I'm considering starting a group on here to play through the homebrew setting that I use for my friends in RL. It would be more of a long term situation so keep that in mind.
The setting itself is an original continent with a variety of different biomes, nations, cultures, etc, and twists to the traditional DND lore surrounding the races.
I have a few other homebrew rules that I like to use as well which I'd be willing to discuss.
Players will be a part of a Guild of Adventurers called the Order of Dawn. They operate as peacekeepers and are not beholden to any singular government or nation. Instead, they take on jobs to help various communities that are struggling with small or large scale issues. That is a very brief summary and if there is enough interest I will put the final touches on and share a player's guide that provides significantly more detail about the Order and the setting.
In terms of playstyle, I like to keep things balanced somewhat between RP and combat. Depending on the task at hand, there may be more of one than the other, and I just want it to feel natural. I also tend to enjoy creating exploration and much of the initiative and discovery will be on the shoulders of the player, so I try to avoid any railroading or anything like that.
I like to have strongly written and well thought out characters as part of the story, so there will be plenty of opportunities to play out your character as well as interact with one another in character.
edit: I also should mention that I like to build stories around the characters, and have characters that feel like they are a real part of the setting, so if I do start a campaign I will likely work with players directly to answer any questions and form their characters so I can make appropriate changes to the campaign.
This isn't the official recruitment post just yet, but if the above description sounds interesting if not vague to you, let me know in the comments and I'll put together something more in depth and give more information.
I would be very interested in joining this campaign. It sounds like fun a roving band of cops/peacekeepers going from community to community helping them out.
Alright, seems like there's atleast enough interest to form a party so I'll take a day or two to transcribe everything into an easier format to read, and then set up a new thread for actual recruitment. I'll close this thread for now
