Hi! We are looking for two players to rebuild our years-long gaming group. Due to the pandemic, travel, life, we've lost some players, but we have a good while to go to finish our current campaign.
This is a high-level homebrewed adventure with characters currently at level 14. We have already completed a 10-level adventure in which a party of circus performers escorted a young aasimar girl, daughter of the god Milil, to the capitol where she was adopted by the childless king. He has since died and the girl is now queen. This campaign follows the aftermath in which the Heavens and Hells jockey for advantage in a monumental effort to reconfigure the heavens and hells themselves. A small but growing faction of dissatisfied gods want to create a more neutral circle of planes of Limbo. The first chapters depicted the long, untold history of the changing heavens and hells, where gods joined the pantheon regularly, followed by disastrous and brutal culling. The current 40 gods have not changed at all in the last few millenia but now, with the advent of aasimar queen, they are realizing change is inevitable and are vying to gain the greatest possible advantage.
I will provide more detail on the story thus far to those who eventually join the game!
Our current party consists of a cleric/rogue, a fighter/mage, and a ranger/homebrew druid. They have been together as emissaries of the crown for a while now and past players' characters are still around but will be in the background (unless their players find a way back to us!) Try to fill in the party where you see a hole!
To petition to join us:
Name: Class(es): Race: A brief backstory: How your character will join the adventure (see below):
Premade entry points into the story:
1 - The character is a subordinate to one of the emissaries (I'll take a partially premade character that I can tweak, please!) 2 - The character is an ambassador from a neighboring kingdom who becomes entangled in the celestial politics 3 - The character is sent by one of the gods from a distant place to offer his or her support in the growing conflict 4 - The character is just minding his or her own business and gets caught up in events. 5 - The character is called upon by the crown for his or her expertise. 6 - The character is a curiosity-seeker who becomes entangled in the events that drew him or her to the capitol. 7 - The character is an adventure-seeker who insists on joining the fray. 8 - The character is formally chosen by the heavens, the hells, the faction of Limbo, or all three as a mortal representative in their affairs. 9 - The character is a relative or close friend of a former PC and is stepping into his place as emissary (with approval by the crown). 10 - I have my own idea for how to join the adventure.
I will choose two players from the petitioners by Sunday evening. We will only worry about rolling stats and equipment if you join or table!
Name: Derren Darkblade Class(es): Warlock(Hexblade)/Paladin Race: Variant Human A brief backstory: Derren Brightblade was an up and coming paladin who lost his life losing a battle with a great evil. He was offered a chance to live again by a powerful shadowy blade, and he took it, awaking with very little of his memories. He has spent his time since in the shadows between good and evil, driven by the voice of his blade. His memories have started returning and he suffers conflict between his desires to defeat evil and the greyer desires of his patron. How your character will join the adventure (see below):
The character is formally chosen by the heavens, the hells, the faction of Limbo, or all three as a mortal representative in their affairs.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards. DM - The Old Keep
This is based on a 13th level Adventurer's League build. If it would help your decision, I can fill out a character sheet and include a link. Obviously, changes can/will be made to fit your campaign.
Name: Alric Class: Warlock - Celestial patron (pact of the blade, but will do pact of chain for this campaign) Race: Half-elf How your character will join the adventure (see below): 3 (commanded by his celestial patron)
A brief backstory: Alric lacks strength (8), so he dreamed of fighting with divine armies, standing on a heap of fallen foes after violent combat. (His self-image is to be something like Elric of Melnibone.) To his chagrin, his contact with the gods is a winged purple unicorn who preaches friendship and happiness. (Any resemblance to Princess Twilight Sparkle is purely coincidental.) For a CN character, being forced to act LG all the time leaves him frustrated and bitter. His goal is to one day gain enough arcane power to defeat his patron (and maybe join up with a fighting Planetar), but he is no where close to being ready to rebel. (His patron is amused at the resentment, and does not see him as an actual threat.)
If you are wondering why he has a sweater vest over his armor, I went to a convention north of Pittsburgh. Alric acquired an AL legal common item called "Cardigan of Make Believe", which is based on Mr. Rogers Neighborhood clothing.
