My players are nearing the end of their adventure in Hoard of the Dragon Queen. I’m planning to continue the story with The Rise of Tiamat. However, not all have survived! That means there’s an opening for you! Do you have what it takes?
IMPORTANT: THIS WILL BE A LONG-TERM COMMITMENT!
The adventure The surviving players from HoD will make their way to Waterdeep where the Council of Waterdeep will be. The most powerful factions of the Sword Coast all recognize the significance of Tiamat’s possible return, and they are willing to cooperate with each other to prevent it. Trust doesn’t come easily for these disparate groups. But even for orders and organizations that have been in conflict in the past, the “enemy of my enemy” is easily understood. To coordinate their efforts against the Cult of the Dragon, the factions have sent important delegates for secret meetings in Waterdeep. My players from HoD now know as much as anyone about the cult’s activities, and their heroics have been brought to the attention of powerful leaders and earned them a place at the council table.
How to apply You can make a level 8 character, no multiclassing, you may choose a Background and take 1 additional feat. You may take 1 magical item (nothing OP) and decent equipment for a level 8 character. I’m using Milestones.
To make sure your character fits in the campaign it’s advised that your character is part of one the following factions: The Harpers - the Harpers retains its focus on gathering information, keeping a close watch on the balance of power in Faerûn, and promoting fairness and equality in quiet, unobtrusive ways. The Order of the Gauntlet - Holy warriors on a righteous quest to crush evil and promote justice, and they never hide in the shadows. Evil must be opposed openly and vanquished in the light of day, so that all can see and be emboldened by its destruction. The Emerald Enclave - the Emerald Enclave is dedicated to maintaining balance in the natural order and combating the forces that threaten that balance. Members of the enclave live in the wilderness or in small communities. The Lords’ Alliance - This organization was created and is led by leaders and nobles from across Faerûn. The rulers of Waterdeep, Silverymoon, Baldur’s Gate, and other cities, families, and trading houses of the Sword Coast might never set aside their differences, but they can pull together when the survival of all depends on it. The Zhentarim - also known as the Black Network. A loose affiliation of merchants, mercenaries, and malefactors. Unknown to all but a few, the heart of the Zhentarim is a cabal of evil and sometimes monstrous leaders. The Kobold King – King Eek the Good, first of his name. King of Kobolds, Protector of the Greenfields and Father of Dragons. A random Kobold that somehow made it to king because of the party's actions in Greenest. Unified the local Kobolds and allied to the governor of Greenest.
I’ll need a dndbeyond charactersheet: • Ability Scores: Reroll ones once, or point buy • Name: • Race: • Class: • Backstory: no novels • Character sheet: • Timezone: • How often you can post:
The other characters The current party has a Dwarven Cleric, a Dragonborn Roque and Human Arcane Warrior.
Good to know DM is usually online during CET office hours. Rolling in game log! I find the errors in the forum’s dice roller tiresome. I’m assuming basic knowledge of the Swordcoast. Like I said: this is a long-term commitment. HoD started about 2,5 years ago. The entire Tyranny of Dragons adventure is just one long railroad. To remedy this I’ll add personal sidequests and homebrew.
Do you allow the Illrigger class? Also, 2014 rules I assume?

He tends to listen from shadows and keep hidden when he can, but you can only learn just so much from only listening. He has heard of the great doings of the heros and has decided to try and lend his bow services to thier cause. At least that's what he wants everyone to believe. Name:Lucien Ravencroft Race: Human Class: Warlock (Fiend) Background: Faction Agent (Zhentarim) Backstory: Being the son of a wealthy Black Network merchant, Lucien was brought up to climb the zhentarim ladder and one day reach a position of true power within the organization. His family already having struck a bargain with a powerful devil, it was only natural for young Lucien to form a pact of his own, granting him the power needed for ascension through zhentarim ranks. His latest and so far greatest task for the Black Network is to do what is necessary to nip the growing threat of the resurging cult of the dragon in it's bud, before it seriously threatens trade and order in the zhentarim sphere of interest. To this end Lucien has travelled to Waterdeep to offer his services in the field to personally oversee that the good heroes of the Sword Coast make quick and ruthless work of this pesky and disruptive cult. He is quite aware that he will likely will be viewed with some suspicion but trusts his way with words and the greater good will be enough to make his mission run smoothly. Interestingly enough, that's a 27 point buy, paying 3 to go from 15 to 16. I'll have to consider if I can make that work as I try to build the character. Probably can . . ..
Have quite a bit to do to get a build right, so, no name, yet. Will be a Bard or Rogue, I think. Late birth son serving as a social spy type for the family pushing their agenda against their peerage.
I am Central US Time Zone.
I can normally post once daily. More if the timing is good and there's a back-and-forth going, but it would have to be evening my time for that to happen on a workday!
