Hello, fellow peopleens! I'm looking for 5 or 6 players to run a play-by-post game called It Should Be Fun Outside That Window or S.B.F.O.T.W for short. It'll be more RP than combat but I'll still have some combat in there. I'll be expecting some more experienced players but not crazy experienced play-this-everyday kind of player.
Follow all basic rules, be respectful, yadda yadda. It should be a simple, 5e campaign.
I do allow all races and classes (In rulebooks respectfully); Multiclassing exists, and we will be starting at level 3 for a fun and easygoing campaign. I can be on almost always but if we have a schedule we can deal with the schedule (hopefully). Just remember to have fun and enjoy the game! :)

Name Tom Phoenix
Race Warforged (skinned as human/warforged)
Class Ranger Fey Wanderer
Backstory Tom Brook was an artist, a peasant boy in love with his muse, a mysterious girl named Clara. When he turned 18, he hoped to propose, but to his surprise, she led him through the woods to a giant vineyard. It was then that he learned she was the only daughter of the richest family for miles. As the star-crossed lovers stood there, they were set upon by dogs patrolling the grounds. Clara was left untouched, but Tom's body was torn asunder. They were brought in, where Clara died, unwilling to go on without her true love. Tom, however, somehow clung to life. He was nursed back to health by a cleric/artificer who toiled for months until he finally rebuilt the right half of Tom's body from metal, clockwork and magic in a never seen before feat. The artificer dubbed him Tom Phoenix, for he had been reborn. Tom was accepted at his village by his parents, but the villagers treated him like a freak. Eventually, Tom set out into the world in search of a new muse.
Specific Details I wrote this character sheet up a while ago, so I do have some specific details (names etc) should the DM want them. I am more than happy to work to fit things in though :) There's a bit of homebrew, most of it in an attempt to nerf the warforged race a bit and some for fun. I will gladly change any of this if DM asks though!
Great characters so far! antideri, your character sheet is not really working with my computer; I think it might be because it is a google drive, it would be nice to import that sheet into dndbeyond unless you don't have Fey Wanderer and/or Warforged race and subclass that is! We will find a way, either way that is.

Backstory: Originally made to be a flesh golem, forced to do the chores of it's master. It was an accident that Sanctity 4 was intelligent and able to think outside of it's commands. They knew it is not the way to live, but cannot go outside of it's orders. Instead of doing exactly what the master wanted, they did what the master asked to the letter to the annoyance of it's master. When Sanctity 4 found an odd ring that the master threw away, it hid it from the master to tinker it. When Sanctity 4 did, it unleashed a Djinn. When asked what it wanted, Sanctity replied that it wished that it was free from the master's control. The djinn agreed but in turn, must do whatever possible to free it.
It joined a criminal group that used Sanctity's looks to scare other gangs away and gain favor with it's group. It never liked being used in such a way, so when there was an opportunity elsewhere Sanctity took it.
Specific Details: Looks to be various creatures stitched together into one horrific creature. It hides its face and being as much as possible, knowing that many do not like how it looks. (I always wanted to play an undead creature and this is about as close as I can get without homebrew! )
Backstory: Brenward was an orphan that was taken in by the House of the Darkmoon. The monastery provide services to the various governments and wealthy non-governmental organizations. It was at this point Yarbuk disappeared, but Grudnik started to discover that the things Yarbuk had done, he could now do without him there. Things like moving an object or lighting a torch from a distance. "Forgive the mess, I am trying to regain my sanity again."

Even with the blue lights and streaks of festival traditions, there still is that underlying sense of fear. Fear of another turmoil. Fear of the unknown. Fear of war.
War. What is war but just a bunch of swords and a piece of paraiment? Is it made to hurt? Is it's ending to heal? Either way, battle is over, per se and the happy-go-lucky parties begin.
It is the end of the longer war is history; The Regali's War. It was one of the longest wars in the history of Unquenos, land of ice and snow. And you are a young victim of it. Whatever the circumstance may be, you find yourself in a small village with little people and trade. There is a tavern, a trading square, and some houses around.
"Imagine nerfing wizards so they can't cast ritual spells even if they don't have the prepared AND making it so they can't change their spells after every long rest. Oh yeah, that's my DM..."

"I wanted to say I told you so, but my god wouldn't allow it..."

Grudnik walks across the trading square towards the tavern, his slim frame dressed in his finest clothing with a long jacket and calf high boots keeping him protected from the elements. His red skin looking darker in the feint blue festival lights. His long brown hair swept back behind his protruding red ears and, as with most hobgoblins, he had two small pointed teeth jutting up from his lower jaw.
The end of war celebrations were a bit strange to him, war being typical in his culture. All hobgoblin children were brought up to become a part of their military. But he hadn’t been back there for some time, and neither would he be welcome if he were to return.
Now he was here and had to make the best of it, and that meant earning coin. Not a likely prospect in this small village, but he needed somewhere to stay on his way to a bigger town or city. Of course he could get lucky and run across a mark, but he wasn’t entirely sure there would be coin paid for bringing in deserters now the war had ended.
He opens the door to the tavern and steps inside....
Inside, at a table now filled with empty plates and mugs, a bugbear is finishing his meal. Stann's large form is covered by sandy fur and scars. Yellow eyes under a heavy brow turn to regard the newcomer, showing no love for his goblin-kin. Amongst the jovial patrons it was impossible the 7' tall brute would escape notice.
This small town was meant to be a quiet place to figure out his next move away from the eyes of his former employer and something about the little hobgoblin didn't sit right.
I have been walking for the better part of the day when I finally see a village up ahead. Like the last village, it is lit brightly with cold blue festival lights. However, this town looks much less lively than the last. I shrug it off, figuring it is probably the beginning of the workweek. Still, the village doesn't look very inspiring, and I consider simply passing it by. However, the bitter wind on my face and the hunger in my stomach convince me otherwise. I draw my cloak closer around my machinery and check my coin purse. 10 gold pieces... Not terrible funding, but it couldn't hurt to bolster it.
The village is empty but for a finely dressed hobgoblin, who makes a beeline for what looks to be the town tavern. I follow, drawn inside by the warm light and the promise of food, drink and conversation. If I'm lucky, I might even find a chance to ply my trade, I think as I step into the tavern.
Grudnik enters the tavern and feels a wall of warmth as the heat from the large fireplace hits him. He looks around to see quite a few tables taken, most likely occupied by locals, and then his gaze lands on a large sandy furred Bugbear. His eyes narrow very slightly as he takes in their scarred form, sat on a table to themselves. In fact they were unsurprisingly surrounded by vacant tables, everyone else in the tavern choosing to keep their distance.
He wanders over to the fire, keeping the bugbear in his peripheral vision. It was unexpected to see another goblinoid here and he couldn't help but wonder what brought them to this village. He extends his hands to the fire to warm them and notices a couple of others enter the tavern after him. Feeling warmer he heads to a table in the corner and sits down, happy to see the bugbear had just eaten. It shouldn't be long before they were asleep, he thought with a wry smile.
Busy night fer a lil town,Stann thought, as more travelers filtered in from the cold. Fishing into his coin purse, he throws the silver down on the table to cover his meals. Reaching down the bugbear collected his back and large hammer off floor before standing up. Not intending on sleeping in the cold Stann moved towards the bar, Odd fer hobgoblin to be alone, 'specially a puny one. He steps around the Genasi on his way way to the barman.

Busy night fer a lil town, Stann thought, as more travelers filtered in from the cold.
