Name: Org
Race: Half Orc
Class: Monk
Background: Gladiator
Backstory: Org was the product of an Orc raider and a local farm girl. When the girl's father found out she was pregnant, he assumed it was the that local boy Varn, who he had been seeing hanging around his girl. Varn's family denied their son's involvement and the daughter kept to her father's will, afraid to tell him the truth. When Org was born all his grandfather could say was "That's 1 ugly boy". Org's mother eventually left, leaving her father to care for Org and Org had a normal farm life, for a half orc but, on the day his grandfather took him to the circus Org's life changed. Org watched in wonder at all the entertainer, their daring and skill. Two days later Org left home and joined the circus. The first couple of years Org had trouble fitting in until the owner started capitalizing on Org's tendency for violence. Org started training and a short year later one could hear "Come one come all, pit your skill against the 10th wonder of the world, Org the Brute". Org reveled in the fame it brought him, the fans, the money! It was all he could ever dream of. But, such success comes with a price and a fated fight with a local nobles son that ended in tragedy put Org and the circus on the run. Org was forced to part ways with the circus and he hasn't seen them since. Then Gundren Rockseeker came along. The dwarf offered Org a job, one Org knew he could do. Guard stuff and beat people up. So Org has set out on this new life with some gusto because deep down Org knows he is one thing, a Hero.
Note: One of Org's prized possessions is his bongo drum.
DnD experience: a few years. Owned the Original DM guide at one time-the pamphlet. I have played and DM'd before and thinking about running a few games in the future.
PbP experience: most of it on this site, been a few months.
Application: - Character Name: Gialine Highoth - Character Class: Warlock - Character Race: High Elf - Character Background: Noble - Connection to Gundren Rockseeker (a dwarf who wants to hire you to escort a wagon of supplies from Neverwinter to Phandalin): Gundren offered Lady Highoth a safe passage to get away from Neverwinter to start a new life in Phandalin without family interference or judgmental looks.
The backstory for DM:
Lady Gialine Highoth, born into a wealthy aristocratic family found life pretty tedious and mundane. Ever since a young age, she always daydreamed that one day she would have an adventure, often playing adventure games with the other children in the city. However, a dark secret hangs over the Highoth Family. Her Great Grandfather was not a rich man but a foolish one, he traded his soul to the Great Old One for social status and monetary gain. What he didn't know is the pact made extended across to the future generations of Highoth and Gialine was no exception. When she turned 18. her appearance changed and the voice whispers to her in her sleep. Gialine decided to leave for Phandalin in hopes of breaking the hold her deity has over her.
- Experience with DND: I have been playing for a little over 2 years on and off. I am currently in a tabletop campaign in a homebrew setting and I am quite enjoying it. I have DM'd one session of SKT and to be honest, I was way out of my depth but others had extremely good fun with it. - Experience with PBP: This will be the first time but I think I understand what is required from myself. - Rank from 1-10 the aspects that you like about DND. 1 is least favorite, 10 is most favorite (everything can be 1 or 10 if that's what you like):

Application: - Ability scores: 141817151414 - Character Name: Helgrid Dumathakoin-
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Character Class: Paladin
- Character Background: Knight - Connection to Gundren Rockseeker (a dwarf who wants to hire you to escort a wagon of supplies from Neverwinter to Phandalin): Helgrid owes a small debt to one of her cousins, after a drunken evening upon completion of her training caused significant property damage. To repay the debt and restore the good standing of her family with their extended kin, Helgrid was instructed to reach out to her cousin's uncle, Gundren Rockseeker, about an escort job. - Experience with DND: Almost 30 years and multiple editions, formats, and styles of play. Being against that, Naguk convinced him to stop the operation. They are a little tense of a relationship, but he is willing to do the job.
Backstory: Naguk was kicked out of his goblinoid host, blamed for being to soft and caring towards humanity. He was taken in by a rich merchant, Silas Goldhand, who was understanding to even monsters like Naguk. He took him in, and taught him many things, like painting, music. But Naguk always loved maps, and took up cartography. When he was older, he would work for Silas. But Silas became jealous. He was growing old and frail, while Naguk was prospering. He had Naguk do grunt work, even commit crimes, like mugging. It was in a downhill spiral. Finally, Silas sent him on a job in the forest. But it was a trick. He was attacked by his men. He would have died, if not for a bunch of forest critters and animals. He escaped, and was healed, by a Druid, who took care of the forest. He called himself “ The Father Tree “. He learned the ways of the forest. But he saw that the animals were defenceless. So he took up the ways of a barbarian warrior. His skills would be tested, when a group of Silas’s men tried to burn the forest. He helped reroute a nearby river to wash them away. Ever since, he protects animals that are in danger. Now he roams the land, helping people, and helping the forest.

