I'm new to D&D and I wanted to start my first campaign
My characters name is Arie Sylvana. She is a level 1 half-ling warlock.
Her backstory basically is that the "God of Darkness" is trying to take control of Earth. He finds my character and believes that she has potential as a member of his army, and brings Arie and her parents back to his lair. He tells her that if she agrees to join him then he will let her parents go, and she will not be harmed. She doesn't want to but he forces her into it and grants her the powers to be a part of his army, now making her a warlock. Her anger brings out the power and strikes the God in the face, making him think it was done on purpose. Of course, he doesn't believe her when she says it was an accident, he locks her and her parents away, breaking his deal of leaving them unharmed. Since Arie did not willingly give away herself, he tries to use his power of control but she resists it somehow. He believes the only reason she is fighting is because of her parents. He kills her parents right in front of her in unspeakable ways and tells her "You have nothing to live for now, this is your last chance, join me and you will be spared." She agrees, reluctantly. That night, she calls on the gods to come and help her, but no one answers her prayers. She decides to take things into her own hands and manages to escapes the underworld using her newfound powers, a grave mistake of the God. She eventually made it back to her homeland and vows to bring him down before he takes over the Earth.
Hello and welcome to the site. While your character sounds pretty neat, I think you may have better luck searching the forums for games with the "recruiting" tag. Those are games where a DM has made a game and is looking for players. There are way more players on here than DM's, so posting your character that may not exactly be crafted to fit into the world a DM is making might not get you many results. I would suggest that you filter for threads by the "recuiting" tag and then submit your character to those games. You might need to tweak your backstory a bit so that your character fits into their game. There are very few DM's that will make a game from the ground up revolving around the back story of a character. GOOD LUCK in finding a game. Hope my advice helps!