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
Name: Goir Nemetsk Class(es): Barbarian 2/ Fiendlock 12 Race: Human (variant) A brief backstory: Goir was born into a tribe surviving on the edge of civilization and it was clear very quickly that he was not related to his mother's husband. Shunned and ostracized, he grew up with something to prove and wanted to join the ranks of the clan's defenders who fought with the blessing, and more importantly in the presence of, the clan's ancestors. Though initially successful in joining their ranks, due to obsessive training and the rage born of the memories of past ostracism, the clan's ancestors would not respond to his calls. He tried everything he could think of, everything the others recommended, but nothing worked and in desperation he began to address his calls to any spirit who would respond... It worked. One night he received a response from someone who claimed to be his ancestor, but in reality was a disguised demon. Since this was just what Goir wanted he did not think deep thoughts and did just as the spirit told him, sealing a pact and an oath with blood.
Of course the village elders immediately realized that he wasn't any Ancestral Guardian like the others, and the power he thought he received from an ancestor was actually foul, unnatural demon magic. He was cast out, but the fiends were not satisfied with only his immortal soul. They saw he could be of much use. So they leaned on him, effectively enslaving them while throwing scraps of arcane knowledge and power his way just to make him a better weapon for their own ends. He grew to hate them and his rage was no longer from distant memories of childhood slights - it came from his hatred of his "patron".
How your character will join the adventure: When the aasimar queen came to prominence, the fiends took notice. Beyond their hatred of all things celestial, they also saw an opportunity. If they could corrupt her, they would score a double victory: fall of a righteous celestial and a monarch with great temporal power they could use. The fiends dispatched Goir, then one of their favorite and most effective assets, to make that happen. He obeyed, both because he had no choice and also because he saw an opportunity in her as well - to rid himself, if possible, of the cursed pact and free himself from the fiends' control.
Name: Lexicon (Lexi) Class(es): Aberrant mind Sorcerer Race: Tiefling A brief backstory:
Lexi works as an interpreter in a government position (whatever is easiest to implement). Though her job is usually simply translating various documents her natural born talent with mind affecting magic has not gone unused. Lexi is often called upon when a telepathic link is necessary when there is a string language barrier or in more subtle cases when someone's mind needs to be prodded for their true thoughts. More recently however, due to the Aasimar Queen coming to power, Lexi has found herself being sent for field work. Shes to follow around a group of adventurers and provide her services as needed to help them accomplish their goals.
Though Lexi has grown quite comfortable to a life a luxury thanks to her position, she still finds herself excited to be out in the field, seeing this as an opportunity to perfect her craft as well as pursue her goal of mastering all languages.
How your character will join the adventure: partially covered above but likely scenario 1 in your list. Working for an emissary or other government offical who assigns her to the group. Whatever position would be easiest for you to implement is fine and anything above that needs to be changed to better tailor to the quest would be fine.
Bree never really had the discipline for proper acolytship, and she tended to agree. So when she was old enough she left her temple and set out to explore the world and figure out where exactly in the world her talents would be useful.
Apparently, circus performances. Swinging around decorative insturments and the like wasnt really that hard after spending so much time doing the same thing, but with actual weapons. And the crowds loved it when she used her weapons in place of that, so she got a lot more practice.
She never forgot where she came from though, so when the dreams started coming she couldnt ignore them. Packing up her belongings, she set out on the long journey on her own. To find those people she had been sent to help.
((Using 3 - The character is sent by one of the gods from a distant place to offer his or her support in the growing conflict))
Class(es): Spirits Bard 10, Archfey Pact of the Chain Warlock 4
Race: Topaz Dragonborn
Brief Backstory: Geheimnis (goes by Nis) is a traveler who rarely gets lost but as a child ended up in the fey wild "by accident." The village he grew up in was very superstitious and when he was born on midnight during a bloodmoon, they cast him off, not even his parents wanted him. A mysterious entity bound with him to help him survive the harsh environments in the Feywild. Eventually making his way out, Nis honed his skills with the Daxophone and Waldzither and specialized in stories of long forgotten mysteries and dark secrets, most of which he doesn't even know wherefrom. He is able to sing his songs all over because of his ability to convey messages telepathically, and even though he doesn't say words, the feelings portrayed in his music send shivers down the spines of most listeners. From his time in the Feywild, he had also come into possession of iridescent, pure colors that shine across his dark skin, forming shapes of people as he sings his songs. He is known for the feelings and images he can make people see and feel through his music.
