You approach an androgynous, colorfully dressed Tiefling. Blue skin. Purple hair. Silver eyes. Shortly after they finish their performance, strumming on their viol. You didn't pay attention. But you're curious about them.
"So, you're curious about little 'ol me, eh?" Their full lips curve into a smirk. Shooting you a flirtatious wink. "Well, darling, I have a few moments to spare..."
"I was born the prince of a far off country. My birth, well. Came as a surprise, neither of them expected the blue skin or the horns." There's a fond laugh, as they continue. "They both. Well. It was hard to swallow. Neither wanted to accept they had a devil or worse, demon in their bloodline. They tried to love me. In time..." There's a sad little sniff, before a smile spreads on their face. Still sad. A nod. A swallow.
"In time, they did. We had eight, maybe nine years of happiness... and then..." Their lower lip quivers. "it was all taken away. By a treacherous vizier, named Velixar. The traitor turned himself into a Lich, in the long forgotten tombs. Filled with the forgotten dead of ages past." They sigh.
"The invasion started over night. We were overwhelmed with the dead. Our ranks becoming theirs. Fire... fire everywhere." They stare off into a candle flame. Watching it dance under the pale moonlight. "My father was beheaded. My mother filled with arrows." They glance down at their arm, eyes closing. Reminiscing.
"My arm was taken by falling debris as a magical battle broke out between my older brother and Velixar, both powerful magic casters. Powerful enough to cause buildings to collapse. I ran." A deep intake of breath. "To this day, I don't know who won."
The bard known as Joy, stares off into starlight as they continue their take. "I wandered... Deep into the night. Passing out under a sacred tree, where the Fey found me. They took me into their realm." Smiling. Beaming. Truly happy.
"They used their magicks to restore my arm. No, no," there's a shake of the head. Laughter. "It's not magical. Well. Magical in some ways. But." There's another wink. And they continue. "They taught me how to play music. The viol, the flute, the horn. They taught me how to weave magic into my music. So here I am!"
