Hello, friends and neighbors! Today I have something exciting for you: A module set in a world that is basically if Willy Wonka designed an entire world of savory, spicy, sweet, and whatever-else-he-could-think-up food! And you can get in on the fun with Cularcana, the magic of cooking!
You are all citizens of a town called Salt Pork, a utopian village founded on the pork industry a long time back. It is protected from monsters by the ever-diligent Bulwark guards who act as the local police force. Salt Fest is rapidly approaching, but something's off. All the pigs have disappeared, right under everyone's noses! Can you bring them back and save the festival?
I will be accepting 5-7 players, and we will be starting at level 2. You can choose any race without a fly speed and any class or background you wish. Heck, I'll even allow homebrew if you run it by me first!
Two things I would like to make clear:
First, this game is PG-13, but may get a bit scary in some places. Anyone younger than 13 shouldn't apply, or should at least ask their parents first. Second, this is no place for hate. Neither you nor your characters should discriminate against others for their sexualities, genders, races, or ethnicities.
I hope we can have a fun game with a pleasant, accepting environment!
“Belly” as he is known to all his friends, acquaintances, enemies, employers and employees (in fact, only his parents ever call him Stew), is the outcome of two of the best at their trade; Bethesda Stewheart, the best halfling cook in the whole shire, and and Korig Brewbelly, the best dwarven brewer in the county. Belly was born to be a cook and raised to brew, but his passion was for Stew and Stout.. his name after all !
Standing 4 feet high and a mighty 150 lbs, Belly lives up to his name, his white chefs uniform usually immaculately clean and his magical spoon held in hand, his flying cooking pot always following close behind.
Belly is a master chef, tutored in the best Strixhaven college under Gyome himself to unparalleled skill in cooking and brewing. His magical “All In One Pot” homunculus carries all his cooking utensils for him. He also carries a magical spoon he created himself that he uses to focus his powers, and of course cook with.
Belly has been called in to help with this investigation as part of his initiation to the next level of his skill, his ascendency to the Alchemy profession of Artificery.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sounds tasty! Count me applying, as well as a question: is Cularcana allowed as a spellcasting subclass? i could see it being either wizardly (since recipes and measurements and the systematic study of cooking lore is involved) or sorcerous (since many of the best chefs improvise as much as they use written sources if not more) ... perhaps there's even a Warlock patron of cookery?

Oof, I'll let you reroll those if you'd like. Here are some subclasses made by the creator of this module:
Backstory: Rosemary was always a strange girl among the kender; when other kender children were seeing who could grab the shiniest things and tell the wildest stories about them, Rosemary would be in the kitchen stirring up the most interesting combinations of herbs and seasonings she could dream up. Her bell-pepper red hair always smelled of exotic spices, and the natural copper-pot hue of her hands was often darkened by the clinging cloves to that of a copper-bottomed pot that had been on the fire too long.
But her love for culinary herbs and odd spices only grew as she grew older, especially when she discovered the ... interesting ... effects herbs from certain areas of the forest had upon the consumer of her eventual culinary masterpiece. Areas of the forest where the colors were just a little brighter, the music of the streams more melodious and a strange half-suppressed giggling laughter was audible on the passing breeze.
And being drawn to the culinary arts, naturally the entire path of her life had been carefully self-groomed -- and then groomed by her master in the Spiceblender's Guild -- towards the fabled Salt Fest right here in her home town of Salt Pork. Ever since her earliest girlhood, she had been dreaming of her marinade and dry rub combination winning first prize and of standing on the grandstand the final night, making her parents and her thirteen siblings so proud of her and those snotty little *****es who had been giving her the upturned nose since girlhood so jealous. And finally, after so many years of secret tears and shame-racked sessions vomiting in the privy after a particularly badly failed attempt, this year she'd FINALLY perfected the recipe!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The drowned-pig-bellied and boar-tusked demonic Lord of the Flies himself couldn't keep her from bringing those damned pigs back so she can season the buggers!
Ooo leaving this here so I can return and put my character sheet. Also, how do we do ability score rolls?
I used the dice roller function which is the black square that looks like a six sided die face with a three showing. When you click that it allows you to put various types of dice roll into your post; there are three tabs in the submenu that pops up, and the right hand one ("Ability scores") automatically drops in a set of six 4d6 drop lowest rolls and allows you to pick the option if you want to reroll ones never, once, or always.
A tip that I picked up on the forums is that you want to drop in the ability scores first in a separate post and then "Quote" that post )the command underneath the post itself, between "Reply" and "Multi-quote". Still don't understand what :"Multi-quote" would do, but "Quote" puts those dice rolls into a quote box in the space where you "Reply top this topic'. That's important because if you don't put those dice rolls into a quote box, and then you edit that post, it may reroll the dice and flag the post "This post may have potentially manipulated dice rolls". For some reason, using the "Quote" command to put the dice rolls in a quote box in that way prevents that from happening. But only in that way; I tried putting the rolls in a regular quote box by clicking the " icon in the menu bar above the "Reply to topic" box and it didn't do that protection trick.

So he mustered up all of his courage (and a nice roast for travels), and he decided to join the hunt to find the pigs to save the tradition of his town (and the pigs of course).
