Seeking 3-7 adventurers for "Winter's Splendor", a short one-shot holiday adventure. The ideal party size for this adventure is five 3rd level characters, so new characters will come into this adventure at 3rd level, but I may also accept characters from anywhere between 1st and 4th level and balance the adventure appropriately.
This is a quick "two hour" adventure in person, so if you have been wanting to give PbP a try but don't know yet if you want to commit to a long-running campaign, this is a great opportunity to test the waters.
If you are interested after reading the details below, please reply here or in a PM. Include the race/class you would like to play, and a short background summary. At the start of the adventure, you will be in Waterdeep's Sea Ward enjoying the Midwinter Gala festivities.
Standard Array, Point Buy, and “Roll 4d6 Drop Lowest” are all acceptable, but if you are using rolls, those rolls must be made here or in a PM, and there are no rerolls allowed. Rolling is a gamble, if you don't want to chance lower-than-average scores, take the Standard Array or use Point Buy.
Any alignment is acceptable for this campaign, but I will trust the players to roleplay well within a party. Make sure that chaotic neutral is fun for everybody, not just the chaotic neutral.
About The Campaign:
- This adventure has a fair balance of exploration, combat, and puzzles, but the emphasis is definitely on the puzzles.
About The DM:
- I started playing D&D with 5E. I DM for three groups and run three PbP adventures, and very much enjoy how PbP campaigns allow groups of people to come together and create an awesome story.
- I can update my PbP campaigns up to three times a day on most days, but will not advance the campaign without giving each player 24 hours to post, unless it is a situation where only one or two players' input is necessary to advance. With your response, please send me a PM that includes the phrase “Sunbringer's light” so I know I will have players with attention to detail.
- I prefer PbP campaigns that read nicely, so I stick with Theater of the Mind for PbP and provide as much information as I can, rather than use an external tool for placement on maps. I also roll initiative in groups so that rounds of combat can progress as quickly as possible.
- I use rolls over averages. Enemy/NPC health is rolled, all damage is rolled, and character HP gains will be rolled when they level up.
- Your characters can die. I don't fudge rolls, so don't be reckless.
Hi, are you still looking for players? If so, what classes/roles are currently covered?
Well, here's a rough character concept: Dalig Blackbraid, dwarven cleric of the War domain; he worships Tempus who I presume, like many war gods, endorses drinking and revelry.
I'd be interested in getting in on a quick game. And I'll give rolling a shot.

Nigel Dresden is a slim build human in his early thirties, a renowned "wizard detective" by trade. It is normal for him to travel with companion due to his frailties, but his genius can't go unnoticed. Nigel's main focus is to build his knowledge and solve crimes of other unworldly nature.

I started with D&D, and then moved to AD&D (78-83) and then started again with 5e earlier this year. When would you run it? Sounds like a live action PbP?
I would be interested in playing. I actually like the Generate Random Character feature here on DnD Beyond for 1 shots. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get.
