As the title says, I'm trying to find a group that plays via text channels who don't mind a new guy who's never played DnD before. I've recently gotten into the whole dungeons and dragons thing through listening and obsessing over DnD podcasts and YouTube videos and would love to get into it myself. I used to write tons of fantasy stories so I'm excited to use those writing skills to play a text based game with awesome people!
I'm seeking a text based group because I don't have a ton of time to go to live in person games and would love something casual that I can hop in and out of. I'm a lawyer (living in eastern time zone) and my wife and I just adopted a puppy a couple weeks ago and so that's eating up a lot of our free time. Whenever we get home from work and are done playing with him and tiring him out, we're both too exhausted to do much else, so I've not been playing video games as much as I used to like.
I'd love to get introduced to actually playing DnD with people who don't mind me dropping in off and on throughout the day and evening. I don't know how well something like that would work, or if it's even possible to do DnD without regularly scheduled sessions, but if so, I'd love a DnD mentor group to help me get into this. Who knows, maybe it'll turn into something I really love and end up making more time to actually seek out a real life group near me.
