"It's Live Action Role Play, LARP. We disguise ourselves as mortals. We bum around their city and have fun. A complete vacation from [clan, tribe, coven, sect], and sustenance is literally right there on the street. As long as we're discrete. Of course, I'm only inviting those who can get along. It'll be great!", Bix had said. His infectious smile had made things seem easy.
The Six of you gathered together in your disguises. Bix, the seventh in your party, had prepared the jump. "Remember, if anything goes wrong, because it happens sometimes, we meet at Morgrave University’s library."
"You had briefly thought, 'wait what is Morgrave University?', but the glyph was already activated and you were already falling through space.

As a Vampire, you have an innate effect called "the glamer", this power alters what nearby humanoids think they’re perceiving, as opposed to true illusion magic that masks the subject’s appearance. As such, particularly strong-willed humanoids can sometimes shake off the effects of "the glamer" to see a vampire’s true form. Your natural eyes are a metallic pupil surrounded by a black iris. You determine the metal and if it is seen by those around you through "the glamer".
Your True Form is Vampire. Your LARP is human.
I like the use of the Dhampir to build your character.
As a Werewolf (Werebeast), Changing, Hag, or Oni you have an innate ability to appear humanoid.
An Oni and Hag can cast true polymorph upon yourself once per short rest to become any creature of tiny to large size that you have seen. ((DC 16 History to know if you saw it in your past pre-campaign.))
As werebeast (Weretiger, Werewolf, etc.), you appear as your chosen humanoid form. Once per short rest you can become your beast form, dire beast form, warg form, or humanoid form.
Edmar finds himself in an old garden or park, unfamiliar to him. There are large old growth trees. A cluster he finds himself under are sufficiently filtering the sunlight to make it ineffectual. ((In full natural sunlight, you have disadvantage on attacks and savings throws.))
There are beautiful tiered floral gardens. Old and young shifters are seen everywhere in this garden tending to the beds, meandering paths, lazing about reading. Here and there, you see dwarfs, goblin, elf, human, hobgoblin. Some are real others assumed.
Shifters, sometimes called the weretouched, are, as far as you, Edmar, know, the descendants of humanoid races and lycanthropes (werebeasts). They are often considered "lesser" in your circles. Under both lycanthropes (werebeasts) and humans.
How you feel about those delineations are completely up to you.
The goblinkin (goblin and hobgoblin) seem to you as perhaps young or misshapen gargoyle. However, they seem to completely lack their usual aversion to sunlight.
You are perhaps unfamiliar with the dwarf and their mixed breed off shoots. They may seem odd to you altogether.
You at least understand the basic (common) language being spoken and you catch the odd comment in elvish though it is slightly different from what you know, but understandable. No one appears to be speaking your native vampire or abyssal.
Wherever Bix dropped you, at least you are familiar with most of the denizens.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
((OH SNAP CHANGELING?! ANYTHING WITH CHANGELINGS I'M IN! CAN I ALSO MAKE MY CHANGELING BE A THIS HOMEBREW MIMIC CHANGELING? I just think it would be so cool))
Character Name: Gemini
True Form: Mimic Changeling (if you will)
Class: Cleric (Trickster Domain)
Pronouns: all pronouns he/she/they pretty interchangeably
Yesphira, in her half-elf disguise, faceplants into a wall.
"A little early to be that far gone, dear. Are you alright?", asks a feminine voice from behind you. Turning around you see you are in a tavern. There is bright sun coming in through the windows. The establishment is maybe half full. A raucous crowd of people all waring a sigiled sash.
There is a notice on the wall by the door "The Drunken Dragon, Clifftop, Upper Dura; Licensed..."
There is a plaque between two windows, "Congratulations to Pilltop! Champion! Race of Eight Winds!"
The young looking elven female with an apron and tied back hair is in front of you. "I didn't see you come in. What can I get for you."
