You all have different reasons for travelling to Red Larch. You met your companions on the Long Road, and, finding that you had the same destination, decided to travel together. As you arrive in the town, you see a three-story stone structure, crowned by a steep slate roof that bristles with many chimneys. A signboard juts out over the door, hanging from chains. It’s a ten-foot-long carved wooden scimitar emblazoned with “The Swinging Sword” in red paint on both sides. Across the road, there is a ramshackle tavern, the words “The Helm at Highsun” painted sloppily on its side. On the west side of the Long Road, just south of the inn’s stable yard, stands what looks like a grand stone mansion. Two wide wooden doors painted with the symbols of many gods stand open. Off the Long Road to the East is a bustling market. You can also see a bakery, a barber’s shop, several wagon shops, three clothing stores that seem to carry very different styles, a couple smiths, two poultry shops and many other smaller buildings.
Isoxi and Shaa:
You know that Endrith Vallivoe, the owner of Vallivoe's Sundries, is a fellow member of the Harpers. He might be able to help you with your quests.
Yuron and Orbis:
You know that Imdarr Relvaunder, a priest of Tempus, is sympathetic to the Order of the Gauntlet. He can be found in the Allfaiths Shrine, the building that looks like a mansion. He might be able to help you with your quests.
Leofir:
You know thatMangobarl Lorren, the town baker, is a Zhentarim contact. He might be able to help you with your quests. Also, you know that the Bargewright Inn, about 80 miles East from Red Larch, is a hotspot of Zhentarim activity.

Perhaps you would secure lodging for me as well and upon my return the first round of drinks shall be on me!"
Orbis intends to visit the Allfaiths Shrine. He will contact Imdarr the priest and make him aware of his arrival. and will ask him if he has counseled any members of the Order of the Gauntlet who have recently experienced strange, prophetic or ominous dreams. He won't take long and will return to the party in less than an hour if possible.
Yuron finds two smithies, Ironhead Arms and the Tantur Smithy. Tantur's seems more established and visited. He also finds Chansyrl Fine Harness, which sells travelling gear of all sorts, and Vallivoe's Sundries, which sells all kinds of bits and bobs.

