as their boss, wander about, checking on barrels and vats of bubbling liquid with no sense of urgency.
Each of you grabbed a wooden chair and sat around the table. Glowkindle handed each of you a pint of Tashalar Pale Ale, and then sat at the opposite site of the table.
Looks at you quite excitedly, then asks "So... tell me a bit about yourselves?"
Theranin grabs a chair and takes his seat at the table across from Glowkindle. As the pint is handed to him, he sets the glass down in front of him and nudges it off to the side slightly, as he has no interest in such things.
"Myself? I am Theranin Riverwood. I harbor a terrible event from my childhood inside myself and am on a personal quest of atonement. You are the first in a long line of heroic deeds I have in front of me."
