((This first post will be for you all to introduce your characters, and roleplay for a bit before we begin this campaign in earnest. Have fun!))
The setting is set. Five individuals find themselves i the same place, each with with their own personal intentions and goals. Whatever those are, they encounter each other here, in front of the forest. The scenery between where they are and the place they are headed is vast. They stand vibrant life, while the forest nearby is filled with ominous darkness...

Liam the Weak: Level 4 Human Fighter - Trying to fight against his other personality, and constantly losing.
Aodh: Level 20 Half-Elf Cleric of Life - Not really. It's a strange being that had possessed and broke down a level 20 Cleric of Life Domain, gaining his knowledge and power.
"*****": Level 1 Tiefling Sorcerer - Her family is dead, and her will is broken. She follows orders so that those that command her will allow her to die.
Stormbringer surveys his companions for this quest. He sighs loud enough for them to hear. He is upset that no one appears to be up to his social level.
Amvilla shrugged noncommittally. "When he gets around to the actual tormenting, then there'll be a problem. Until then...." The gnome kneels down and gently sets her lute on the grass, holding out a hand to a nearby rabbit.
Dromarch Tidesworth - aloof but aware - realizes the shenanigans unfolding before him represent the team he'll be working with to investigate the dark presence in the forest.
"Not the worst bunch of scallywags I've had the pleasure of working with," he admits, no great charmer himself. He watches the chase going down from the shade of a large birch, meticulously caring for his magic bow. He's a little standoffish, but polite and respectful when approached.
Before you is a dark forest with trees rising as much as a hundred feet into the air. Foreboding and Sorrow seem to emanate from within. Occasionally, shadowy creatures, only glimpsed, move among the trees. Slow, plaintive howls echo among the branches as a cool wind begins to blow, as if whispering barely discernible words...
"She has returned...She has returned...She has returned..."
The trees directly before you slowly part, forming a natural opening that leads into the shadowy woods beyond...

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dromarch strains his eyes to catch a proper sight of the shadowed things in motion, or else to see if there is anything that claims ownership of the voice in the wind.
Perception: 19
"I suppose this counts as an invitation. I'm going in. You all coming?" he advances cautiously, staying alert for danger.
Stormbringer, given his military background fancies himself the leader but he is no fool. He steps thoughtfully into the forest behind Gurp and Dromrach whilst sticking closely, maybe only a half step behind Lanben who seems to be in tune with the wild. Mindfully, wanting his back covered tells Amvilla, "come along, you."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
You all walk into the forest, bravely. The change in scenery becomes even more drastic as the light begins to dim enough for it to seem as if it was night time. The whispers only increase in volume, and surround the party as the entrance is left behind. A different sound may be heard. A soft weeping somewhere further down the path, but the source of the sound is hidden within the shadows of the trees...

Lanben is watching the forest for anything to come into he doesn't recognise.
Gurp zig-zag runs to the forest, chasing squirrels and rabbits. "Meez gonna gech you!" he shouts over and over.
Stormbringer surveys his companions for this quest. He sighs loud enough for them to hear. He is upset that no one appears to be up to his social level.
Gash - Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Lanben jumps off of the tree he is in and picks up the rabbit and says "leave this bunny alone." Turns around and puts it down.
"Youz no fun." Gurp says in a whiny voice
"Are you drunk?!" Lanben yells
"And if he is?" Amvilla asks with a grin. "Nothing wrong with a bit of fun!"
"Meez not sure if Gurp drunk. Me seem same both sobber and drunk." (FYI Grup is a Goblin, so this is his accent)
"It's a problem when your tormenting innocent little animal's. You probably are drunk because sorunk is not a thing."
OOC - ok Knowing he is a goblin helps.
It's a cool accent, especially through text!))

"Meez been in worse places. Don't get started on me aunt Lynz's outho... erm... home. Let's go.'" Gurp says nonchalantly.
"Let's go" Lanben says.

I want to try to find its origin.
