I began a homebrew play-by-post campaign months ago, and, as is often the case, a few players have disappeared from the adventure. I nearly abandoned the campaign altogether, but a little nudge from the players who are still involved has convinced me to continue the story. So, I would like to recruit a spell caster to replace the one that has been lost.
Please look over all the information below.
Regarding the DM...
I believe that quality role-playing is vital to making any D&D campaign enjoyable and successful, especially in the play-by-post format.
I strive to provide as much detail and accuracy as I can to the players. Ambiguity is a nasty enemy in any text-based game, I think.
I rely heavily on grid maps for combat.
Regarding the campaign...
It's a homebrew campaign that I began in April and you can check out the game thread here: The Windhovers' Call.
You certainly do NOT need to read the entire game thread, but you should look it over for a while to give yourself a feel for the style and tone of the adventure.
Currently, the characters are in Shadowfell; so you should probably familiarize yourself with that particular plane of existence.
The three characters that have been involved in the campaign from the beginning are Frandal Silvereyes (elf fighter), Ozum (gnome druid), and Arissa Antal (half-elf bard).
I also lost the player whose character was the melee fighter of the group, but that role has just been filled by Slasher (Kenku ranger).
The character that I need to replace is a sorcerer (May Xellos Mazoku rest in peace!)
Regarding your character...
My plan is to have the current adventurers find and release two characters who are currently being held captive in some way in Shadowfell. One of those captured characters will be yours. (This plot line fits well with what is currently happening in the adventure, and I will definitely discuss it more and add detail to it after a replacement character has been selected).
To fill the hole left by the sorcerer's absence, I believe your character should be a sorcerer, a wizard, or a warlock.
The current adventurers are level 9 or 10; so your character should be of similar strength and experience (level 8 minimum; level 10 maximum).
Your character can be any race.
Your character's alignment should NOT be evil.
For your character's ability scores, you can roll if you wish (6 scores, reroll ones once), or you can choose the point-buy or standard-array methods.
Your character may have one uncommon magic item and one rare magic item in his/her inventory.
Regarding the application process...
Creating a high level character takes time and effort; I don't want anyone to go through all that work for nothing. Therefore, please do NOT create your character yet. Character creation will take place after you've been selected.
If you're interested in jumping into this established campaign, then send me a PM that is a creative synopsis of how your character ended up being captured in Shadowfell. Make it interesting. Make it as long as you like. Have fun with it. But this is what I will use to make my decision.

Hello I wouldn't mind to join if the spot hasn't been filled I have made characters but can't really play in the other campaign due to me having prior arrangements.

Hi! I would like to join your game. Please let me know as soon as possible if I am selected so I can begin creating my character.
Hello! I wouldn't mind joining if you don't already have someone.

Replacement character has been found. Thanks, everyone. This thread is now closed.