In return, Gundren would provide coin or indulge Hortix's fascination of the arcane by granting him access to places Hortix would otherwise not be allowed.

Tildenn met Gudren in a tavern in Neverwinter soon after being discharged. Gudren is offering him employment as a caravan guard.
Experiance with DnD - limited to reading 2nd edition, owning 3.5, and owning 5e. I had started a 3.5 irl campaign, however half the party moved across country.
Experiance with PbPost -> I found DnD Beyond this past August, and have been having lots of fun playing.

I used to be a Rules as Written kind of fellow, until I read the discussion on 3.5 forum where a another person had pointed out that monks in 3.5 do not get proficiency with unarmed combat unless they choose the feat for it. After that discussion I decided to just relax and play the game, not the rules
Zubin used to be a royal pain in the butt. A younger child of minor nobility, he had enough money to be annoying and not enough responsibilities to teach him otherwise. Arrogant and spiteful, he would heap scorn and misery on any who annoyed him. Gundren Rockseeker was a particular target of his, having committed the unpardonable sin of getting mud on Zubin's cloak while driving a cart through a muddy street.
Then one day, to the astonishment and relief of all who knew him, Zubin packed up and headed to a monastery. It's been years now, but he has finally reemerged, seeking to make amends and be reconciled to those whom he tormented. Gundren Rockseeker is one of them.
My experience with D&D is limited. I played the old D&D PC games back in the day - Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights - and have only recently gotten interested in the game itself, thanks to my kids. This would be my third PBP adventure, and my second active one.

Alright, closing the recruitment. Thanks for all of the fantastic submissions, I wish I could pick everyone! Selections will be made based on those who liked about the same things. So don't worry if you weren't selected, it is just because I'm trying to get similar play styles together.

- Connection to Gundren Rockseeker (a dwarf who wants to hire you to escort a wagon of supplies from Neverwinter to Phandalin): Scraper was apprenticed to a cousin of Gundren, who created musical instruments. As Scraper began to gain a modest amount of renown as a bard (using his mimicry skills to learn how to play his viol as well as the best musicians in the land), Scraper's master provided Scraper with a letter of introduction to Gundren, hopefully that her cousin might be able to use the Kenku's skills.

- Character Race: Deep Gnome
- Character Background: Sage
- Connection to Gundren Rockseeker (a dwarf who wants to hire you to escort a wagon of supplies from Neverwinter to Phandalin): Hortix provided certain shadowy services to Gundren in dealing with less than desirable characters. Can I add as a tip of the hat to some of the other applicants, I am currently in game with a few of them, and all have amazing flavour with their postings. You will be well served if even one of them makes the cut. {You guys know who you are ;) }
Thanks for all of the applications, there are some great ones here! I'll leave the recruitment open for another day or so.

Half Orc Ranger
Soldier Scout

Zubin Mahler, Wood Elf Monk
Background: Noble
Roleplaying: 9
Combat: 8
Resource Management: 4
Exploration: 6
Loot :7
Spelling/Punctuation: 9 (mine) , 4 (others) I like to tell my characters' stories as articulately as I can, but I'm not picky about how others tell theirs. This is a game, not English class.
Alright, closing the recruitment. Thanks for all of the fantastic submissions, I wish I could pick everyone! Selections will be made based on those who liked about the same things. So don't worry if you weren't selected, it is just because I'm trying to get similar play styles together.
I'll PM those who are joining.
Congrats you lot, and have fun.
Attending Academy until November, slowdown in posts continue.
