Tiny background: you all know each other well, you basically have just graduated from “college” together, where you’ve gained enough skill in your class to be considered first level. You all stuck together and helped each other keep your heads above water. It paid off- in fact, you are the top scorers of your school, which means you will be clamored for by the organizations that guide all: the guilds.
You don’t know much about each guild, education doesn’t teach them to remain impartial. You do know, however, that they are widely important and that rising though their ranks is a path to great fame.
Your graduate ceremony was held right before the event you partake in right now: the Interguild Recruitment Ceremony, a time where the guilds put away any resentment and celebrate the maturity of new graduates.
You stand in the plaza, facing a barrage of colors, noises, and smells, each hosted under 10 equally-spaced areas, each under the ornate banner of a guild.
Here are the list of guilds: Azorius, Boros, Dimir, Golgari, Gruul, Izzet, Orzhov, Rakdos, Selesnya, Simic. You can name one to go look at it, or make an overall check to see what draws your eye.
I will wait 3 days to move on in this one due to it being the first one (unless you all are faring to go). I’ll do a tiny intro for each character:
nschrock: The dwarf Einkil Loderr grew up on the streets, without a home, or more significantly, anyone he could call a relative. He became motivated and rose from the streets, not just out of survival but also to find his family. When asked to choose a path for his skills, he chose the path of bloodhunter, using one of the few things his parents gave him to make a change in the world.
ThatOneOFFTopicPerson: Ergos the goblin monk searches for truth in a world of subjectivity. His channeling of ki via alchemy allows him to test the limits of the world and personal energy, and to find the truth in all things.
fsdg: Kotidar knows that one can’t simply ask others to be just - justice must be driven by hand. It’s why he picks up arms as a fighter to try to protect the weak and defy the strong - until you get on his bad side, that is.
Papa_L_Diablo: The perpetual tick of law and order runs Andrea’s blood. When law is not preserved, her blood boils so that she may take up arms for the law (Clockwork Soul Sorceror).
If you think more needs to be said about your character, do so below alongside any actions. Thank you all again for joining!
Einkil is a thick, muscly dwarf in scale mail over a set of thick blue trousers and a hooded sweater, with thick leather gloves and boots. He walks with a pack full of items which he still isn’t quite used to hauling around, but his hammer and crossbow have just enough wear and tear to indicate he’s using them. He has blue eyes, and a full bushy beard hiding his face that’s brown with hints of red.
Andrea rolls her eyes at Einkil, “that’s just like Einkil, always rushing off head first without knowing where he’s really going.” She turns to the rest of the group with a smirk on her face. It’s obvious she is only being playful. Then she takes a moment to look around at each of the guild banners to see if there is anything that catches her eye.
Andrea is a tall and slender young woman, human, with equally long white hair. On the left side of her head her hair is cut close to the skin, it’s dark blue on this side. A single dark blue streak extends into the full length of her hair on the long white side as well. Her bright blue eyes sparkle in the light, and upon closer inspection seem to have the golden hands of a clock constantly ticking in both of them. She prefers to wear colorful cloaks over her ordinary clothing. Today she is wearing a lavender one, with a single white stripe on each side.

Einkil walks up to the white and black banner with a sunburst logo clearly labeled “Church of Orzhov”. As you approach, you see people dressed like priests, currently paying their respects to a gigantic altar with the same sunburst logo. As they pay their respects, you hear a choir, but can’t see where it comes from. But as more and more voices join in, you see hundreds of ghosts, seemingly coming down from paradise to celebrate the virtuous and faithful. They begin to decrescendo when they see you and the priests walk to their small counter
”Thank you for taking the time to visit our loving family. Could I ask your name?”
(I’m going to assume you give it to them)
”Loderr? Please wait a moment,” they say while doing something on an apparatus all the tables have. As they seem to finish they suddenly gasp.
“You are a descendant of our holy family of Obzedat! Please pardon our rudeness, your honor.” They bow to you before rising again. “Thank you for your visitation, holy one.”

It’s obvious she is only being playful. Then she takes a moment to look around at each of the guild banners to see if there is anything that catches her eye.
All of the banners have colors of two stripes, but they vary on which banner it is. For each booth you see (in order of eye-catching): (going to edit soon)
Red-Black: A mask with two colors seems to adorn the name “Cult of Rakdos”. As you look underneath, you become enraptured by a fiery spectacle. Entertainers dressed in red-and-black jester costumes take turns between manning their counter and participating in making music, juggling flaming pins and stoking a gigantic fire with statues of the logo and a demonic figure adorned underneath. It’s enthralling for sure, but very disruptive.
Red-Blue: Underneath a banner of a slick red-and-blue dragon seemingly attaining knowledge with the styled letters “Izzet League”, you see all kinds of inventions and gizmos - one-pilot walking constructs, (inoperational) weapons, and poles crackling with magical energy. A team of goblins scuttle through their little workshop excitingly, proud of their works.
Blue-Green: A logo between a tree and a wave accompanies the booth of the Simic Combine. You can draw parallels between the Izzet and Simic: they both have interesting scientific works throughout their booth. There are glaring differences however: the Simic seem to carry themselves with more grace and haughtiness, and everything seems carefully arranged compared to the disorder of the Izzet. The hugest difference, however, is the content of their displays. Instead of technology, the Simic present miracles of life - hybrid creatures. Some of the presenters even take on tendencies of animals
Blue-White: You see the logo of a circle within a triangle, supposedly to identify the Azorius Senate. Those manning the booth are officially dressed in the same blue and white color scheme. You see people clamor around a very detailed hologram. You feel the power of order emanating from your blood by its very presence.
Red-Green: the Gruul Clans identify themselves by several symbols, but the most prominent is a bundle of sticks on fire. Their booths contains all kinds of savage merriment: hunting, fishing, and roasting their kills
Blue-Black: the most intriguing aspect about House Dimir is it’s banner. A brain fashioned like a spider has one eye open above a hugely printed “HOUSE DIMIR WATCHES FOR TRUTH”. You see recording technology around the booth.
Red-White: Armored soldiers stand before the booth for the Boros Legion, silhouetted by a white fist against a red sun. Most importantly, you see proud angels with flaming swords, ready to protect the weak.
White-Green: a tree stands prominently to uphold the Selesnya Conclave, both on their logo and in their booth. There, caretakers meditate peacefully.
Green-Black: An insect’s head adorns the banner of the Golgari Swarm. Its custodians dress in black.
“I believe my holiness knew exactly where he was going. Apparently.” Einkil is blinking a bit in disbelief, but definitely feels the truth of this new reality. “But clearly not for yo, Andrea. Go. Keep looking, and come find me.”
Kotidar is a human, his height just a little below average. His skin is in the exact shade between fair and dark, and his hands are delicate, though noticeable. He is wear a shiny scale plate, though his clothes (those under the armor) are quite worn and indicate his belonging to the lower class, which would raises wonders about the origin of his armor. His face is well-shaven, and quite handsome, his blonde hair is a little longer than usual, and his blue eyes along with his sculpted features give him the appearance of a well-carved statue.
He, too, like Andrea , stares at the guilds symbols. Kotidar has always been a minority in words, but has always remained loyal to his friends. "I think that it would be good for us to choose together, isn't it? The separation can lead us to our defeat." As he says this(He has a tendency to be dramatic), he pulls out his gleaming rapier, also raising a question about Kotidar's origin. He leans the tip of the rapier to the floor, leaning against it.