When Nis isn't preforming, he likes to wander the forests and listen to the sounds of animals, or follow the occasional traveler and trade stories. Mostly he is just along for the ride, not yet ready to pave his own path and would much rather help other people in their quest to find themselves and achieve their own goals. He loves to be able to connect with people of different cultures so that he can learn folklore from all over, and older people especially interest him, with all their vast wisdoms and tales. He hopes to one day have his own stories and is searching for people to make them with in these historic times.
How your character might join the party: Most likely 3 or 6, maybe while he travels he hears whispers from his patron giving him vague directions, or perhaps he just runs across the party by mysterious chance or fate.
This is the white whale of PBP - a campaign that has lasted years. Wow. That's fantastic. Would love a chance to be part of that.
Name: Kulloda Class(es): Barbarian - Path of the Zealot Race: Half Orc A brief backstory: Kulloda has no memory of his parents or where he's from. His first memory is being thrust into a fighting pit as a child, a dagger in hand, facing a rabid dog. He was told to "kill or die". He killed. Again and again. But with his young ears and no one having taught him common yet, he didn't understand what they were saying and "kill or die" to him became "Kulloda", which he adopted as his own name, to the amusement of the older gladiators. His entire youth was being traded from one gladiator troupe to another. After performing in a provincial town and brutally maiming his opponent, again, Kulloda's master sold him off. It wasn't good business to have one gladiator killing the rest of the stable. A priest who had been watching, bought Kulloda and focused his rage, anger and strength in the name of his god (TBA based on the pantheon in this world). Kulloda has been the problem solver/avenger/enforcer for a prominent temple to this god for years now, with the priests teaching him that his early life was a test to win the god's favor. At times he finds himself wishing for more when he sees families together, but his rage and devotion to the temple still have too strong a pull on his life. Kulloda is literal and direct to a fault, and all problems are solved by smashing forward, but there's a kernel of feeling/desire/loneliness growing inside him that he doesn't know what to do with and it's the only thing he's ever been scared of. How your character will join the adventure: 3. The character is sent by one of the gods from a distant place to offer his or her support in the growing conflict - though given how the god has used Kulloda in the past he's being sent more to make sure the god is not forgotten in the mix and retains a position of power and if that's not possible then Kulloda would be directed to cause as much mayhem in his god's name as possible.
Name: Chom Blabbersnitch Class: Illusion Wizard Race: Forest Gnome A brief backstory: A junior librarian at <insert prestigious library name> , Chom's passion is learning about the outer planes: Heaven, the Hells, and everything in between. Any book that passed under his nose concerning the topic was spirited away and read cover to cover. He was able to house a large collection of books on the subject in his quarters, with no one knowing of their disappearance, through his use of illusions. However, forgetting to return the books eventually caught up with him. One of the more popular tomes was discovered missing when a prominent visitor grabbed thin air from the shelf, instead of the book. Panicking, Chom's other illusions failed, resulting in his deception being discovered. With a stern telling-off he was demoted to sorting recipes, inscribed song lyrics, journals of fairly unremarkable individuals and other such trivialities, a job he quickly grew bored of. Then <insert how character joins the adventure> occurred.
Chom is naive, trusting, rather excitable, and sees only the good in everyone.
How your character will join the adventure (see below):
4 - The character is just minding his or her own business and gets caught up in events. 5 - The character is called upon by the crown for his or her expertise. 6 - The character is a curiosity-seeker who becomes entangled in the events that drew him or her to the capitol.
Probably one of these three, can discuss if picked.
This feels like an amazing story, and being part of it would be really... well, really cool. :)
Name: Killian Joy Class(es): Paladin (Oathbreaker) 9/Sorcerer (Shadow Magic) 5 Race: Variant Human A brief backstory: This character is lifted from a different (now completed) campaign that conveniently ended at level 14. As a result, she has a pretty intricate backstory, which I like a lot and have summarized below. It is built on the standard gods, with Ilmater being her initial god, but it could be adapted to this world. Yes, she is Lawful Evil, but the animus that drives her was not greed, but a bone-tired exhaustion that was only relieved, if briefly, by meting out her form of justice. When she discovered Shadow, it gave her a different outlet, a connection that has begun to subtly change her. Can she be redeemed? Will it happen in this world? I would love the chance to find out. I understand if you do not want to bring an evil (if evolving and also nuanced) character into the group. I promise I won't cause player struggle, but I get it if you are leery. If nothing else, I have had fun rethinking and revisiting her.
