Our adventure begins in the small town of Thithladroth. To the south lies Thithladroth Lake, from which Thithladroth derives it's name, and to the east and west the town is bordered by the Grey Forest, a dim expanse of oak and maple habited by monsters and fey. Thithladroth maintains a steady trade of fish and lumber with the neighboring town of Hadun, located in the Emerald Forest to the northwest, and Conwe Keep, a castle to the northeast. The town is governed by an order of knights known as the Senate of Crowns, who maintain order with an iron fist. Thithadroth's population of 1,800 is comprised mainly of fisherfolk, lumberjacks, and the odd merchant or trader. Aelois' Armaments, run by a weaponsmith named Aelois, and the Empyrean Pavilion, a theatre known for it's draconic dramas, are two locations of interest to visitors and sources of great pride to the locals.
Approaching the town gates, flung open wide to accomodate the chill spring air, you are greeted by a lounging guard who waves you through with a grin. The town is yours to explore!
((Congrats to all that got chosen, looking forward to a fun time. Just a quick question, do we all know each other already and are entering as a group or as individuals?))
Turning to Elber and Jack, Landrae says "Save me a seat at the table boys, as much as I want to wet my throat, I am of a mind to whet the appetite of my heart first."
Turning to the guard, and returning his relaxed grin with a sly smile of her own, "Hey honey, you look like a man who's good with his hands." Winking impishly, she adds, "Would you point me in the direction of the Empyrean Pavillion?"
"A pint or three is always a great way to get to know a new town." Duncan says with a smile. and to the guard "What's good here friend? Anything special in this place?"
"We've been on the road a while. A hot meal and some mead would do me well. We can ask the innkeeper about the theater to see what they have to say about it"
The guard scratches his head. "I recommend The Bloody Thorn, the ale's as good there as it is anywhere. You'll find it in Wall Side, to the west of the town." He is interrupted by a stunningly beautiful woman who strides towards you, long golden locks cascading over her shoulders. She is dressed in the garb of a soldier and a rapier swings from her belt. "Welcome, travelers. I hope you will find what you desire in Thithladroth." She says, her voice like liquid gold.
I start heading to the Bloody Thorn while trying to overhear what she is discussing. Also now that I am in the city I make sure my poin curse is safe and keep my eye out for signs of pickpockets.
”Watch your pockets boys, there’s more than one thing that can empty them from you in towns”
Landrae looks the newcomer over, a look of appreciation in her eyes marred little by a small spark of jealousy at the woman's casual beauty, and her lips curl into a smile.
"Aye, Duncan, I guess I can be persuaded to sup a tankard or two and spend a coin with thee before I go to the Pavillion"
Walking over and placing a hand lightly on Elber's arm, "Elber, must you always be to business before addressing the simple courtesies?" Catching the eye of the woman, Landrae addresses her directly. "Fair lady, my name is Landrae, and as you may have ascertained my charming associate here is Elber. As our appearance may suggest we are fresh off the road and keen to discover the offerings of Thithladroth, and have questions that by their very nature, yearn for answers to go with them."
Pausing just enough to take a small breath, Landrae asks "The most pressing of which is whom we are so fortunate to be speaking to? Mayhap you could walk with us a way, for we have been recommended to the beverages of the Bloody Thorn but know not they way; and perhaps, then should you not be tired of our conversation, we could repay your answers with a drink or two?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Though clearly caught by her beauty, I would also like to look the woman over to check for anything I might recognize from my Soldier background, as well as see how much she appears trustworthy INSIGHT: 8.
To Landrae: "Hah! There is little better way to learn about a new place than to sample their mead my friend. I'll treat our first round!" with a friendly slap to his back.
Hearing Jack's words I will also head his advice and tuck my coin purse under my chains.
Edit: OOC @dm. This is my first pbp campaign. Normally i would never roll before the dm asked for it. Just trying to save posts. If it's not needed just ignore it, and if you'd rather I not do it that way let me know ^^
<Duncandidn't really notice anything wrong with Elber's question, thinking it often better to just get to the point. Plus, getting anyone to talk, about nearly anything, is a great way to start to learn their actual intentions.>
(@kevtr0n, to save posts it is always a good idea to make a check first and ask questions later.)
The woman smiles without humor. "Think you Alais does not have more pressing matters to attend to?" She asks. "Alais is captain of the watch and does not care to drink with every commoner who enters her town. "
Duncan tries to read Alais' intentions, but he has little success. Her face is expressionless, and her smile is without warmth.
"Then your personal greetings are well received and appreciated, captain. If you had no other business with us, then we shall not keep you from your business, nor cause you or the law any trouble."
Elber grabs hold of his stuff to head into town, but remains waiting for the watch captains approval to do so.
"Forgive my presumption on your time, Captain Alais" Landrae inclines her head in apology, "Though surely you can appreciate that newcomers to your town could not be better served than by a few words of advice from such a knowledgeable personage as the captain of the watch?"
Landrae takes a step back to encompass Duncan and Elber into a sweep of her arms "Though as Elber implied, we are currently adventurers by happenstance, and whilst I grant you that we are common in appearance, we have a knack for results when the compensation is fair."

Jack will ask the guard at the gate “Where would you recommend a good place for food and ale?”
Elber nods approvingly as he unstrings his bow.
"Right you are, Jack. Feels like I can't remember any taste but water and dry rations. Ale will do me good."

"What's this pavillion? Any good, or just some posh place?" Elber half-whispers to whoever is close.

Elber eyes her uniform and weapon, trying to determine if she's a ranking officer or just some friendly soldier.
"Mighty thanks for the welcome, lady. Be you the one to talk to if our desires are of the mercenary sort? Weapons for coin, and all that."
