Hi,
I am a relatively experienced DM and have wanted to run ToA for a while. I have never tried to run a PbP before, so this may be a little bumpy at first.
Anyone interested in playing can post a character. Use 4d6 (drop the lowest) for your ability scores. Point buy and Standard array are also fine if you can prove you that you actually used them. You can rearrange your scores if you would like to.
Make sure to use the dice rolling tool (Ex. Ability scores: 991591016) for your ability scores.
You will be starting at level one. All official character options (including the Blood Hunter class) are welcome.
4 or 5 characters will be chosen
Post a link to your character as well as a short description in the comments.

Eomund has spend his life in the woodlands, first learning to hunt game and then later on the unnatural monsters lurking around his home. He has earned a small reputation for being able to scout out and find Orc and Goblin encampments when the creatures try to hide out in woodlands that should be safe.
Born in the slave pen's in the Underdark. Dukni was destined for a Life of Slavery. He was rescued by a Male Dominate Mercenary faction and taken to the surface to be raised by humans. His parents were followers of Mask, one a thief the other a bard. Dukni followed the beliefs so well he found himself one of the faithful, and started traveling the world stealing and collecting riches in Masks name.
Jerico is a wealthy Doctor, or was. He used to be able to bring people from the Brink of Death, and revive them, for a cost, of course. Except it wasnt him doing the work, it was his grandpa, a halfling. His Grandpa, who died later, came back as a Revenant. His Grandpa was a mighty hero, master of the Sun Blade, a weapon capable of smiting the undead and foul demons. Jerico was a half halfling, half Kobold. But once the curse came around, Jerico was left without a job, being kept from his work. His Grandpa later died too, once again suffering. As a final breath, he gave the magic keeping him alive to Jerico, and gave him the Sun Blade. His home felt he was too incapable of wielding it, however, and locked it up in a safe and buried it in fear. Jericho now wields the power of his undying grandfather, John DeDie, and is trying to find a way to stop the curse and train to gain his Sun Blade back where it belongs.
I'm going with point buy instead. Not a good roll on my ability scores.

Background: Folk Hero
Backstory: Valia hails from A forest deep in Faerun. Much of his clan still live in the area, but precise numbers are unknown. He has been mostly alone as long as he can remember. Valia lives off the land to sustain, clothe and arm himself. Lately, though, Valia has been inching closer and closer to civilizations to learn more about the residents in large cities. An ever curious fellow, Valia has a focus on increasing his knowledge.
Description: Valia wears a natural cloth clothing that has been tinted a brown color to match his forest home. Over his clothing is a short green cloak. Handmade leather shoes cover his feet. He also carries a small wooden shield to protect his thin body. In the other hand is a short scimitar with a leather-wrapped handle.
A wee bit about Benny: Benny seeks money, plain and simple. He is the estranged son of a noble back in Waterdeep, and spent a lot of his childhood getting into trouble and committing petty theft. Eventually, his pop had had enough, faked his death, and sent Benny to an orphanage so he could retire in luxury. Benny eventually just skedaddled out of the orphanage and continued his life of greed, gambling, and petty crime. He thinks that he could make tons of money in Chult, with all the ruins and all that jazz.
Character Name: Adran Gala Race: Dark Elf Class: Monk Background: Adran stands at 5' 3", has white hair, white eyes and due to the darkness of the cave he lived in, skin a dark grey. He wears hooded robes and is always lurking around. He always carries around a spear that was used by his parents as he was told that it is known to possess certain powers but will only show those powers to those who are worthy. After living in caves for a portion of his life, he felt the loneliness was no way to live. He felt a need to go out and help others, like this family and clan had helped him.
I dropped some of those in the interest of keeping things interesting. hope that's okay

Background: After living a fairly stable childhood as the son of a merchant in a growing town, he could see a future of following in his father's footsteps clearly ahead of him. Life continued as normal until his father died of a mysterious illness. Two weeks later, Jasuris father rose from the grave he had dug in their backyard and killed everyone in the house except him and his younger sister. Unable to face his home city without being visited by memories of his dead parents, he left a note for his sister and fled to a temple, where he discovered he had a knack for spellcraft. When he discovered his sister had tracked him down, he fled once again, this time to Chult, guilty, but unable to face her after abandoning her. (If anything doesn't fit let me know and I'll change it)
I realised I instinctively clicked 'Reroll 1's Once'. So here are my new ability rolls. I am not deleting the old ones to avoid the 'Dice Result Manipulation' Error.

Class: Wizard (Will be Evocation)
Backstory: Henry Clarke is an eccentric older wizard who believes there is great power to be obtained in the combination of fire and water magic. He likes to be called the Scalding Steam but only reminds people to call him that several times before giving up. Whilst he will use any knowledge he can find to further his understanding in this field, he only trusts information (no matter how well recognized a book or scroll may be by other academics) and facts that he can prove himself. So he has spent most of his time out in the wilderness by himself testing his magic.
Ability scores: 11 11 12 14 12 16 (I went with point buy, if that's not okay I can always roll)

Race: Fallen Aasimar
Class: Sorcerer
Backstory: Muuradar was being trained to become a normal aasimar, but began to learn about other powers in the world that seemed to be capable of so much more than what he was being told he had to do. Thus he fell while researching darker arts and ways to coerce primordials and other creatures to his own whim. Thus he was cast out and now seeks out new sources of power and adventure.

Being the only child in a group of middle aged to older men who never had kids he was given more freedom than an initiate would have been. Eventually it became clear to all that the right thing was to pursue a life of adventure. The monks and Ja'Tall hoped he had learned enough...
