"Hello. Welcome, you have been accepted into the Monastery of Universal knowledge, a academy for all monks meant to help them learn and better themselves, and to help them learn of the world outside the temple. I am Professor Libreth, the headmaster of this academy, and I am here to say that you must consider yourself either lucky of rather talented to have been accepted into such a academy. I look forward to meeting you later on
Description:
This will be a rp heavy campaign, and I need players who are deeply committed. Also I do not want anyone who posts responses that are only two or three sentences long, mainly due to the fact that they can be a bit boring to read. However, we will have some combat encounters in this campaign. You all will be starting off at level 10, and you will roll three sets of ability scores and pick whichever suits you best. You will pick starting equipment along with another extra weapon of your choice, alongside a magic item(A scroll, a wonderous item, a magical weapon, etc). I, the DM, will also be participating at Professor Libreth. All races are allowed. However, you HAVE to be a monk. However, I would like a variety on subclasses. If you want to use any homebrew races, items, or anything else, pass it by me first.

How they will pay for their tuition"
Hello, I am Sonic211, and recently a player had to drop out and I had to look for a new player. This time, however, instead of being one of the fresh recruits, you will instead be a student who has already possessed the "Universal Knowledge" which is a major asset in this campaign. Multi Classing is allowed, but your monk level must at least be level 6. I am looking for players that are level 12, so disregard the earlier statement above. Here are the two players right now
Nargun, a goliath following the Monk/Way of the Open Hand class
Huzur a half-orc who follows a multiclass of Rogue/Assasin and Monk/Way of Mercy
So just to make sure I understand ... I think you're saying that the total character level has to add up to 12, of which AT LEAST 6 levels have to be in a monk subclass?
Sounds so interesting, how could I refrain from applying to join the ranks of such a monastery? :D I'll drop in my three ability score arrays now and get busy monking around with a character sheet LOL
Ability scores: 17711141310
Ability scores: 121411121617

Race/class: Kender monk (Way of the Drunken Master) 6 / bard (College of Glamour) 6
Background: Witchlight Hand
Personality description: I collect experiences the way some kender collect mementoes. The more wondrous, fun and interesting the better, of course. But I truly believe in this as my serious purpose; and that somehow, by doing this I will break through to the wisdom I need to share this joy with everyone. In vino, veritas; in aqua, insanitas.
Their fear, flaws, strengths:
Fear: While Branth does not take the perpetual motion of kender to quite the same degree as others of his race, he is absolutely terrified of being bound or shackled and UNABLE to move
Flaws: - I have many vices and tend to indulge them.; I’m forgetful. Sometimes I can’t remember even the simplest things. ... or can I?
Strengths: (couldn't find this table in the character generator Description tab; just "Personality", "Ideals", Bonds", and "Flaws")
Backstory (No less than a paragraph of 5 sentences): Although he was never as manic about it as his kin back on ... what world was it again? or perhaps he was MORE manic than they; he certainly isn't now ... anyway, the kender tot who would later become the professional wastrel Branth Neddonal always was, in all his memories, at least as much given as they to wandering if not more. No one was particularly surprised when he vanished one day out chasing squirrels; no one was particularly surprised to meet him ... or at least, a kender who claimed to be him ... wandering among the oooths and pavilions the next time the Witchlight carnival appeared in the area. He was at that point only another itinerant musician and tumbler among many at the Carnival, or so he claimed. But her never explained, either, the silent older satyr who always seemed to accompany him, absorbing vast quantities of faerie wine but never speaking; always watching the young kender and what he did in his performance; seldom performing himself, except to introduce a grace note into Branth's that seemed to recast in in a whole new light, but when he did perform chaining all eyes to him with his wild, unpredictable twists and turns, his undeniable but always ... well ... drunken - seeming grace.
At this point, Branth himself isn't quite sure in his memories whether his mentor was in fact Hyrsam the Prince of Fools himself in one of his infinite guises; or simply a satyr of the Feywild who had developed his revelry beyond mere indulgence into true mastery, He does remember at one point believing that his master was in fact Hyrsam, so much so that after his mentor abruptly disappeared with only a command to "follow in the way I have begun you", he began to imagine he might have been chosen as one of his warlocks. He would prefer not to remember the contortions he went through attempting to cast warlock spells before convincing himself of the hollowness of this delusion. He did master the arts of weaving magic as a bard; but he always felt he was called to something more ... he hated to blaspheme his sacred kenderdom to even think the word, but ... something more serious in his frivolity. He began to write down all he could remember of his master's slightest gesture. Slightest word. Slightest reel or stumble even. And slowly he began to think of himself as a monk, albiet one of whimsy and revel. And if there was anywhere he could learn more about such an obscure monastic tradition ... if it even was one. If it was even obscure. He wasn't even sure about that, but he knew that if there was ANYWHERE he could find another master of madness to continue his training it would be the Monastery of Universal Knowledge. So he simply followed signs, portents, and squirrels from world to world, until one night he found himself in the right world, knocking on their (whatever portal description may be appropriate here)

One question: at 6th level, do you allow feats, or do you prefer we take the ability score boost?
Either way is fine with me, it is up to you

Caoril's father is elven ambassador's aide and a his mother a courtier from (DM choice). They had a quiet affair resulting in Caoril being born and their secret becoming public. His father was returned to the kingdom of elves and has not been a part of his life since. He has sent help to his mother in the form of gems and jewels from his homeland that supported his mother. She never married and spent her time with different lords as Caoril grew.
Personality description:
Observant and quiet. Caorill does not boast or threaten. He speaks plainly about his plans and expectations but is rarely providing all of the information he knows.
Their fear, flaws, strengths:
Caoril is drawn to gems and jewels. He has a secret cache of gems that he has acquired throughout his career. The location of this he has not revealed to anyone, the Brotherhood included.
He serves the Brotherhood as is required by their needs. Now that he is more senior in his status he has freedoms to pursue other goals as well. The concept of good and evil do not rule him.
Backstory (No less than a paragraph of 5 sentences)
He was unattended often as a child so spent his time out on the streets and getting into mischief. He learned of the gems his mother was being sent after finding a collection of them secreted in a hidden compartment in the floor of his mother's room. He admired their beauty. While out one night he was pursued after exiting a gem cutter's shop. He never was able to see who was following him, but, also could not lose them. After a night long chase he doubled back to confront his pursuer near dawn on the docks. Emerging from the shadows this man said to him, "You are good. I will send for you soon," and then knocked him out. Caoril awoke and found a silver coin with a sigil on one side he did not recognize. Three days later he found a note in his pocket telling him where to meet someone and to bring his new mark. He made this meeting and was recruited into The Brotherhood. His training began in earnest. Once older he was hired as an assistant to a scribe in town. He learned calligraphy and ran errands for him. Several years after this his work with The Brotherhood began in earnest. He has been very successful as an information gatherer and spreader. He has also performed assassinations and more mundane work as a personal protector. He has moved up in the ranks of the organization and is now allowed to pursue his own activities while being available to serve The Brotherhood as needed. He has found the Monastery of Universal Knowledge in his travels and decided to pursue further learning there.

He has been able to fund his joining of this Monastery through riches he has secured from his work with The Brotherhood.
