I'll take a note from my own first DM's book, and use the ruling that when you level up, you can roll for hp, then decide whether you use the roll, or the average given afterwards
At the beginning of a fight, initiative is rolled (I do this) I then compile a turn order, whoever is in bold, it's YOUR turn.
Attacks are done as such:
Attack roll: (this roll is a d20, plus whatever modifier you have that affects hitting)
Damage roll: (this is specific to the type of attack you are doing, and damage should be listed in your "actions" tab on the character sheet)
Please do both of these rolls at once to save time.
Pie combat has everyone use a special Pie weapon. The hit modifier will be your dex bonus, and the damage is 1d4 non-lethal.
Jared, since you are proficient in tavern fighting, you get a special option: on a given Pie attack, you can either add 2 to the attack roll, or 1 to the damage roll.
Pies are a ranged line-of sight attack. But their range exceeds the confines of the tavern.
You generally can perform any action listed on your actions tab, as well as anything specific. you also have access to bonus actions, depending on class abilities or magic. Note: actions and bonus actions can be used in any order you wish, and movement can be used between them, in any increments you wish.

Hello everyone, I'd just like to welcome two new players, Bescinan and Fromnibelheim! feel free to go through the logs, or ask questions here, I'd be happy to help in any way!
I manage to chuckle out, before wincing and reaching for his head, still throbbing from last night.
Er, did that Gundren guy buy us a round after the deal? My head is throbbing and I can't seem to remember much about last night. Eh, either way, I think I'll stay in the cart for now, my head is hurting too much to drive or march.
(Do we need any skills or checks to drive? Animal handling I presume?)
This is where you are free to chat, ask questions, and strategize outside of the main game.
Noice, Can't wait to start!

Mind giving me a Charisma roll for that?
Well THAT went about as well as I expected.

All squares are 5ft., you can move diagonally, and hopping over half cover will use up 5ft. of movement.
A note going forwards: As you've seen, Npcs and PCs who get nat 1s can expect bad things to happen. Won't always be damage though.
The inverse is also true: critical successes will yield rule of cool results.
That being said, I'll be home shortly to inspect rolls made by Faeth

Hello I exist.
Tungol
That's good, that at least disproves someone has an ontological weapon aimed at us!
Here are my stats!

christ, 6 ones!? If no-one else has a problem with it, Do you want him to reroll?
I see no problem about letting him reroll, it's to our advantage if he doesn't have 3 stats under 10, and all under 15

Tungol is a tengu!
That means they mainly speak mimicking words or sounds they have heard already.
Tungol uses a few voices more than others, that of some good old buds that are no longer around, but still suffers from a more limited vocabulary.
Just a heads up if Tungol seems curt or a little harder to understand!
Tungol
TONGUE-ol, heh...
