This first post is to cover some basics logistics before I start the story.

I will be posting the beginning of the story in about 7 or 8 hours. Do what you can to finalize things like your character's alignment and any single key experiences for you character.
It’s been a quiet trudge in the mud of a spring rain. You all were hired on to escort this two wagon merchant caravan for your own reasons, and you were each hired for your unique skills, but certainly a hodge-podge group. The halfling runs point as the lookout for trouble as the caravan ambles along, the dwarf druid at the reins about 50 ft back. Drops from the sky have slowed, but some still drip wet on the armor of the two fighter each flanking one side of the pair of wagons, the human on the left mirrored by the firbolg on the right.
The road’s been quiet of danger since you left in the early morning, but with the sloshing of boots and clopping of hooves, the only hired help even moderately comfortable are the half-orc sitting shotgun to the merchant in the second wagon, acting as a personal body guard and sometime source of entertainment and the dwarven cleric acting as the rearguard lookout.
It wasn’t a terrible journey for 20 gold each, just two or three days by wagon to the Writ Spires’s merchant gate. The green canopy and a few leftover lumpy clouds blocking the afternoon sun. There had been rumors of an orc tribe closer to the foot of the mountains a few miles east...which is why the merchant took the overgrown western road to the Spires...why you were hired in the first place really, simple protection, eyes and muscles, cheap and expendable.
As the road turns gently to the right, your party rolls or trudges through the forest, large rocks and logs scattered along the side of this stable-door-wide farm road. Your merchant leans against his piled cargo listening to the stories of the half-orc.
Silv’ar, as you begin to round the bend, you hear loud, gravely voices bickering, followed by a disturbing tearing sounds accompanied by gnashing and slurping.
[Anyone is welcome to say or do anything in character at this point based on their response to the scene. Keep in mind that only Silv'ar knows the bit at the end at this point though.]
Mobya, as you attempt to listen for the bard and the merchant on the wagon following you behind you, make an animal handling check (roll a d20+your animal handling skill bonus) to make sure you can keep the horse you're driving on the front wagon in line.
Being behind the wagon, I am unable to notice the commotion at the time being and am just enjoying the feeling of being needed and helping a mortal soul; no matter how simple or mindless the task.
Unaware of any commotion or noise ahead, Morn marches on. He is already spending his 20 gold in his mind, it is much needed and is the first real job he has had since leaving home.
Logistics of Gameplay (sorry to interrupt the story...after these messages we'll be right back ;)
Be sure to equip your armor etc under equipment if you are using it, so your character sheet updates AC and movement please.
Also, just to set/manage expectations, I think I mentioned in one of the other threads that I will be checking in at least every 24 hours worst case probably more like every 4-5 hours. For accountability, if I don't see a post from you in 24 hours and if you haven't sent me a quick message, I may act for your character briefly to keep the game moving for everyone else, but I would hope this not necessary. I would rather do this though than the game stall out on a single character.
I will try to have a nice blend of combat and RP opportunities.
Finally if you ever have a game mechanics question or an issue with any of the technology of the character sheets, please let me know. I am more than happy to explain something or link out to the dndbeyond site.
Too caught up with the Merchant, Lil reminisces of a story where a particularly bad rain storm once scared his family's cows into a cave and it took Lil and his father 5 days to track them down, thus taking his senses away from anything that might be on the road ahead.
I holt the caravan in its tracks and signals to the other travelers to come closer quietly. I ask to scout further ahead of the track to see what the commotion is.
When the second wagon comes to a halt, pulling me back to reality, I will take Silv'ar's warning with caution and slowly climb down from the wagon, checking my belt once on the ground to ensure my rapier and daggers are still fastened. Once on the ground I will look towards the Merchant, hold up one finger to my mouth in a signal to be quiet, and gesture for him to make his way off the wagon towards me on the ground.
Making his way to Lil, Agozur will draw his long bow and notch an arrow stepping in front of him "Even being a strong warrior you may want to stay behind me friend, destiny won't let me get hurt."

Mobya tries to walk a little faster to get closer to the caravan, wanting to hear what the half-orc is saying to the merchant.

Mobya, as you attempt to keep your horse aligned, you overhear bits of Lil's story, something about rain and rampaging cows for days.

(Silv'ar)
I holt the caravan in its tracks and signals to the other travelers to come closer quietly. I ask to scout further ahead of the track to see what the commotion is.
(Alesandaire)
Noticing the halflings warning, I attempt to scan the area surrounding the rear of the caravan for potential signs of an ambush.
(Lil)
When the second wagon comes to a halt, pulling me back to reality, I will take Silv'ar's warning with caution and slowly climb down from the wagon, checking my belt once on the ground to ensure my rapier and daggers are still fastened. Once on the ground I will look towards the Merchant, hold up one finger to my mouth in a signal to be quiet, and gesture for him to make his way off the wagon towards me on the ground.
(Agozur)
Making his way to Lil, Agozur will draw his long bow and notch an arrow stepping in front of him "Even being a strong warrior you may want to stay behind me friend, destiny won't let me get hurt."
Alesandaire make a perception or investigation check, and Silv'ar make a stealth check and a perception or investigation check.
Agozur (if you notching your arrow is readying an action) what would cause you to fire?

Mobya notices that the horses are still aligned, if not a bit spooked by the tension in the air