Yuron arrives at the Tantur Smithy. Both ends of this soot-stained building are massive stone blocks that rise into tall, wide chimneys. As he enters, he sees four strong people working the forges, two men and two women with some family resemblance. The older man comes up to you, wiping his hands on his apron. "Well hello! I don't remember seeing you before! I'm Eldras Tantur, I've been the blacksmith of this fine town for nearly two decades. Will you be needing something forged today? We have the finest swords, bolts and wheel rims!"
Orbis
Orbis arrives at the Allfaiths Shrine with Shaa, pushing the heavy doors open. Two priests and some prayers are inside. One of the priests walks up to you. "Hello, traveler. Welcome to Red Larch. I am Imdarr Relvaunder, priest of Tempus. Do you require my services today, or shall I leave you be?" When he hears Orbis' tale, he becomes more grave. "Perhaps you should follow me." He goes into a back room and sits down, offering a seat to Orbis. "It is always a pleasure to meet a member of the Order of the Gauntlet. On the subject of your strange dreams, I have not encountered any others who have had similar nightmares, however I fear evil is at foot. Perhaps if you could provide more details, I would be able to help you more."
Orbis remembers little from his dreams, except terrible shouting, a head crowned with snakes, earth falling from the sky like a universal cave-in and a name: Marlos Urnrayle.
Shaa:
Shaa arrives at the Allfaiths Shrine with Orbis, who opens the heavy wooden doors. Two priests and some prayers are inside. One of the priests walks up to you. "Hello, traveler. Welcome to Red Larch. I am Imdarr Relvaunder, priest of Tempus. Do you require my services today, or shall I leave you be?" Orbis goes off to talk with this priest. After saying a short prayer, Shaa heads over to Vallivoe's Sundries. Aside from the bewildering profusion of doors, barrels, rotting old furniture, and tools leaning against its outside walls, this building looks like a private home. A small, faded sign on the front door reads “Vallivoe’s Sundries.” Inside, it is crammed to the rafters with new wares and used items of all sorts; furniture, lamps, carpets, mirrors, weapons, shields, helms, and a little bit of everything else. Almost anything might be available to buy here, buried under heaps of other stuff. The shopowner is a shy, scuttling little man. A small army of local children scurry around, working playfully. "Well hello there, traveler! I am Endrith Vallivoe, at your service! Anything you need, I've got it!" If Shaa mentions that he is affiliated with the Harpers, Endrith becomes quite excited. "Ah, the Harpers, yes! A pleasure to meet you, I heard they might be sending someone up..." He looks at Shaa, considerable more impressed now. "You know... I'm sure you have many things to do, but there are rumours that evil is afoot in this town, and people have been seeing strange things lately. I overheard someone say that they saw a skull pinned to a tree with a black arrow, like some kind of dire warning or ill omen. They said it was a half day’s walk along the Larch Path, then about four miles east into the hills." Endrith shudders. "If you need anything from me, don't be afraid to ask, although I'm not really cut out for any derring-do."
Isoxi:
Isoxi wanders around Red Larch, learning as he goes. The Swinging Sword seems to be the most refined tavern of the town. The Helm across the road seems to be mostly devoted to food, drink and laughter. On a side road, you find Mother Yalantha's, a three-story, dilapidated boarding house with many balconies and outside staircases. However, the atmosphere seems cheerful, if generally noisy.
He also finds several other shops of note. Tantur Smithy is the blacksmith of the town. Chansyrl Fine Harness provides travel accessories of all kinds. The pungent smell of tanned and oiled leather fills the crowded workshop, and the walls display leather saddles, reins, yokes, and harnesses for working beasts of all sizes. Stylish leather jackets, longcoats, caps, boots, leggings, bracers, belts, baldrics, and full leather armor are also in stock in all sizes. Another shop sells quality clothing. This square two-story building stands at the intersection of the Long Road and the Cairn Road. Its signboard is painted with the images of a well-dressed lord and lady, one on each side of the board. Ornate scrollwork iron bars protect the windows. Ironhead Arms deals in arms and armor, both new and used. A building hidden down a side road with "Gaelkur's" painted on the side seems to deal in everything and nothing at once, its purpose unguessable. At the far South of the town, Luruth's Tannery, a former warehouse, reeks with an eye-watering, throat-closing stench that obliterates all other smells within a bowshot of the place. Vallivoe's Sundries is stuffed full of odds and ends, you could probably find anything somewhere in there. You see Shaa inside, talking to the owner. The market carries any food you would want. A half-Orc stands over pickling vats, children stealing from them behind his back.

"Why of course! We have the best shields of the region!" The blacksmith examines your shortsword, then draws a plain but sturdy round shield from a pile. "This is worth about the same as your sword. How about you give me your sword, I'll give you this shield, and we'll call it a deal!" He hands you the shield invitingly. "You look like the adventuring sort. Perhaps you could investigate the outlaws lurking on the Cairn Road. Harburk Tuthmarillar, our Constable, hasn't found much, but we know they're out there. If you're willing, you can find Harburk at the Butcher shop, next to Drouth's Fine Poultry."