A poor girl on the streets of a large city, Killian grew up thieving and scrapping. Eventually, times got even worse, and she found herself jailed, then sold, then sold again. It was in this grim moment she felt the touch of the gods, taking her suffering and giving her the strength to break her bondage. But the seed had been planted in ground already corrupted. In the years that followed, Killian joined an order of paladins, rising quickly by the strength of her arm. But she was ever quick to punish, never one to offer mercy, and her connection to her god was difficult, tenuous. She was lawful and strict on the outside, but chaos reigned inside. Finally, a moment came when she recognized what was inside her, and rather than snap, like a branch pulled too taught, she settled into it. She was leading a troop from her order to quell goblin attacks on a village. The small town had a stockade, but the goblins were getting in somehow. There was a suspicion that someone inside was letting them in. It was quick work to find the culprit, a ne'er do well taking a cut from the goblin boss. As the officer in charge, Killian was responsible for determining his fate. The law was clear, he was to be bound, tried, and punished. But Killian saw in him all those who had made her suffer. The guards out for themselves, who sold a small girl from the jailhouse into slavery. The owners who beat her and treated her worse than their cattle. The officers and priests at the temple who spoke about their beliefs but (in her mind) were lax in their practice. It was not enough to endure suffering, she decided. It was her geas to end suffering. She drew her sword and in one swing slew the bound man. She left the order (one of her troops tried to confront her, and she ran him through), and has been on her own since then. She drinks heavily, fights wickedly, sleeps like the dead. But in the last years, she has slowly begun to find not just solace, but peace in the shadows that follow her everywhere now.
How your character will join the adventure: 8. Killian has been directed to represent certain aspects of the forces of Limbo and Hell. Shadow from Limbo, order from Hell. Of course, the Hells also delight in her suffering and corruption, she is both champion and victim to them. But shadow is beginning to fill in the hollow spaces, rekindling in her a desire for justice, and with it, balance. Shadow does not exist without light, after all. And as is the way of gods, both are interested to see how this plays out on such a public stage.
A brief backstory: Malizath serves Tazxan an ancient bronze wyrm that was once known to serve as a champion of the lawful gods before suffering a horrid wound at the hands of a champion of the devils. This wound left Tazxan crippled and wracked with unending pain. In order to continue serving the gods the dragon began to give out its powers in various way, creating Sorcerers through a gift of his blood or training others with dragon blood how to summon an aspect of his power in the form of a drake that would serve as faithful companion.
Thus due to his faithful service as an attendant and protector Mikmek was chosen to recieve this gift. From then on the he was trained to harness his power, going on many missions to continue his master's campaigns against the enemies of the gods. While he grew powerful he never gained reknown due to completing his task and then disappearing once more.
How your character will join the adventure (see below): Malizath was sent back his master Tazxan to join the fight after being given a vague vision of things that could come to pass.
Very interested in the opportunity to join a long-running campaign and help add to the story and lore.
Name: Tristan Corwain
Class: Bard, College of Swords
Race: Variant Human (Actor)
Backstory: Tristan spent his formative years in Gustav’s Wandering Minstrels, Circus Troupe and Wild Menagerie where he learned the subtle art of weaving magic into music and song along with the skills of acting, acrobatics, and entertaining with the sword. He soon found a patron, a wealthy noble from a mid-tier family, and left the circus to serve the house. An accomplished duelist, in addition to song and entertainment he served as a bodyguard and second for the noble’s eldest son. He gained renown by besting Duke Naillo, himself a famous swordsman, in a duel that lasted over 6 hours before blood was drawn to end it. He soon came to the attention of the court and entered the service of the crown. He served the previous King as a spy among the neighboring Kingdoms for years, touring the capitals and large cities as a member of an acting troupe, then using his talents to uncover secrets, spread rumors, and incite rebellions to further the crown’s interests in the region.
Recommended way to join the adventure: Upon hearing of the King’s death, Tristan makes his way back to the capital to meet and pledge his service to this new queen, if he finds her and her cause worthy. In this case,
5 - he could be called upon by the crown for his expertise after offering his service OR
7 - Tristan is an adventure seeker and insists on joining the mission after finding out more information.
