Hello gang, I would like to take the new 2024 rules out for a test drive.
To that end, characters created for this tale would be restricted to options found within the 2024 PHB [class, background, species, feat, spells, etc].
My plan is to take the characters from first through third level. Ability scores will be determined via point cost or standard array.
My expected posting rate will be about 2-3 posts per week. I know that pace is slower than most, so prolific gamers with the desire for multiple posts per day may want to pass on this one.
No character sheets should be submitted at this stage please; what I'm looking for is a 1-2 sentence description of the character you would like to play.
Zik’kak, a kobold druid, grew up in a secluded part of the forest, fascinated by the balance of life and decay. Embracing the teachings of nature, he became a druid, specifically drawn to the Circle of Spores. Zik’kak’s mission is to spread the importance of all aspects of nature, even those that others fear, like fungi. He believes that every creature and plant plays a crucial role in the cycle of life.
Cassian Ashward is a compassionate and determined human paladin who protects others despite the fear and suspicion directed at him due to his devilish mark and mysterious curse. Trained by a wandering tiefling paladin, he upholds the values of justice and redemption, seeking to prove that even those seen as cursed can bring light to the darkest places.
Navrine, a human monk from the streets, found refuge in a temple of mercy after witnessing her friend's tragic death and trained in martial arts to protect others. Now, she travels as a warrior of compassion, healing societal wounds and fighting for the oppressed, while carrying the memory of her lost friend and a belief in redemption.
Gero is a human monk whose monastery acts as the justice enforcement for a few surrounding villages. As a part of his training, he has been tasked to go into the world outside of the one that he has known, and complete an act of selflessness.
Finally. Been waiting for a test run of this as a player.
Chromir is a Goliath, descended from stone giants. As such, he has a large build, much much larger than the dwarf community he interacts with most. He lives alone in the wilds but will act as an escort for the the elder druid amongst the dwarves when they want to commune with nature, keeping them safe from threats with his strong arms and violent temper. But over the years, he has also picked up basic skills by watching them. This druid then became one with nature, and, having no one to tie him to one spot as the younger druids were content to protect themselves, he headed off in search of adventure. (barbarian - guide background)
Jogan Wildtalon was born a humble farm boy, a young Dwarf with a simple, peaceful life. That life was shattered when Orcs attacked his home, slaughtering his family before his eyes. Orphaned and alone, he was taken in by Galo, the warchief of the Black Wolf tribe.
Among the tribe, Jogan thrived in his new lifestyle, becoming a fierce warrior under Galo’s guidance. But fate dealt him another cruel blow—one day, poachers murdered Galo. The pain of losing a second father burned deep within him.Driven by rage and grief, Jogan returned to the civilized world with one goal, to unleash his primal fury upon the murderers of his father, and anyone who stands in his way.
I'll leave this thread up for the rest of the morning & early afternoon to see if we get any more submissions, but I am happy to begin the tale with three players.
For the folks that had already submitted a character pitch and were not selected, you may submit another character if you prefer.
Doc has spend the past few years working as a guard, in the medical quadrant. After the last attacks he was done with it and wanted to go out into the world to see more of it. And maybe find why those attacks at his home village happen, and maybe even find a way to stop them.
(Dwarven Cleric - Guard)