Leofir says (while we were deciding on a course of action), "Well, I agree we should secure lodging first. I could also use a new bow as well, this Shortbow of mine just doesn't feel graceful to me anymore."
Leofir looks around for a woodworking or arms shop that sells archery equipment, casually stroking his long golden hair and patting away any dust on his black leather armor to appear more presentable and making sure his rapier is firmly attached to his belt. He hums a beautiful Elvish tune lightly to himself as he looks around. He also looks to see if the bakery is nearby.
If applicable, he will accompany Yuron to the smithy.
The Tantur Smithy doesn't have any bows, at least not today. You go to Ironhead Arms instead. They have longbows, shortbows, crossbows, arrows, bolts, quivers... anything you need. The owner is a half-orc, who greets you as you enter, in a gruff but genial voice. "Hello, hello, dear traveler. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Feng Ironhead. What will you be needing today?" Upon hearing you are in need of archery equipment he says: "Well of course! This bow here is quite good, make from a strong wood, although as you can see the handle is slightly chipped..." He continues talking for quite some time about all the different bows he has. As he rummages through a pile of unsorted weapons, he says "If you don't mind me saying, that was a wonderful little tune you were humming! We don't see too many elves up North, a shame... So, what are you doing here?" He suddenly becomes very grim. "Whatever you're doing, don't go anywhere near Lance Rock... There's a terrible plague there, that will make you eat your own skin!" He bursts into laughter. "Or at least that's what the Tarnlar children are saying. Aha! Here's a good bow for you, master elf! Strong and flexible, can stand up to hard use and bad weather!" He'll give it to you for 15 gold and your shortbow. If you require any other minor archery equipment, such as arrows, a quiver or bracers he will give them to you for no extra cost.
Once Leofir has finished talking to Feng, he quickly finds the bakery. It is a small building with a hanging sign consisting of a carved and painted wooden round loaf the size of a small cart. As you enter, you see fresh round loaves and buns for sale, as well as the infamous local specialty. The baker comes to greet you, apron covered in flour. "Hello! I'm Mangobarl Lorren. Always a pleasure to meet new people! Would you like to try our specialty, cheese-topped buns with melted mushroom cheese from local farms? My great grandfather made the first one in dragon's breath!" Upon hearing that you have connections to the Zhentarim, he says "Well, if you need me for anything, I'm always willing to help the Black Network. In fact, I'll help you right now." He puts his elbows on the counter and leans in, ready to tell his tale. "A few days ago, Pell Mhandyvver said she saw a ghost by an old tomb not far from town. Now, obviously there are no ghosts around here, so I went to check it out myself. I saw a goblin near that tomb, I figure a gang of the creatures moved in and rigged a “haunt” to scare off intruders. It might be worth talking to Minthra Mhandyvver, Pell's grandmother. You can find her at Mhandyvver's Poultry. There might be treasure in that tomb, and it would be a shame to leave it to a bunch of goblins!" He stands up. "Oh, and I hear they need some help over at the Bargewright, as well."
Isoxi and Shaa:
As Isoxi enters Vallivoe's Sundries, Shaa and the owner Endrith Vallivoe are discussing Harper business. Endrith tries to quickly change the subject until Shaa confirms that Isoxi is a fellow Harper. "So there's two of you! How excellent! As I was telling Shaa here, there's evil in this town. Besides that arrow through the skull, quarry workers at Mellikho Stoneworks say that mysterious figures wearing stone masks watch them when they work at night. They won't stay in the quarry after dark now. Kaylessa Irkell, the owner of the Swinging Sword Inn, thinks the town’s troubles might have a common source. I'm not sure I believe her, but you might."

Leofir eyes the elegance and beauty of the circular patterns on the various buns then hearing about the specialty of the house; he puts his fingers to his chin with a smirk in brief contemplation then purchases a cheese-mushroom topped bun for every party member so they may all partake when he meets back up with them. "Well, they certainly sound delicious. I'll take five. My name is Leofir, a pleasure to make your acquaintance Mangobarl."
After hearing the rest about possible goblins and gold in a tomb, he says, "So the black wind howls towards to a tomb?" (His code for a Black Network task at a location/direction) "Speak to Minthra at Mhandyvver's Poultry? Sounds delightful," he says with a wink. "If your information turns out to be accurate, then I'll be sure to put in a good word for you with the Zhentarim...and perhaps a small portion of the spoils," he says with a wry smile. "I'll be sure to inquire at the Bargewright too. Thank you for your help, you're very kind." Leofir runs his fingers through his hair, "Now...how much do I owe you for the five of your specialty mushroom cheese buns my good man?"