A 3'4" tall goblin can be seen at the tail-end of the group, while looking to be in some discomfort from the unfamiliar faces, staying close enough to the group to be seen within a glance. The goblin has brown eyes, a shade of light orange for skin color, yet one of his few definining features would be the ear-length silver hair that is kept back not to be overbearing in its light color. Donning a smoothened leather tunic in a gray color, also bringing a backpack that they somewhat struggle to carry with their lack of physical form and muscle. The pack seems to entirely fitted for his needs to be readily accessible with the use of some deep pocketing and strap-ons bearing a lack of distinct color excluding the leafy green tint. On a waist-belt, there is a sheathe that seems to properly suspend itself in space that carries what seems to be a long stick with a pointed metal-spearhad that is 3/4's of his height.
Ergos looks to the rest of the group and speaks in a confided tone, "Honestly I could not expect such a large—gathering to take place," He catches some gazes toward the Izzet guild and continues "If it will comfort your thoughts, lest I to be in your thoughts, I will move towards there with my folk and come back when a decision is made from all of us in any way." After pointing to the red-blue banner, he moves himself to the Izzet guild's area to provide a closer perspective.

You approach the Izzet booth and your kin. As you stand marveling the new inventions, you feel a tap on your shoulder. You turn around to see one of the members, looking at you with a cool excitement. “Didn’t think I’d see a fellow alchemist here,” he exclaims as he gestures at your (obviously alchemical to the trained eye) pack. My formal name is Arrnixxmonx, but at the L-O-A they call me Antimony. What’s yours?”
(Going to assume you give your name and ask what LOA is but can edit.)
”Oh, it’s the Labratory of Alchemy. Sorry, I always forget that you grads have no idea how Izzet works. We have sublabs all through the city-state, but they all feed through major labs and then to our guildhall of Nivix. Unless you’re working on a really special and secret project, you work on whatever’s going on in your field’s main laboratory. You know, if you join us, I think you’ll enjoy it. We understand if you want to switch guilds once you start. “
"Deal," says Kotidar. "Each to himself, and we will come to a joint decision". The human goes towards the area of the Boros Legion, carrying his rapier with pride. He raises an eyebrow at Andrea, seeing that she has not chosen a guild for herself, as the rest.

Einkil turns back to the Orzhov members. “How do you know this? What is this place?”
(just wanted to get a few more details and then I’m ready to go)
The woman standing at the counter looks quizzical. “You don’t know... please wait a moment more, your holiness.” She goes back to navigating her apparatus until a mixture of surprise, understanding, and perhaps pity sweeps across her face. “My sincerest apologies for not clarifying, your holiness. What I was interacting with is technology created by the Izzet and managed by the Azorius. It takes your grades and converts them into a ranking system. However, we also have our own Heritage system that we use to identify bloodlines - we like to make sure those of holy blood, like you, know where they would be welcomed with open arms. “As for what this guild is? The holy family of Obzedat has been gracious enough to run a church and charity system to bring everyone into divine light. In addition to our obvious religious services (including guided prayer, safe sanctuary, and confession), we also manage the best finance system in Ravnica - even though Azorius and Boros are trying to take these roles, we have had the best mints, banks, and vaults for millennia.”
“I think my choice is clear then. The Obzedat have answers, and a path. Where do I sign?” Einkil is looking at the apparatus the acolyte used to see how it works. “And when can someone show me precisely what it was my parents were up to?”

“Sorry your holiness, you can only register after the guildmasters’ speech. As for your parents... you’ll have to find someone with more information.” As you are looking at the apparatus you see “IDB” under the status of your parents.
(Btw once we wrap up I’ll have a little director’s narration where I reveal secrets. Your parents will be one of them. But I’m glad you caught on that she knows more about your parents than you do.)
((No need to edit, Ergos would have asked and provided his name))
Ergos listens in detail to the person, showing an expression of interest and relief as they continue on. "Would it be uneccesary to ask how these projects are managed? I do see that this guild would fit for myself." Ergos is at ease with the sight of a fellow alchemist.

Will reply soon. Who made this?”
