Looking for a few players to test run a campaign I've been planning to run in person. We will simply be running a PBP and I will periodically ask for your feed back. Looking for 6-8 players. Please post your characters race and class in this post. I will PM you if I'm interested to understand or work with you on a backstory.
Please note: This is a horror-themed campaign. Fear is a real and valid emotion and may be triggering to some people. This campaign is not recommended for players under 13yrs of age as some adult themes and situations may arise.
If you have any questions, comments, or concerns for myself, please let me know at your earliest convenience. This open recruiting will end on Oct. 1st, 11:59pm GMT-5. Please respond by that time.
Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this post. I look forward to an interesting time.

Name: Grishkar Darkmoor Race: V. Human Class: Wizard (Necromancer)
The Kane family was known in diplomatic and arcane circles alike. Their son, Aleric, did not have such aspirations. Sent to academy to study the arcane, he soon grew bored of ceaseless questions of the universe and fled to a monastery to live a life of purpose. One day, he brought food to the bishop's study as he poured over a mysterious tome. When alerted, the bishop attacked Aleric in a frenzy, but the boy retaliated in self defense. With the bishop unconscious, Aleric looked at the book which seemed to distress the old monk so greatly. The room spun, and he quickly fell unconscious only to awake hours later tied to a chair and surrounded by inquisitors.
For days the boy was questioned, interrogated, even beaten. They kept asking the same question: "Where is the book?" The boy pleaded for mercy until he heard phantom voices answering where the inquisitors would not. It comforted him, and offered aid if he would only ask for it. On the fourth day, Aleric cried out for help to anyone that would come. What happened next is speculated as much as this tale. What is known, though, is that the monastery is now in ruins. A month after it burned down, the Kane estate burned to the ground with the family inside. Ever since then, the name Grishkar Darkmoor has been found among butchered animal corpses in nearby woods.

Always down for some dark fantasy DnD 5e! This would be one of my first DnD sessions in a while so please bare with me if I forget a few rules here and there, otherwise I have roughly a year and a half's worth of memorizing the core rules.
Name:Ash
Class: Barbarian
Race:Mark-of-Making Human
Background: Far Traveler
Backstory snippet:
A blacksmith from a far away realm thrust into an unknown world, struggling to find a way to earn coin and taking any chance he can get to find a foothold in the unknown. Because of his lack of cultural understanding and generally rude nature as he knows naught of basic customs, Ash is kicked out of any trades guild/public forge he finds himself in.
Armed with a fully cybernetic and functional left arm alongside a greatsword made of a rough yet glimmering black metal of unknown material, he hopes to find a way to begin anew in a different realm.
Ability scores: 141412171211 (Would also be fine with doing Point Buy or reducing some of the scores I got on my rolls here)
Update: I will contact you directly if I would like to add you to the campaign. Please be ready to discuss your characters creation. More instructions will be given in the private message.
Gareth calls himself an Author before he would call himself a proper ranger, he is the author of a series of beastiaries called “Unworldly Beasts and other critters of the wild”, his first hand accounts and studies of beasts he has encountered on his adventures.
