The players are all unwanted children that have been raised by a loving dwarven couple in an orphanage that they run together. Although the players all get along and treat each other like a family, many of the nearby townsfolk mistrust and fear the players, which causes problems for them regularly. After many years the children are all adopted by the Dwarven couple and live their lives in relative peace until their parents turn up missing and it is up to their children (Now in their 20's) to find out what happened to only people willing to show them love and give them a chance.
This will be a campaign for 4 or 5 players.

***I plan to leave this open for a few days before making my decision***
Backstory: Darastrix doesn't remember much of life after hatching. Knowing only that he was alone. The rays of the fire from the sky keeping him warm during the summer, sheltered in the soft undergrowth near a small town. Needing to survive without any guidance he'd take without care from anything he wanted in the forests or even the town. Often getting in trouble, but Darastrix simply didn't know better and almost seemed as if he was unwilling to learn. Survival was all that mattered.
Ash grew up on the street. He never really knew a lot about his parents or family. He knows even less about his race. Taken in around the age of seven by the dwarven couple. Ash is a bit of a rake and comic relief among his monstrous siblings. He's the 'face man' and often gets them out of trouble with the villagers either through deception, persuasion, or the simple use of his natural talents at 'borrowing' faces.
Personality Traits: I fall in and out of love easily and am always pursuing someone. I have a joke for every occasion, especially occasions where humor is inappropriate.
Ideals: Friendship. Material goods come and go. Bonds of friendship last forever.
Bonds: I come from a noble family, and one day I’ll reclaim my lands and title from those who stole them from me.
Flaws: I can’t resist a pretty face. I can’t resist swindling people who are more powerful than me.
Background: Vruuk was not a very good bugbear. While he was quite sneaky and large and naturally strong for even his kin, he favored thinking and taking it easy far too much. Worse yet, he couldn't be bothered to bully the weaker races to obtain what he wanted when a pleasant conversation or trade with the local forest denizens. After they got over the freight of seeing him, and stopped shooting arrows at him. He learned a lot about bows and arrows though! This weakness became an excuse for bullying from his family until he had no choice but to flee. But Vruuk was not worried overly much. Now he had chance to visit city he overheard his "friends" were always complaining about. And maybe he find better family there!
Background: Claw was young when she was taken in by the kind dwarves. She was roaming the streets making a life for herself in anyway she could. Her Swiftstride nature made it easy for her to get away from the guards when she did get caught. One day she was caught stealing a loaf of bread and was cornered. When brought to trial, the Lawmaster gave her two options: 5 years labor in the mines, or banishment from the city. Claw chose the latter hoping to find some sort of safety in the neighboring towns and cities. That is when she met the kind people who took her in and gave her a nice home.
Post Frequency: atleast 2 times a day, if not more. Friday and Saturday will be atleast one (days off are for me to relax and be with my family.)
Personality:
PERSONALITY TRAITS
The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can’t do it. The first thing I do in a new place is note the locations of everything valuable—or where such things could be hidden.
IDEALS
Charity. I steal from the wealthy so that I can help people in need. (Good)
BONDS
Someone I loved died because of I mistake I made. That will never happen again.
FLAWS
If there’s a plan, I’ll forget it. If I don’t forget it, I’ll ignore it.
Background: Inssol doesn't remember what his parents looked like. All he could remember was the mask and the "Sun Book". The mask is what he wears every day, refusing to take it off for anything and the Sun Book is an old, beaten up magic book that played a huge part in helping him survive and teaching him common. He came across the dwarf couple in hopes they would give him an apple or two, playing a few tricks with rocks to help incite them. But, to his shock, they took him in. They asked why he keeps his mask and book so close at all times, but he never gave a straight answer. Inssol hopes that keeping them close would help remember his parents.
Personality: Inssol is studious by nature, but not the type that a wizard in training should be. Instead of focusing his time on learning of the arcane, Inssol takes notes of specific people, things, animals and even the weather and jots them down in a separate book. He uses it to, in a way, "write their lives". If Inssol can accurately write down how a person's entire day is going to play out, he will yip for joy. Obsessive is too generous of a word.