Name: Circe Morgana Stormbender Class(es): Artificer Race: Variant Human A brief backstory: Circe comes from a lesser known noble family within the kingdom. Her mother had passed hen she was quite young, and her father had raised her the only way he knew how. As a result, she grew up bombarded by notions of honor and duty. While their family did not have the highest ranking among the other Nobles, they were well respected, as their bloodline was known to produce powerful sorcerers. For generations, her family had served the government loyally, in times of peace as magical advisors, and in times of war as War mages. This was a matter of great pride for her father, making it all the more heartbreaking for him when it became clear that for whatever reason, the family magic was almost non-existent in Circe, his eldest daughter. Her father was quite adept at maneuvering through the politics of the noble Court, so he quickly squashed any rumors that might suggest the family's magical bloodline was weakening. He kept Circe out of the public spotlight, turning his focus to training her younger sister Sylvia. Eventually, Circe became bitter, jealous of what her sister could do, angry that her father was so quick to toss her aside, but most of all, desperate to prove to both of them that she could do better, that she didn't need their magic, she would make her own. She poured over every book in her family's library, studying magical theory, and discovering how to replicate those techniques through mostly mechanical means. On her 18th birthday she showed her father what she had learned, what she could do, a few small prototypes, and her notes and essays on how this could allow her to not only equal, but perhaps even surpass their family's magic eventually. That was the proudest moment of her life, and deep down she hoped it would finally earn her father's approval. After looking over it all, her father calmly took the papers she handed to him, walked to the fireplace in his office, and threw the pages into the fire. Circe watched in horror as over 4 year's worth of research, years of her life, vanished into smoke and ash in a matter of seconds. Before she could react, her father strode across the room, slapping her across the face, his look one of stern disappointment. She could manage little more than a yelp of surprise, her hand shooting to her stinging cheek, which was bright red from the impact of her father's hand. He sneered down at her, telling her that no daughter of his would ever be allowed to resort to such pathetic, mechanical imitations of magic. He began lecturing her on how lucky she was that he hadn't disowned her years ago for being such a useless child. In that moment she snapped, unleashing a torrent of insults at her father. Years of pent up frustration and bitterness came rushing out all at once, and at the end of it, she didn't bother waiting for his response. She stormed out of the room, telling him he needn't bother disowning her, vowing that she would return one day and prove him wrong, that she didn't need his wealth or influence, or his magic to become powerful. She packed her bags that night and ran, vanishing into the darkness. Since then she's traveled all over, taking what jobs she could, desperate to prove herself. Her one goal is to eventually return home having become more powerful than her father or sister ever could have dreamed and finally force them to acknowledge her as the superior mage, whether it be as a public figure or on the field of battle. She prefers to stand on the merit's of her own abilities, but isn't above invoking her family name when it's advantageous. How your character will join the adventure (see below):
Premade entry points into the story: 5 - The character is called upon by the crown for his or her expertise. 7 - The character is an adventure-seeker who insists on joining the fray. either one of these would work. I look forward to playing if you choose to accept me ! :)
Name: Fionn Class(es): Wizard (Bladesinger) Race: Variant Human A brief backstory: Fionn grew up in the streets of Baldur's Gate, alternating times on his own, under the tyrant shadow of some local gangster or in an orphanage thinking what his next prank will be. During all of these years, his situation constantly changed, but there was one thing stable: his friend Conrad.
Conrad was a lovely elf boy, and Fionn's best friend, even when there were times they didn't know about each other. Conrad was eventually adopted by some kind elves, and the boys grew up. Fionn managed to get some apprenticeship under a local mage, and started hiring himself for some jobs around. Not the best life there is, but better than most. He met Conrad from time to time, and found out his childhood friend had turned into a powerful and talented wizard. He was happy for Conrad and helped him occasionally, the both of them training together.
One day, years afterwards, Fionn was already a well settled adventurer all over the Sword Coast when his friend came to him, pale and ill. He had been touched with a deadly disease during an adventure, and there was no time left for him. Nothing they would try was going to be of any help, and he wanted to leave his last mission in his most trusted friend's hands. Conrad explained he was a messenger for the Aasimar Queen, and even though he had been assaulted by unknown hooded strangers, he had managed to keep the message. A message which was now Fionn's task to deliver.
