It was a dark and humid night, the lonely moon shone a pale light through the smoggy streets of Waterdeep. The many taverns along the way kept its doors and windows open in a attempt to let in a cool draft but only succeeded in adding to the humidity. The salty scent of the sea was the only relief from the smell of burnt tabac and street muck
Navana screwed her nose from the smell as she walked briskly, light footed, barely made a sound on the paved street. The same could not be said for the large Goliath marching at her side, his bare feet making loud slapping noises with each step.
"We are almost there" Navana breathed rounding a corner. This was the first time she had set foot in the Castle Ward of Waterdeep but if her source could be trusted there was a member of the Lords Alliance here tonight and with him a survivor.
"There" she points at the colourful wooden sign hanging in front of one of the better looking establishments. "'The Lilac Lover' that's where we will find them" The Goliath only nods in response before making his way inside.
Immediately the heaviness of the smoky interior hits and Navana finds herself in a coughing fit at the door. Recovering she scans the room as individuals who had looked up at their entrance returned to their food, drink and companionship. She wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for other than a Man and an Elf presumably together. Mostly men filled the hall but more then a few other races were mixed in among them.
"Can i help you love?" Calls a large middle aged lady from behind the counter as they approached, eyeing the Goliath.
Welcome to your campaign. Navana & Twentysix are active, Zhordon ill chat with you privately for now.
Navana you are looking for a man who is rumoured to be a member of the Lords Alliance who must have high power and authority and may be able to help you find out what happened to your home. More importantly you have heard with him is another survivor from the attack.
Ok. The Scene is set, the veil is gone, and the World is yours…… Be brave enough to claim it.
Zero darts his eyes across the room as the middle age lady asks her question. No sign of the elf or the alliance man from what he can gather. As he glances back to the conversation at hand he notices the Fey girl zooned out, he mumbles to himself "off with the fairy's again I see" slightly annoyed he turns at the lady and says " were looking for a an the elf accompanied by a man from the lord of the alliance. Do you kno their were abouts?"
As I enter the unfamiliar place I can't help but scout my surroundings. I notice eyes on me as I enter the room and investigate the eyes as if I knew who I was trying to find 'Mmm I wonder if that's who we are looking for' I think to myself as I notices a Elf like creature.
OOC - perception test on the elf that Navana notices. 15
Lost in my thoughts I didn't even notice a lady asking me a question and re gain my focus when I hear Zero's tone of voice as he relates me to the fairy's.
"Oh sorry Ma'am, but yes you can help. Do you know the man we are after?"
Navana - you scan the room, eyes eventually settling on an pale high elf with white hair and a blue tinge to his skin not far from where you stand. You lock eyes a moment and he smiles warmly, maybe a little too warmly, you turn away quickly once you realise the impression he was getting from you. You did not recognise him.
The Barkeep looks at you both in turn as you speak, eyebrows raised and the touches of an amused grin at the edges of her lips. "Well dearies i'm flattered that you think a member of the Lords Alliance would grace my humble waterhole" she smiles now and you see she is quite pretty despite her age and size "As for an elf.. well it looks like you're already sorted in that department dear" she winks at Navana as a second later you hear a soft "ahem" behind you.
Turning you see the elf you locked eyes with earlier, he stares a moment smiling before speaking quickly, voice soft and crisp "ah my apologies, i thought i recognised you but now i see you are far more beautiful than the very moon and stars i mistook you for" he lingers for half a heartbeat, his eyes intent on yours, watching as his comments sink in before continuing "oh i am a rambling fool" he bows swinging his arms out with a flourish "Ivellios at your call"
The Barkeep fills a mug from a barrel behind the bench and slides it across the counter to Zero. "on the house love" she smiles again, leans in close "Vulture" she says quietly indicating Ivellios and rolling her eyes. She turns back to you "Not often you see a Goliath in this part of town, Are you her protector or something?"

I let out a small chuckle when i heard the barkeep reefers me as her protector. I clutch the mug in one hand and take a small swig nearly downing the entire thing. Staring at what's left on the bottom of the mug i say in a low quiet tone for her ears only " that girl my seem like she can't handle her own but truth is iv witness reasons to believe otherwise" turning to the kind lady with a grin "to be honest I'm more worried for that vulture". I then proceed to skull the rest of the mug while keeping an unnoticed whatch full eye for navana
A feeling of disappointment arised as the barkeep has no information on the Lord Allience. However, I smile as she complements my completion but before I can utter a word the Elf I had noticed is suddenly a little to close for my liking.
Although Ivellios seems nice he also comes across as a fool. Even though he is an Elf I know he doesn't fall under my race just by the looks of him. However, my mother taught me better then to be rude, therefore I curtsey back to Ivellios. But still weary of his intentions.
Zero - You study Ivellios over your shoulder as Navana drops into a hesitant curtsy, he was dressed well but simply enough in a light grey tunic that flowed past his darker breeches with a royal blue sash draped over one shoulder and a long curved blade at his belt. His long white hair was swept back behind his ears and away from his grinning face, his yellowish eyes intent on Navana. Under his left eye, a deep scar that ran almost to his left ear, ruining what would have been otherwise flawless features. His eyes flick to you momentarily before quickly dismissing you and returning to Navana.
You grunt to yourself amused and as you go to turn back to order another mug full you notice another pair of eyes looking at you from across the room. A human man leaning halfway out the doorway of a room near the foot of the stairs locks eyes with you, flinches and ducks his head back in disappearing and closing the door quickly behind him.

