I love running PBP, and DDB is favorite place to do it. Unfortunately I had a personal situation that caused my sudden withdraw earlier this year, but I have returned to game again, so here we go folks! An all new original low fantasy setting to explore and define through play.
Norlandria: The Forsaken Kingdom A century ago the last King of Norlandria and his family perished in the great plagues, a power struggle ensued and Norlandria fell into chaos. The plagues passed but Norlandria remains divided into scores of smaller kingdoms unable to unite. The people pray for a new king but the gods do not answer the prayers of Norlandrians any more.
The Adventure begins in Hearthwell, a secure city under the control of the goodly Lord Graylark. It is fall and the month long Hearthwell Harvest Festival is in full swing, but there is a gloom hanging over the joy of the festival this year. A rumor is spreading that this year’s Princess Of The Harvest is missing, possibly abducted. Orcs? Bandits? Lord Graylark’s rival Count Carlov? Nobody knows. Lord Graylark’s Guard Captain, Mordo, has called for a rally of all able bodied folk willing to begin a search and the philanthropist Master Burzum, the owner of local a vineyard and winery has offered a reward of 1000 gold coins for the safe return of the Princess Of The Harvest before the closing of the festival when she blesses the next years crop. The people believe that without her blessing the next seven harvests will fail!
Character Creation & Submission Level: 1 Races: Human, Half Elf, Half Orc, Halfling, Dwarf, Goliath, Tiefling or Eladrin (Note: Only 1 Eladrin, 1 goliath and 1 Tiefling would be allowed in to reflect the population other races are not limited.) Advancement: Milestone Encumbrance: Use Coin Weight: On HP: Fixed Stats: Standard or Point Buy Starting Equipment or Gold, your choice. Your character can worship any gods from the multiverse they choose. Just don't expect any miracles! Who are you, why have you come to the Hearthwell Harvest Festival and why have you decided to join the search? Chosen players will be notified via private message! Good Luck!
Sanfer grew up as an orphan on the streets of a small town. He is not clear where or when his parents left him. Sanfer began to street perform as a young child to make the means to survive on the day to day grind. Once he was becoming more mature, he began to take a fondness to magic and the effects it has on people. He does not practice much, if any, attacking magic. Sanfer relies on a rapier, his first large purchase, to defende himself. Sanfer is very nimble and able to move quickly.
Arthus loves nothing more than to entertain anybody who is around him. With the darkness of the plague still haunting the lands (and himself), Arthus journeys from city to city with his grandfathers lute trying to spread at least a little bit of joy. He never stays in a place more then two weeks as he is afraid of gaining attachments after his grandfather died from the plague. When Arthus learned of the Hearthwell Harvest festival he could not resist attending and hopefully performing. When he saw the posting about the search for the Princess of the Harvest, he could not help joining the search hoping that bringing other peoples happiness would make him happy.
I am also very interested in this campaign..... I will see what I can come up with.
Name: Rohk Race: Human Class: Fighter
Rohk was born with a strange scar on his upper right arm that periodically will feel as though it is burning and searing his flesh. As he grew older he found out that he the scar was actually a dragon mark and learned how to harness its power. After he was old enough he joined the military but was kicked out when he accidentally lost his temper and lost control of his power.. causing a terrible fire in the barracks. Soon after leaving the military, he returned to his home town to Hearthwell in the hopes of find away to better control his temper, his power, and prove to those around him that he is not is not a dangerous screwup.
Race: Tiefling/ The Hexblade (If Hexblade isn't allowed, I can change to a different patron)
Brief Bio: I am Mortis, a sell-sword that has wandered into Hearthwell to try and relax by enjoying what he can of the Harvest Festival. Despite my appearance and heritage I do my best to be polite, courteous and respectful to those that I have dealings with. There is a code of chivalry that I personally follow and I don't just do jobs for the highest bidder, but instead choose what jobs I take based on their context. I have decided to join in the search for this Harvest Festival Princess for three reasons: 1) my coin and supplies are running low, 2) there is a noble cause in rescuing a princess from her captor, and 3) lets be honest, who doesn't dream of rescuing a princess from danger.

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Bio: Originally born in the feywild, Aelas was raised to protect those in need and bring happiness where he could. He left the feywild for the material plane when he reached adulthood. He came to the Harvest Festival because it sounded interesting and he couldn't really resist. He has joined the search for the princess because he believes its the right thing to do, and it will keep the people in good spirits.
