Our adventure has taken us from the jungles of Chult through a planar rift related to a strange artifact hidden in the mysterious mountains known as the Barrier Peaks. By employing the ingenious creations of the fabled gnomish inventor Kwalish, we have traveled not only to a distant place, but to another time.
Oerth (a world in the crystal sphere called Greyspace) is home to a lich whose power will one day span the multiverse and bring a death curse to lands far and wide ad he harvests souls by the millions to fuel his dark magic.
<< This adventure has been underway since August and we've had players come and go. I am looking for 2 or 3 new players right now. At this point you will join as a level 9 character. In civet with any race or class, even homebrew with approval. I should stress 2 things:
1. the module is very exploration oriented. Combat is always an option, but sometimes the slowest and least interesting one.
2. I like to experiment with mechanics to see how it effects the pace of the game and other factors. This can be frustrating for players, but I'm letting you know now. Mostly this relates to initiative, leveling, and magic items. For now, no magic items at character creation. There are plenty in the dungeons but if you have your heart set on something, let me know. This module does a fair job of creating actionable goals that can result in level advancement, so milestone is the method. Initiative is determined in a binary fashion by 2d6 roll for opposing sides after actions have been declared and attacks/damage rolled. Initiative within each group is at the DMs discretion. I feel this system is fast, cinematic and creates tension in combat.
If you can post at least once a day, that would be ideal. I typically try for 2-3 daily, but it's not guaranteed.>>
**Generate scores however you like, if rolling, drop 1s. Post name race class and 1 interesting thing about your character. You are level 9. I'll say it again: exploration and role play dominate this module. If that doesn't interest you, you probably won't love this game.**
Ill probably choose players by Friday night. Good luck.
Ernest - Human (standard) - Druid (land - mountain) - folk hero
I’m not certain how to add to your party, but I figure Ernest can be a local, doing his part to try to protect against the ravages of the lich. He’s just one man, and can only do so much, so he hopes to increase the weight of his actions by finding like minded people.
Varis started as a common criminal working the streets. Brought to the attention of the Thieves Guild, he was an apt pupil and rising thief. He was a favorite of wizards and others seeking to find and liberate arcane secrets from their rightful owners. Young, cocky, and looking for power and knowledge, his curiosity got the better of him and he opened an ancient grimoire during one of his jobs. His mind opened to fragments of lost knowledge older than time itself, he unwittingly entered into a pact with a Great Old One. He continues to walk in shadows, aided by his familiar, to seek out arcane artifacts and secrets, sometimes for others and more often for himself.
My OG party consists of a Paladin (ancients) a Ranger(gloom stalker) and an Artificer (battle Smith). 3/7 original members posting as of yesterday.
If your'e thinking about characters, at this point it would be slightly easier if they were already in the vicinity of Greyhawk on Oerth, but there's planar travel afoot, so not essential.
Riavor half elf bard who made a mercenary contract with a yugoloth. (bard 7/ warlock 2)
Riavor is somewhat experienced in dungeoneering and also gained insight from his patron but is also impulsive. sometimes he will predict a trap then stick his hand in an obvious trap for a bag of coins.
Riavor tends to rely on luck and shenanigans to survive.
(i rolled in my character builder for dndbeyond then rerolled ones to modify it)
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Blue was born on a planet long ago and far away....to and human mother and elven father who was more than an elf. He was cursed / blessed with a magic, and the plan was or him to grow into such that eventually he would be able to transport his father (in actuality ancient Blue dragon Old Bahnushahah). An ancient Blue Dragon who desired a way off the world he was on. Blue would grow into that way. However before that could happen Blue found himself on the wrong side of some slavers, and escaped to the Shadowfell. Years in the shadow fell, running...hiding...and finally caught by the Raven Queen. And sent away, not to his world or anther world, but to the Feywild, on a mission of vengence for the Raven Queen. He was to gain her vengence on ********* and suddenly, all memory of his target is gone. His memory changed in the Feywild, he wandered there for years...he found love. He found loss. and he tired of a world of illusion and tired of the fey. So he left...and is now in>>>>>>>????????
Name: Desmond Race: Human (variant) Class: Paladin 2/Shadow Sorcerer 7
Des spent his whole life denying the shadow within, and even joined the paladin order, but just as he was about to take the oath - right in the middle of the ceremony, in front of the bishop and gathered knights - his control slipped and magical darkness spewed forth from his eyes and mouth. Unsurprisingly, the order would have nothing to do with him after that.
Tetrevess Tomescribe was raised by scholars in the candlekeep library, after his village all perished in a raid by Orcs. From an early age, his aptitude for the arcane was recognized. A passionate scholar of ancient secrets, he started exploring several years ago and has become an accomplished wizard…
I'd like to play an Aberrant Mind sorcerer a spy from a family which some say was cursed, whose eyes turn blood red when using his psionic spells. Of course he hides that he's a spy. He could be there on a mission to gather intel on Kwalish, secure some of his inventions and generally be on the lookout for anything which might give his country an advantage.
Since DDB does not allow changing the psionic spells, can I create a homebrew subclass which is exactly like Aberrant Mind but with my chosen spells?
Name: Father Cadfrey Race: Half-Elf Class: Cleric-Arcane 5/Sorcerer-Abberant Mind-4 Background: Investigator Interesting note: Freed from the influence of a cult his parents were a part of Father Cadfrey joined the clergy and expected to spend his days in prayer and doing good for the church and his flock. But, it was not to be as supernatural threats and cults seem drawn to the young priest. Now He travels investigating, seeking out supernatural threats, and preventing the destruction of innocents.

Always looking at other campaigns to join. Could we have some idea of the current group composition so that we aren’t overly redundant?
