I am looking for a group of 4 to play through The Tomb of Anhilation adventure. After I have chosen the players, I will make a separate thread for the adventure, along with an Out of Character chat. To join, just submit a Lv. 1 5e character in this discussion. As far as character generation goes, I have a couple of rulea. Use point buy for stats, anything availabe on D&D Beyond is fair game, please discuss any homebrew material you would like to use, and please give me a reason for why your character night be motivated to go on such a wild adventure.
Thrann Wildhammer is a dwarven barbarian who loves to fight and has been eager to explore the world outside of the mountain he was raised in. Thrann is determined to discover the cause of the problem that's sprung and seeks to be glorified by conquering the task. Wielding a massive maul that he's named Skullcrusher, he seeks to use the weapon to honor its namesake.
Also, I work a third shift job, Wednesday through Sunday from 10 pm to 7 am. Thought you should know just incase if you plan to post throughout the day, I might be asleep.
Rani had to get out of town after her mentor was killed. She joined up with the first party of adventurers she met as she was drawn to the riches that could be gained. She's light on her feet, preferring to shoot from range rather than get up close and personal
Quick backstory: Was traveling on the road with his parents years back, and sneaking down to the kitchen for snacks when the Inn caught fire. Everyone but him died. He was orphaned in Waterdeep, spending some time in orphanages, but mostly alone, until he broke into the house of a mage, who saw something in him and taught him a couple simple spells.
Rhukis Kettlebeard, at yer service. A drwarven student of the magical arts. No one around here has been taking my arcane research seriously and its time I move on. Probably doesn't help when I smash their toes with the back end of my axe, but that's neither here nor there. Look, I can hold my own at the forge or with my blade (what dwarf can't?), but all I really want to do is...er...well, blow stuff up. With fireballs. And magic. Magic fireballs. I need coin for research and components and I hear there's a tomb what needs plundering. Might even find myself some scrolls or wands of some such.
Current History: Alden has found himself deep within the woods for the last few months, finally finding the paladins and learning of their beliefs, tennants, ethics and lifestyle. He has become dedicated, motivated and hopeful that one day, he may be able to gain the blessing of the gods.
He has taken his first steps, proving himself as able to be a conduit for the gods, by allowing him to heal others a little, just by touching them with his hands. He also can sense those of evil alignment and the undead, like the smell of manure. He was also taught to look for signs from the higher beings.
It was not long that he saw one, birds, a large mass of birds, flying away from something or somewhere. He looked to the skies, nodded his head and headed towards the direction of where the birds were fleeing from.
