For the past several days, you have been traveling a road that winds lazily across the rolling grasslands of the Greenfields. You have all met one another at some point while on this journey through the Greenfields and have discovered that you are all destined for the town of Greenest. You have decided for one reason or another to continue your journey in each other's company. You know that you should only be a few short miles from Greenest at this point, and once you crest the hill in the distance that the road has steadily been rising to meet, you should be able to see the town.
(Feel free to introduce your characters and describe why it is that you find yourself on the road to Greenest.)

Dagella found his stride coming to a natural rhythm with the rest of the group. Travelling by the easy countryside had not been an unpleasant experience, the rolling grassland and the easy sunshine had been a welcome relief the usual drab and dreary surroundings of the temple confines and the continuous rainfall that beset them daily. It was a welcome relief to the crimson skinned Tiefling that he'd found some fellow wanderers who were heading for Greenrest. He'd heard of disturbances out that way and was determined to discover more. The old talon scar that ran from the base of his broken horn, raked across his eye and on down to his jawbone served as a jarring reminder of his purpose as it itched absently, a mere background annoyance. Smoothing the tabard of Kossuth that covered his armour, he cinched the straps that held his shield against his back and cast his gaze across the group.
"Thank you for allowing me to join you, fellow travellers. My name is Dagella J'Stal. Dag for short." he finished with a small smile. He'd had a smorgasbord of reactions to his demonic heritage over the years, though found they weren't too extreme.
The Human male Grixx takes up the rear of the group scanning the horizon for threats as a habit from his days as a Soldier. By looking at his face you see the look of someone who has not slept well in weeks but he manages to press onward. Though his body may appear worn his equipment though scarred is spotless. He wears chain mail and has two short swords by his sides. He is searching for his childhood friend Talis who allegedly has been kidnapped by a strange group of dragon cultists. From Grixx's time in the Army he knows there is strength in numbers so when he had the option to travel in a group he jumped at the chance. It did not hurt that by traveling with a group it allows him to blend in more...
Grixx acknowledges Dag and states, "I have learned that you can never have too many friends in times like these. You may call me Grixx. A friend of mine is missing and all signs point to Greenrest."Grixx looks down for a moment thinking of Talis and hoping that she is still alive and grimaces. He erases the expression and then looks back up to address the group.
"How about you all? What fates have brought us together?"
"How about you all? What fates have brought us together?"
Dag turns his attention to Grixx momentarily, appraising the warrior for a moment. Though his appearance is slightly haggard, Dag notices the well kept condition of his used equipment. A fighter who took good care of his weapons and armour was one that he was glad to find himself in a party with.
"Dragons." he replies simply.
"They gave me this" he adds, pointing at his grim scar. That wasn't the only thing that they left him with, but this travelling group of wanderers did not need to know that.
"With no home left to call me own, and naught but the strength of Kossuth as my guide, I hope to repay the favour where they are to be found. And some say that there have been sightings in the area. I hope to gain more information in Greenrest…" he concludes lamely, letting his words trail off.
Moments pass with nothing but the sound of sparsely chirping birds in the trees, and Dag looks back to the group with a sheepish grin, hand ruffling through his silver hair.
"But enough about me, what about this weather... right?"
Silk was sitting cross legged in tall grasses, watching the travellers march past along the road. With a grin on his face, he thought to himself, still got it.
Before the travellers got too far ahead, Silk stood and made his presence known, "Hail travellers! Would you happen to be heading to Greenest, as I am?"
A little guilty to surprise the party, Silk raised both empty hands in the air in a gesture of peace. Standing there, everyone sees a middle aged human man with short cropped brown hair just long enough to bring attention to the balding on top. He wore leathers, parts of them dyed a dark flat blue that matched his cloak. The remainder of the armor varied from charcoal grey to black. On his belt were a couple of daggers and an un strung bow was slung to his back.
"Mind if I join you for the rest of the way? I wouldn't mind some company and conversation."
A bit of a walk ahead of the now forming party, they can see something - rather someone small moving along the path dragging behind him a slightly-larger-than-him greataxe. "Hey! What the f- watch your damn step!" he shouts before dropping his axe on the ground behind him "Oh gods, I'm so sorry! Sometimes I just get so worked up over nothing!" Looking up at all the towering giants "My name is Fiznik!" The smaller than normal gnome appears to be under 3' tall. He has a peach complexion and has no hair on his head, instead he is covered in tattoos mimicking a goliath's darker patches of skins that they believed told them their fate - or is he himself just a tiny goliath?"Are you all headed to Greenest too?!"
Grixx becomes very alert at Dag' words. Dragons! Could this possibly be related to the cult he is in search of? Maybe fate really has brought them together.
Grixx is then surprised by the appearance of the Human Silk. He instinctively begins to reach for his short sword but sees that he comes in peace. Grixx is enraged at himself. He missed something again. He grits his teeth and stresses to himself that he has to get better. Before he can answer this stealthy human he is surprised once again by Finzik's shouting.
Grixx regains his composure and states to the two newcomers, "Well... It appears Greenest is popular this time of year! Please join us. The days seem to have grown longer the further we have traveled and I would love some new conversations to complete the journey. Are you traveling to Greenest for business or for pleasure?"
"Greenest is my home. I am returning for some rest and to spend my well earned coin." Silk drops his hands and strides onto the road, following the others. "Everyone calls me Silk. And what brings you all to Greenest?"
Grixx looks at Finzik's greataxe and then back at the gnome marveling at the strength the gnome must possess to wield a weapon so large compared his size.

"You may call me, Grixx. I am in search of a friend of mine who has gone missing. My investigation has lead me to Greenest." Grixx looks to Silk ."How long has it been since you were home, Silk?"
*** I should throw out there. It's not like a greataxe that a human would have, but it's not a greataxe meant for a gnome. It was probably crafted to be just right for a dwarf. So it's a little big on him, but it ain't huge like it would be if it was for a human or goliath! But standing up, the greataxe is definitely bigger than him!
"Just over a week. I took some rich brats out on a big game hunt. Looking forward to kicking my feet up with a good cold drink and a lovely masseuse to work the kinks out of my back." Silk wiggled his eyebrows, implying the kinks in his back isn't quite what he meant.
Grixx hesitates as he is not sure if he can trust everyone in the group but he cannot miss the chance of talking to a local of Greenest that may lead him to Talis.
”Have you noticed anything strange around town lately or heard any rumors of any seedy characters?”
A party of dragonborn have been following along. Their leader, a female warrior says, "I come to Greenest at the behest of the platinum dragon who guides my life. I am Zanrillakri Aurificus, Scion of House Aurificus, and these are my retainers. I do not know what fate awaits us in the town but I doubt it is as simple as it now seems." She is a gold dragonborn of noble bearing, dressed in finely decorated chainmail.

"Strange is normal in Greenest and there are seedy characters everywhere. You'll have to be more specific if you're looking for something." Silk shrugged as he answered.

Rather puzzled by the announcement, Silk volunteers, "You can expect the same fate in Greenest as you'd expect in any other town. This is turning into quite a bizarre day..."
Fiznik keeps a steady pace with the group, every 5 or so minutes running to catch back up before repeating this vicious cycle over and over until they finally get to Greenest.
Then slows his walk to be next to Silk. He then says to Silk in a lower than normal voice, “I believe cultists be responible for my friends disappearance ... Specifically, Dragon Cultists. Have you heard anything?”
Silk's eyes widen at the implications, "Cultists? There's a lot of crazies for sure, but dragon cultist kidnappers? I'm an investigator for hire occasionally, and no one has ever asked me to find anyone kidnapped by cultists."