Story: Wald, an elderly half-orc 62 years young, long retired from military service in a vanguard support unit to pursue a more contemplative life, emerged from his normally reclusive life to attend the Harvest Festival for two reasons - to win a bet he made with one of his old comrades at his last reunion and to find some quality alcohol. After hearing the call for searchers, Wald promptly finished his deep mug of ale (nothing like what they used to have on the frontlines in Namistria) and offered his spear to the search.
Name: Khallek Race: Half-Orc Class: Fighter Background: City Watch Backstory: Kallekh is a half-orc who is honourable and fights for the peace of his home. He may not be bright, or be that much of a diplomat, but he attempts to do what he can to defend his people. He goes lightly armoured, with his weapons to attack from nearby or at a distance, and will keep going no matter what the cost if his honour is on the line.
Name: Cleo Race: Half-elf Class: cleric – Life domain (Eldath) Backstory: Abandoned as a child, a small following of Eldath, goddess of peace, took Cleo in and brought her up. As such, Cleo is considerate of everyone and would rather find a peaceful solution to problems, but is not afraid to fight for what she believes and for the safety of those around her. She will go out of her way to help others and looks for divine sighs in everyday life.
She has been travelling for a while now and has happened upon the Hearthwell Harvest Festival. She decided to attend in hopes of making new friends, perhaps even a travel companion, and to see how people of the realm are doing. With such a big gathering there should be a lot of different source information. Upon hearing about the missing Princess of The Harvest, she simply could not stand idle and joined the search right away! While she could defiantly use more money to continue her wonderings about the lands, the thought never even cross her mind.
Torban is a local boy done good. He was born in Heartwell, but went off to fight in the border skirmishes that still continue. He has returned home to visit his parents, being at the end of his years of service. He feels honor bound to help find the Princess of the Harvest.

Liarin: Against the Cult of the Reptile God Adewild: Shadows and Light 2 Brother Thaddeus: Rime of the Frostmaiden.
Half Elf Wizard: "Plague Doctor" Name, Stats, and details will be fleshed out if character is accepted.
My character will be a traveling merchant -- a snake oil salesman, actually -- who capitalizes on the lingering fear of plague by citizens of Norlandria. He travels from city to city performing fake plague tests to passersby, usually indicating that they are showing initial symptoms, or, at the least, are at high risk for the plague. He subsequently tries to "prescribe" remedies: charms, trinkets, tonics, quick rituals, or anything else that will lead to them placing a few silver in his palm.
Using a combination of charismatic interactions, a wide array of scholarly knowledge (which lends an air of expertise and authenticity to his schtick), and the more-than-occasional use of illusion magic, he has done well for himself for the past 3-4 years.
I see him joining the search for the princess organically, depending on the events that take place after his arrival to the festival, or character interactions that convince him to do so. A few ideas: business is super-slow this festival, and that reward would do well to recoup the costs; or he stepped a bit too far over a legal boundary and was arrested, but given the chance to be exonerated if he puts his skills to official use to locate the girl; or a passing group of characters recognized his knowledge in politics and history, and convince him to help locate the princess for a cut of the reward.
Race: Half-Elf w/ Mark of Detection (not attached to this at all! just found it fit well with the concept)
Class: Rogue
Jhanus Laurentine Straven was born in an isolated section of the Norlandrian Kingdoms. Truly, his home was of no real significance, asides from that the Great Plagues blighted the place quite significantly. Coming from a century-old line of monastic plague healers, Jhanus often refers to himself as "Doctor", and has come to Hearthwell under this role. Seeking to act as an impromptu "health inspector" for the Harvest Festival, he has become wary of the potential threat to the Princess. Jhanus fears that the tradition holds truth and has volunteered his expertise in an effort to prevent a blighting of Hearthwell's fields, which reminds him all too much of his own home's fate.
Class: Rogue (Inquisitive or Mastermind if we hit higher levels)
An anthropologist dedicated to the monstrous races, Galmae travelled to Hearthwell with the hope of being able to study the local orcish tribes in more detail than what he's experienced in his books. Knowing the dangers of travel, he's trained himself to be more precise with his strikes, preferring to use a rapier or daggers in combat. He's brought along a field guide of sorts to the area to help him with his study. Hearing that the princess might have been kidnapped by orcs, he volunteered his service to ensure as little of a loss to the orcish population and to get a closer look at their social habits in combat. "Every aspect of a society is important!"
This game is full and recruiting has closed. Those selected received a private group message.
If you were not selected, thank you for your interest. The feel and atmosphere of the campaign that I'm looking for and the nature of the game world were the basis of my selections. Please feel free to submit again when I announce another campaign.