Fionn swore his dying friend he would fulfill the mission. After he put Conrad properly to rest, he collected all the knowledge and courage he could gather and began the task of carefully seeking for the Queen to honor his friend's last will.
How your character will join the adventure:9.5 - The character is a relative or close friend of a former NPC and is stepping into his place as emissary (with approval by the crown).
(I've used some Forgotten Realms place names, which can be changed to whatever places are in your campaign, sorry).
Hi. Thanks for posting this recruitment, and thanks in advance for your time reading this post.

Name: Corva Mori Class(es): Fighter/Monk Race: Sharder-Kai A brief backstory (option 3 to join, see below):
As part of the monastic order of the Memorites, Corva has traveled out of the Shadowfell and onto the Material Plane where he is working to uphold the fragile balance between life and death as his Goddess commands.
For a while, the Raven Queen has been taking a neutral stance in the conflict, because her domain isn't a physical one, but a matter of balance. One night, when Corva is praying to his Queen in the darkness of the night, she reveals her self to him in a vision and shows him two visions: One where the conflicts ends in no one ever dying and one that ends with no one ever living. Both upsetting the great balance.
The next day, Corva quickly packs his things and travels to seek out this conflict knowing that he must participate to ensure that regardless of the fallout, the great balance is maintained and enforced in the name of The Mother of The Last Breath.
Name: Llyr Airgetlám (Placeholder name for now) Class(es): Bladesinger (Wizard) Race: Summer Eladrin (Possibly Variant, depending on how I roll)
How your character will join the adventure (see below): 2 - The character is an ambassador from a neighboring kingdom who becomes entangled in the celestial politics.
A brief backstory: The Airgetlám (Silverhand) bloodline is a proud one, comprised primarily of Bladesingers, with centuries of service to this nation. Llyr was born in the heart of it all. Not royal - not even close - but of good stock, the Elf performed his duties admirably, for close to a century and a half, and was finally granted a position of worth: one he could retire in. A nice, cushy job, in a land with an heirless King. Navigate the local Nobility, make some friends, keep an ear to the ground, have the time to polish his magic and bladesmanship skills, do a little drinking, a little gambling, and watch the theatre of succession unfold from a fair distance. Wonderful. Best twenty-odd years of his life.
Heaven and Hell converging on his little slice of paradise? Less so. As a loyal subject to his crown, with an impeccable resume (despite a few, shall we say, less than flattering situations), he couldn’t exactly pack up and leave. They’d have his head. And so, this full-blooded Wizard, that has spent a lifetime without prayer, now finds himself having to deal with literal Divinity at his doorstep. How? That, is the question he needs to figure out an answer to. Fast.
The basic idea for the character would best be described as a not-an-Elf Elf. He’d decidedly look the part, in posture and bearing, until, well, he very much didn’t. Bold, Impetuous, at times brash and decidedly capable of cursing like a sailor, this social butterfly (of varying effectiveness depending on the attributes), who may or may not have a gambling problem, would have been riding on cloud 9, living a life of luxury and comfort, until peril the likes of which he’d never felt suddenly surrounded him, and nearly every bone in his body shouted run. But, there was that little voice in the back of his mind that told him that if he was a gambling man - and he was - then this, whatever this was, could very well be the chance of a lifetime.
This is the white whale of PBP - a campaign that has lasted years. Wow. That's fantastic. Would love a chance to be part of that.

Thanks for considering this character.
A barbarian with such a tragic backstory and excellent insertion place is hard to pace up. This will fill out the non-magical side of things pretty well. I'll send you an invite next!

The second slot was a really tough call but I ultimately decided on the Eladrin bladesinger, partly because of the Eladrin element and also because I liked how you wrote your backstory. Thanks everyone for the interest! Sorry I couldn't take you all.
I didn't realize this but our cleric/rogue was on his way out. So your bard will probably fill his role in the party the best. Welcome aboard!

10 - I have my own idea for how to join the adventure.
I will choose two players from the petitioners by Sunday evening. We will only worry about rolling stats and equipment if you join or table!
Name: Derren Darkblade
Class(es): Warlock(Hexblade)/Paladin
Race: Variant Human
A brief backstory:
Derren Brightblade was an up and coming paladin who lost his life losing a battle with a great evil.
Coriana - Company of the Grey Chain
Wagner - Dragon Heist: Bards.