(( You can eat and drink like any mortal, though food tastes very bland. You are immune to poison and venom. ))
(( You feed on souls, through bound contract. One minor contract could last you a week and the donor, shall we say, will likely survive. A major contract will last a month. That soul may not be long on the mortal plane. Each contract includes a minor though often twisted boon for the participant.))
Belgama, you land with a thud in a seat at a partially empty table. The four others at the table startled at your sudden appearance the burst out laughing. "Welcome! Welcome! Here, have a drink!"
This group is made up of a human, an elf, a half-elf, and something you don't quite recognize ((dwarf)).
There is light streaming in from your right.
To your left, in front of you, maybe thirty feet, one of Bix other companions, a Half-elf, Yes-something, is in conversation with a tavern wench.
(( You can eat and drink like any mortal, though food tastes very bland. You are resistant to poison and venom. And have an additional +4 to CON save and athletic checks.))
(( You feed by mauling and devouring a sentient mortal at least once a month. You get minor boons if you feed more often and penalties if you do not feed monthly. ))
Gemini, 'at least my gloves are intact', you think as you observe your surroundings. You are missing your right boot.
You are in a grassy midway with great temples lining both sides of this fairway. There is a wide cobblestone street on either side of the grassy midway.
(( You feed by mauling and devouring a sentient mortal at least once a month. You get minor boons if you feed more often and penalties if you do not feed monthly. ))
(( You are ravenous ))
'Where is that Morgrave University’s library Bix mentioned?', you think as you look around the meandering mortals. 'And who is lunch?'
Edmar - Do you attempt to feed on one of the napping mortals? What does that look like? Do you try to find out where you are?
(( You can NOT eat and drink like any mortal, food tastes like ash. You are immune to poison and venom.))
(( You feed on souls, through dreams and blood. One dream feeding could last you a week. One of blood two weeks. The donor will likely survive. You get an option to enthrall your meal DC 18 charisma. You get a minor boon if you completely devour the soul. DC 19 the body survives becoming a soulless enthralled. ))
Gemini looks around to get their bearings. They take a while before standing up. "Yeah this is gonna be weird,"they say, looking down at their missing boot. They outstretch the fingers on their hand (light brown, slightly hairy) to get a good sense of their form. Spinning, their long black hair reaches to their waist and slightly tickles their nose as they push it way from their face. They assume they have green eyes, at least that was what they were trying to shift into when suddenly Bix opened up the portal- or whatever it was he said it was. "Gods, Bix. Can't you just like chill for once? Give me a seconds first, that's all," they mumble bitterly as their stomach rumbles.
Stubbornly, they decide to walk with one boot towards the nearest building for lunch, or for directions, or maybe just buy a boot, who knows?
Belgama freezes for a moment as she’s overwhelmed by the mix of strange noises, smells, and sights. She relaxes a bit noticing Bix’s companion, “at least I’m not starting out totally abandoned here, thanks Bix,” she thought sarcastically. Since she was here, she might as well make the most of it, she was already curious about what the strange squat human was and how he might taste. Averting her gaze to hide her momentary flash of hunger, she grabbed the drink given to her and downed it grinning broadly. “Where is this damn place anyway?” She asked the group in rusty common.
Grim (Wraith/high elf) - You pop into existence with your foot firmly in a map bucket. Your head is spinning.
"Oh! You are like us, but not one of us. Can I help you?"
You open your eyes to see a human, but in their eyes and their aura, you know there are two spirits in front of you.
While you subjugated the original owner of the shell you are using long before this outing, the entity in front of you seems to be in some type of symbiosis.
(( You can eat and drink like any mortal, food tastes like it did to the original shell. You are not resistant to poison or venom. However, when this shell dies, you can attempt to possess a new mortal shell whether empty or not. You can also attempt to jump shells at will.))
((You feed on souls. One feeding could last you a week. The donor will likely survive. You get an option to possess your meal DC 18 charisma and a contested WIS check. You get a minor boon if you completely devour the soul.))
((You are ravenous.))
