I plan to run an adventure where a group of 4-6 magical girls are thrown together to save a kingdom in another world. You should be familiar with anime & manga tropes / conventions as I aim to make it a isekai/magical girl parody... or at least comedic. I see this as a one-shot (maybe about 3 months?) but if everyone likes the story, there may be potential to continue. I'll only be able to post on weekdays GMT+8 (usually in the afternoon local time but at least once a day). Players should try to post once per day after everyone has had a turn to post, so don't expect an exhausting churn of posts. I aim to start in late April/early May (giving me about a week or so to prepare after the recruitment deadline).
This is how the story begins:
You are on a school field trip to Tokyo Tower. It is a clear spring day and you're in luck today -- you can see Mt. Fuji from here! Students from other schools crowd the observation deck, you can see all manner of school uniforms. As you enjoy the view outside while chatting with your friends, you hear an explosive sound and sudden cry from the crowd. The windows have shattered and a preternatural wind is destroying the space. You can see people scattering in the chaos and running for the exit in fear. But before you can react, a sudden blinding light pierces your eyes and you feel your whole body lift off the ground. Your body feels light as a feather for a moment but then it feels as though it is forcibly ripped apart. You blackout from the pain.
The next thing you know, you awaken. You are lying on a grass field with several other girls around you...
Character creation:
Roll your ability scores, rerolling 1's once. No standard array or point buy.
Level 3; milestone achievement.
Female and human characters only (human variant OK); characters should be high schoolers.
Official classes only (no homebrews); all characters are ordinary people in their world; characters develop fantastical abilities (like magic) in the new world.
For your weapon, choose one of the following: a pen knife (dagger) or slingshot (sling with 20 eraser or marble 'bullets').
For spellcasting class, your spellcasting focus is something a typical school girl might have and treasure (eg. your handphone, cute hair accessory, etc).
All characters start with a backpack, water bottle (waterskin), snacks (2x rations), stationery (100x paper, 3x pen). You can also choose one item of your choice from the adventuring gear list. Your purse contains 2000 yen in a mixture of bank notes and coins.
To apply, include the following in your post (deadline: 24 April 2019):
Name & age
Class & background
Rolled ability scores
(In spoilers) Succinct backstory including what school you attended, family life, and your most pressing concern prior to being transported to another world
Answer to: Are there any particular aspect of the magical girl trope you like and would like to explore?

Some expectations:
Post format:
Indicate your character name. This makes it clear who is speaking/acting.
Format spoken sentences in bold and colour. Choose a colour different from other characters.
Use the present tense.
All out of character text to be contained within double parenthesis, ie. ((Sample text)).
I will post in your place if you do not respond for the day. If this happens too often and/or you are demonstrably unreliable, I may ask you to leave (I will give fair warning).
To speed up play, I'll roll your initiative, perception, saves, etc where needed. You can write your reaction afterwards.
If you would like to back out of the game or need time off, please let me know in advance so we can close off or put your story on hiatus. I would appreciate the candor.
Likewise, if I need time off, I'll let everyone know the period/time in advance.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, I will only post again once recruitment closes. Successful applicants will receive a PM from me. Thank you and look forward to hearing from you!!!
Lili is a transfer student at the Joshi Seigakuin Junior & Senior school for girls. She left her home in Scotland for an opportunity to study in another country through the student exchange program and she found herself going to Japan to live with a very nice elderly couple. Lili is outwardly concerned with finishing High School as best as she possibly can and going back home to Scotland. She is secretly concerned about trying to find a special someone that she can tell her parents about so they don't think she spent all her time abroad studying.
Answer to: Are there any particular aspect of the magical girl trope you like and would like to explore?: Not really, I honestly don't know much about magical girl tropes. Link to Character Sheet: https://ddb.ac/characters/11076582/ZloZOZ

Be excellent to each other, and roll for initiative dudes!
Reina is a student at Yamamoto Public High School. She grew up in Japan and is from a decently well off family. She has some difficulties with her mother and father, but has a fairly normal home life. After school she does homework and helps her father in his mechanic's shop, Sato's Repair. Prior to being transported, her primary concerns were her grades (which to be honest aren't great), and her father's shop. She is also concerned with finding a life outside the shop (something her parents have been pushing her to do), but her father needs the help.
I think that the whole "transformation sequence" aspect could be fun to mess around with.

Is variant human okay? Or do you just want standard human?
This sounds like it will be a fun and interesting game. I'll throw my hat in the lot and I can change the character if the idea isn't suitable.
