Hey so ive played DnD before, im not very experienced but know enough about it and am going to start being a DM for a party of 4 other brand new player, now i realiss this may not have been the best idea considering how new it all is but i told them they could decide the theme, they chose wild west, how can i create a memorable campaign for them in a wild west theme https://9apps.ooo
For instance, take the moduile, "Lost Mine of Phandelver"
Describe the town as "Old West-y". Dusty streets, cowboys wearing stetsons, women wearing calico, rails to tie the horses, you've seen it in every cowboy movie & TV show ever made.
The bar has a piano player in a straw hat. The saloon gals have corsets & hose. The bad guy may pick a bar fight (while the piano player dodges thrown drinks but keeps playing)
Is the town reached by stage or rail? Since horses were so common (at least in media) you might want to make thrm cheaper or add them to starting gear. Add a stream with miners panning for gold. Do you want to keep the dragon or convert it to something more fitting? (remember "Valley of Gwangi"?)
How do you want to work swords? They were present, but mostly as sidearms for the cavalry. So not everybody had one, or even knew how to use one.
How do you want to work guns? As common as they were? Exclusive to artificers? You might want to try seeing how they work on a small scale first, after all, they're new here.
Races? Standard D&D? Limited?
Hope it helps

Convert the familiar to "Wild West"