still unsure about the weird vibe that Ivellios presents I turn back to the bar after I curtsy and order a drink with Zero, even though I didn't really want one.
As the human man disappears I can't help but grin at being amused " huh well this is interesting" I mutter to myself. as I get off the bar stool I leave a tip for the kind lady. "Thanks for your hospitality madam, its rare for a bieng of my race to be treated so kindly". I turn just slightly facing the closed door "Done with your fairy greeting traditions, it's time to move Navana". Then I start presenting to the door and opening it still grinning
As you begin to make your way to the door, Ivellios steps in your path "Hold, hold, hold” he says shaking his head. He addresses Navana’s back while his attention is locked squarely on the Goliath before him “Do not tell me you prefer the companionship of this beast over one of your own kind, Does it even have enough intelligence to communicate?” he says in disgust as he looks Zero up and down and then begins to speak in a slower, deliberate tone “leave now beast, this place is for the civilized, back to the pit that spawned you” as he speaks the three other men that were sharing his table, approach and stand at his side flexing their muscles.
He clearly just heard you speak and knows you are intelligent but is deliberately being a dick.

Zhordon - You look up from your warm broth as Devrik hurriedly steps back into the room closing shut the door behind him.
"My lord, a Goliath and an elf are asking for a member of the Lords Alliance" he addresses Sildar sitting across the table from you and reading from a small black book. "Ivellios is doing his thing now, what is it you would like me to do"
Sildar raises his head and sighs, he removes his round spectacles and tucks them away in a breast pocket along with the small book. Finally he speaks "it always amazes me how news spreads in this city" he shakes his head "Devrik are their intentions known? perhaps Ivellios can deter them but we don't want to cause a scene, its hard enough as it is to find a moments respite." he turns to you "Please finish your meal Master Elf, this is a regular occurrence i am afraid, ah the cost of enjoying establishments such as this i suppose."
Devrik pipes up again eyes flicking to you "ah my lord, they also made mention they were looking for an Elf"
Sildar thinks a moment "A Goliath and an Elf you say" Devrik nods "Well Zhordan, sound like someone you know? shall i have them sent in?"

Although I am shocked by the comment from Ivellios I try my best not to show it.
I know very well that Zero would not have liked it at all and react to Ivellios remark! But before he could even step a foot forward I step in front of Zero and smile ever so politely at Ivellios.
"Now now now, we dont want no trouble really. So why don't you just step aside and let us go. Plus we come as a two package deal, and I'm sure you wouldn't want to put up with the both of us now would you?"
I look up form my walm and delicious meal that have been so long since my last. I look at Sildar with hopefull eyes but a tired set at best wondering to myself "could...could it be?!" I try to sustain my emotions behind my words as I respond to Sildar "yes.. please do"
With a little hesitation I continue to my meal as my heart pounds with excitement but also fear of what could happen.

Ivellios frown deepens “first you insult my pride and now my chivalry? Step aside fair lady as I will not strike down a woman, this beast however” he points his finger in Zero’s face still addressing Navana “his kind are barbarians, little more than animals, do you know how many poor victims his kind have left behind for me to bury?” he finally turns to Zero, a menacing snarl upon his face as he leans in close “do you know how many of your kind I have slain?”
Goliaths are not uncommon but you definitely see less around in cities than humans, dwarves & elves. They are still mostly accepted in society just like orcs, tieflings and dragonborn are but traditionally Goliaths live in tribes in the harsh snowy mountains and its a real "only the strong survive" sort of life style in those tribes. Most tribes stick to themselves but some have been known to get violent especially to intruders upon their territory. This may be what Ivellios is referring to and stereotyping Zero as.

Zero’s Damage: Attack: 4
Zero’s head collides with lvellios’ face with a loud crack, almost sending him off of his feet. A rush of pure adrenaline and enjoyment rushes through Zero, his eyes widen, shining bright while his grin stretches wide across his face giving him a slight crazed look. Eyeing Ivellios’ fairy friends one by one, he utters the words back in a deep and powerful rumble “Do you know how many of your kind I have slain?"
Ivellios lackeys look to one another unsure as Ivellios himself nurses what seems to be a broken and bloody nose. He begins to chuckle, quietly at first but getting louder with each second. A sudden twist of his fingers, snapping his nose back into place as he lets out a howl of pain.
Zero you are enjoying every moment, as you watch this fairy struggle. Suddenly quick as a flash Ivellios retaliates lunging in, balled fist flying towards your face.
The speed of the attack takes you by surprise and your head snaps to the side by the sheer force of the blow pushing you back into the counter. You lift your hand to you lips and wipe at the blood protruding from your lips. You begin to tremble as excitement fills you. Looking up, Ivellios seemed to be gathering himself, a different man walks up, grabs him by the arm and begins whispering furiously in his ear, you recognise this man as the individual you saw watching you from the doorway across the hall.
Finally Ivellios nods and clears his throat "Well hit Beast but alas we must leave it blow for blow as apparently you are wanted" He speaks clearly despite the still bleeding nose and his eyes seem to hold a touch of respect that was previously absent. "You as well my lady, this way please" he bows his head in Navana's direction and extends a hand in invitation.
As I watch the fight unfold I start to raise my hand to say a spell. Before I could do so the fight was over and I see Ivellios reaching for me to take his hand! I am extremely confused if it is a trick but expect the invitation still keeping my guard up!