DM - The Old Keep
I'll put my submission in the "spoiler".
This is based on a 13th level Adventurer's League build. If it would help your decision, I can fill out a character sheet and include a link. Obviously, changes can/will be made to fit your campaign.
Name: Alric
Class: Warlock - Celestial patron (pact of the blade, but will do pact of chain for this campaign)
Race: Half-elf
How your character will join the adventure (see below): 3 (commanded by his celestial patron)
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec
Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM)
Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy)
DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
Name: Goir Nemetsk
Class(es): Barbarian 2/ Fiendlock 12
Race: Human (variant)
A brief backstory: Goir was born into a tribe surviving on the edge of civilization and it was clear very quickly that he was not related to his mother's husband.
Name: Lexicon (Lexi)
Class(es): Aberrant mind Sorcerer
Race: Tiefling
A brief backstory:
Name: Bree Greenbottle
Class: Way of the Kensi Monk
Race: Halfling
A Brief Backstory:
Elra Skylash - Human Cleric | Vanzaren Tanidoni - Half Elf Wizard
Mindartis Liadon - Eladrin Barbarian | Naivara Siannodel - Half Elf Ranger
Arrila Evenwood - Half Elf Paladin | Callaphe of Setessa - Human Rogue
Katernin Nemetsk - Aasimar Cleric | Melody - Tiefling Bard
Name: Geheimnis Tiefes
Name: Kulloda
Class(es): Barbarian - Path of the Zealot
Race: Half Orc
A brief backstory: Kulloda has no memory of his parents or where he's from.
Thanks for considering this character.
Hi mate, my offering for you below:
Name: Chom Blabbersnitch
Class: Illusion Wizard
Race: Forest Gnome
A brief backstory: A junior librarian at <insert prestigious library name> , Chom's passion is learning about the outer planes: Heaven, the Hells, and everything in between.
Name: Killian Joy
Class(es): Paladin (Oathbreaker) 9/Sorcerer (Shadow Magic) 5
Race: Variant Human
A brief backstory: This character is lifted from a different (now completed) campaign that conveniently ended at level 14.
And as is the way of gods, both are interested to see how this plays out on such a public stage.
ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he).
Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Name: Malizath Ilkaros
Class(es): Ranger (Drakewarden)
Race: Dragon Born (Metallic)

Name: Circe Morgana Stormbender
Class(es): Artificer
Race: Variant Human
A brief backstory: Circe comes from a lesser known noble family within the kingdom.
Premade entry points into the story:
5 - The character is called upon by the crown for his or her expertise.
7 - The character is an adventure-seeker who insists on joining the fray.
either one of these would work. I look forward to playing if you choose to accept me ! :)
Name: Fionn
Class(es): Wizard (Bladesinger)
Race: Variant Human
A brief backstory: Fionn grew up in the streets of Baldur's Gate, alternating times on his own, under the tyrant shadow of some local gangster or in an orphanage thinking what his next prank will be.
How your character will join the adventure: 9.5 - The character is a relative or close friend of a former NPC and is stepping into his place as emissary (with approval by the crown).
(I've used some Forgotten Realms place names, which can be changed to whatever places are in your campaign, sorry).
"Losing to a master is nothing to be ashamed of, unless you learn nothing from the experience."
Master Suana.
Hi. Thanks for posting this recruitment, and thanks in advance for your time reading this post.

Name: Corva Mori
Class(es): Fighter/Monk
Race: Sharder-Kai
A brief backstory (option 3 to join, see below):
Name: Llyr Airgetlám (Placeholder name for now)
Class(es): Bladesinger (Wizard)
Race: Summer Eladrin (Possibly Variant, depending on how I roll)
Okay, that's the last application. I'll have the chosen players and their characters selected soon. Thanks everyone for applying and happy Halloween!
A barbarian with such a tragic backstory and excellent insertion place is hard to pace up. This will fill out the non-magical side of things pretty well. I'll send you an invite next!
The second slot was a really tough call but I ultimately decided on the Eladrin bladesinger, partly because of the Eladrin element and also because I liked how you wrote your backstory. Thanks everyone for the interest! Sorry I couldn't take you all.
I didn't realize this but our cleric/rogue was on his way out. So your bard will probably fill his role in the party the best. Welcome aboard!