Personality Traits:
I’m convinced that people are always trying to steal my secrets.
IDEALS:
Emotions must not cloud our logical thinking
BONDS
I’ve been searching my whole life for the answer to a certain question.
FLAWS
I am easily distracted by the promise of information.
Pok’im Mon (the name he calls himself) was captured as a young cub by slavers, after he wandered he away from his encampment. The slavers sold him to a circus where the unscrupulous owners, thinking he was some sort of bear, through him into the bear cage. One of the female bears, having just lost her own cub, took pity on him and raised him. A popular form of entertainment amongst the villages that the circus used to visit was bear baiting, when the villages would spends hours poking the bears with sticks and cheering each other on with the cry - “Pok’im mon”. Pokim can neither read or write and speaks a smattering of Goblin (his mother tongue), Orcish, the circus owners used to yell at him in this language as well as Common. One day during a particularly rough bear baiting session, a stick went into the eye of Pok’im’s bear mother killing her. Pok’im went berserk and was only restrained with great difficulty. He was chained to a large pole and just as the first spear was about to be thrown at him, a voice cried out “Stop in the name of ???” and [insert description of Dwarf Stepfather, walked up.] The circus owner said “well if you want the beast, he’s all yours”.
Personality Traits I was raised by bears and watch over my friends as if they were a litter of newborn cubs.
Ideals I am a free spirit, only [insert name of Dwarf step father or another character that Pok’im Mon looks up to] can tell me what to do. If anybody else tells me I get angry.
Bonds [insert name of Dwarf step father] saved my life once and I have had a premonition that he is in great danger and I will do anything to prevent it. To this day, I will never leave a friend behind.
Flaws I am slow to trust members of other races, tribes, and societies and violence is my answer to almost any challenge but those who fight beside me are those worth dying for.
Posting Regularity: I live in Manila and so am 13 hours ahead of folks in the Eastern US. The half-day difference means that I am on in the mornings when others are on in the evenings. I currently DM two PbP campaigns (Storm King's Thunder - The Gods Respond [an all Cleric campaign]) and Princes of the Apocalypse. Making two posts a day is easy for me.
Background: She was born among her own people but her birth was viewed as a bad omen. The priests of the Yuan-ti cast her out and left her in the wilderness to die. She was found by am adventurer, who took her back to a city and left her at the orphanage run by the dwarven couple. Growing up was difficult. She had to learn what emotions were and how to deal with them even when she herself did not feel them. She may not "love" her family in the traditional sense, but it is important to her, and she will defend it.
Personality traits:
I am always calm, no matter what the situation. I never raise my voice or let my emotions control me.
I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest often have the most to hide.
People. I’m loyal to my friends, not to any ideals, and everyone else can take a trip down the Styx for all I care. (Neutral)
My ill-gotten gains go to support my family.
I turn tail and run when things look bad.
Posting regularity: I can easily post 2 to 3 times a day.
So far we have some good entries, I plan to choose the players probably sometime Friday or saturday so if anyone else is interested or has questions please post your character ideas and PM me if you have questions.
Aroon's never met his parents. He was dropped at the doorstep of the Dwarven Orphanage when he was a baby (or so the story goes). He is the "Big Brother" type to his adopted siblings always trying keep them out of trouble and takes responsibility when they when they get into it. He's gotten in more then a few fights with local kids and adults trying to defend the honour of his adopted siblings and parents.
Personality Traits
I’m convinced that people are always trying to steal my secrets.
I’m used to helping out those who aren’t as smart as I am, and I patiently explain anything and everything to others.
Ideals
Self-Improvement. The goal of a life of study is the betterment of oneself. (Any)
Bonds
I have an ancient text that holds terrible secrets that must not fall into the wrong hands.
Flaws
I can’t keep a secret to save my life, or anyone else’s.
So I want to thank everyone for their submissions, I would have let everyone know sooner but I was debating as to how many people to invite. The players have been picked and I want to thank you all again for your submissions!
