Granitestead
Granitestead is the home of the dwarven Granitethew clan. They are located in the Spine of the World mountains about a tenday’s journey north of Shalecliff. The town is populated mostly by mountain dwarves (75%), gnomes (20%), half-orcs (3%) and others. The total population is around 1,000 people in the Summer and 700 in the Winter. The town has stone walls with towers and a single gatehouse. There is a standing town guard that patrols the streets of Upper Town (outside of the mountain) and Main Town (within the mountain. Most of Upper Town is geared towards housing animals, buildings for visiting “tall-folk” and tall-folk residents and traders. Almost all of the dwarves and gnomes live within the mountain.

Prices are not cheap here, but service and food are top notch and the linens are clean.
Braldon Granitethew -Animal trainer in Granitestead. Specializes in training giant goats to be used in battle.
The circle was also unusual as it was Divination magic rather than Conjuring or Abjuration, as we might have expected.
The area where the party encountered some animated furniture sat somewhat above where we think that door leads. Erbert mentioned the cause of animation could have been some big magic surge.
Point to ponder: is the wizard that won’t come out of the room at the inn something we should have investigated months ago (days or weeks in game time) or just some flair for the campaign?

What we recently learned (I think):
"........ not to........ here..."
- there are two actors, perhaps of similar rank in the hierarchy
"....no choice.........chasing..........."
-The Coward is scared
"..... leave..............my research........"
-second actor is an academic and The Coward is the field agent
"...........bugbears coming......here soon........Gral......"
-The Coward is afraid of the bugbears. Shocking that a coward is scared. Gral may be the leader of the bugbears and will arrive … soon.
"..........gather...things.......leave..........will kill you......."
-the second actor is more afraid of the bugbears than The Coward
"..........will.........follow........commands......."
-The Coward feels duty bound or is more scared of those that command the bugbears
My first three guesses appear to have been correct or close to correct. Second three are yet to be determined.

Unresolved issues from the Spider’s lair
This passage from the encoded diary led the party nowhere:
Alas my sweet blooded friend.
The key at your feet,
True North most discreet.
Keep sealed and fast Old Oak’s sword.
The magic circle in front of the non-magical vault door was perplexing. Is there any correlation between the diary, vault door and/or magic circle?
Also, the circle did not dissipate as expected.
The circle was also unusual as it was Divination magic rather than Conjuring or Abjuration, as we might have expected.
The area where the party encountered some animated furniture sat somewhat above where we think that door leads. Erbert mentioned the cause of animation could have been some big magic surge.
Ullur Balder – Lord of Balder Ranch - wants the sword that we assume is in the vault that we don’t know how to open.
Bessia - Priestess of Tyr in Shalecliff.
Places where the party likely left loot on the table:
The Itsy Bitsy Spider’s lair
The Blue Dragon lair
Point to ponder: is the wizard that won’t come out of the room at the inn something we should have investigated months ago (days or weeks in game time) or just some flair for the campaign?
Point to ponder: who/what is the “elf” we have seen from afar twice near the hill giant’s compound?
From the book, Finding the Tomb:
“Finding the remainder of the map fragments is a priority.”
- Is this the map fragment we recently found (that Starker was investigating)?
“There are strong wards surrounding this demi-plane that prevent direct travel to it without the "key" to attune to the plane.”
- Is this the key that we found on Craddick’s corpse (and is in Hoid’s inventory)?
Ivory Plaque found buried at the base of the maple tree in front of Rastagna's Tower.
