Hello Humans, you may know me from my Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Campaign, no Edgy Orphan Rogues, no Evil or Chaotic Neutrals, We're using Milestone, Point Buy and regular starting equipment, no Gold encumberment or Race Restriction though no homebrew post with this application, I'll be sending PMs to everyone who gets in, around 4 players, also the PbP won't be on this thread
NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME, I always try to make it so there is at least one newbie, as a lot of other posts just don't welcome people who have never played DnD because their character sheets aren't up to their standards
Also just so everyone knows this module is not made to do any character development, though you may still be able to do it and I will try to prompt it, this module is mainly centered around ADVENTURE!11!!!!1111!
Name: Race and Class: Background + Shortened Backstory: Alignment:
Driven from lands farther north by more powerful dragons, a young white dragon named Cryovain has descended upon the Sword Mountains, claiming the snow-capped range as its domain. Typical of its kind, Cryovain is dim-witted and cruel. The dragon patrols the skies around Icespire Peak, surveying its territory while hunting for food and easy treasure. With each passing day, the dragon’s domain grows as it ranges farther across the land, preying on anything it can catch with its claws or freeze to death with its icy breath. Sightings of the dragon are becoming more common, as are its attacks.
A crumbling fortress on the northeast spur of Icespire Peak serves as the dragon’s lair. Cryovain seized the icy fortress from a tribe of savage orcs, killing the orc war chief and forcing the tribe’s survivors to flee into the foothills and forests. Enraged by the death of their war chief, the orcs have called upon ancient allies — evil, shapechanging, half-orc spellcasters who bless and advise them. These half-orcs worship Talos, an evil god of storms, and many dwell in the dark depths of Neverwinter Wood. In stormy weather, they gather on remote hilltops to summon Gorthok the Thunder Boar, a primal entity that serves Talos. Like the god it serves, Gorthok delights in destruction.
The orcs aren’t the only creatures thrown into upheaval by Cryovain’s sudden arrival. A manticore driven from its mountaintop nest by the roaming white dragon has migrated to the foothills and begun terrorizing folk living on the outskirts of the mining town of Phandalin. Other monsters in the region have been similarly displaced.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) Just wait for him to come to you too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Wilkas is a middle-aged man with black graying hair of medium length that he keeps tied up. He has a gentle, fatherly face, but he has fathered no children. His younger years he spent in libraries, lecture halls and excavation sites, passionate about fallen civilizations and their artifacts.
When the studying of such an artifact triggered a disturbing recurring nightmare, he started towards Phandalin, from where the artifact originated. On the way there, the nightmare became clearer, until it stopped being a nightmare and became a message. And with the message came a power Wilkas did not quite understand. Maybe the Sword Mountains will have the answers the countless books he read did not.
Name:Knok Gnome-friend Race and Class: Goblin Fighter Background + Shortened Backstory: Wanderer. Knok, like all of his diminutive and brutish race, hated all the Tall Ones. And a lot of the Not Us Little Ones, too. Then he was saved from a bear trap by the Not Us Little One, Oppenholdt, a dumb dumb gnome who turned out to not be all that dumb dumb after all. Oppenholdt was nice, friendly, treated Knok's injuries, and most importantly gave Knok food that wasn't completely rotten or too smelly. Oppenholdt invited Knok to follow him back to his hut where he could recover. Not Us Little One Oppenholdt became a friend, and Knok became Gnome-friend. Knok decided maybe Not Us People weren't so bad, and they had really good food. Knok now lives in Phandalin, were he tries not to get stepped on by filthy horses, not get eaten by mean dogs, and make other Tall Ones and Not Us Little Ones like him. It works most of the time, and when it doesn't Knok still has his grungy scimitar and shield. Alignment: Neutral

Name: Ailre Phiralei Race and Class: Wood Elf Rogue Background: Criminal/Spy Background: A crack shot with a bow, Ailre could have been part of an elven military, a ranger or even a trainer. But his bad habit of pocketing things to see if he could get away with it led him to be banned from his home village, not to return until he has proven himself to be more than a petty thief. Woah, no need for caps, I guess that's good? It's already pretty hard to meta-game tho in DOIP, also a short way of saying that would be that you don't Metagame
Name: Unrill Race: Drow Class: Monk, (Either open hand or elemental) Backstory: (Custom or Acolyte) Unrill, was stricken blind by his brother and abandoned on the surface in the high mountains near the glacier of the white worm. He was rescued from frostbite and death by the monks of the yellow rose. His upbringing not understanding hospitality, he was constantly on edge and would snap at those trying to tend to him, but he soon found that even the most humble skiing the monks was a formidable fighter. He began training and listening to the teachings of Illmater, the one who suffers, and slowly found the strength, to stand, then to walk, then to fight. Once he had his feet firmly underneath him, and his strength fully returned, his masters sent him to seek his own path in the world. (I can go into more, but after this point I'd rather adapt to the narrative.)
Alignment: Nuetral
Timezone/Availability: Pacific timezones, will check during lunch and try to post at least once a day in weekdays.
New player here who would love to get into a game. I've had a few other DM's help me with the character sheet as I applied so it shouldn't have many inconsistencies.
Background + Shortened Backstory: (Soldier) Gronk was always large, and good in a fight. That's how he ended up on the wall. Relatively simple minded, he made a good soldier, landing heavy blows with his greataxe. After his last unit was destroyed defending a raid Gronk began placing himself in harms way, eventually leading to his Captain discharging him from service. He now wanders, returning slowly to his people.

Gronk in Bastion, Kingdom of Medrin Elixisysin Talaveroth (Team 2) Uthal in Lost Continent of Theviranne
Backstory: Brennan, has been within the church of Torm for years now. He thought it was going to be about adventuring with gallant hero's saving the world, at least a town in trouble.... to be honest defending a villager from a particularly stale piece of fruitcake would have been more exciting than his last year at the temple.
He always enjoyed the practical side of worshipping Torm, the martial practice was great fun; the chores however well he'd had enough. When news of a dragon near Phandalin came to his ears, he thought of the cliche chapbooks you find about some handsome devil on horseback fighting a dragon with a lance. Well he thought, I don't really meet the criteria but If I have to mop another floor or see to father Brice's feet well I'll go potty and with that he left a note with one of his fellow acolytes that he would be indisposed fighting the good fight as loyal Torm commands.
Background:Mercenary soldier; Left his family at young age to follow a charismatic dwarvin mercenary named Sammich Hardhammer. Sammich taught him everything about fighting, adventuring and beer. Sammich founded the band of the yellow hand mercenary company and made a fortune fighting other peoples wars and slaying monstrous enemies of the people. He was lost at sea with 1/2 the band on the way to the last major battle Donkee would participate in. Donkee faught hard along with the others of the band against a host of demon worshipping Orcs. during the battle the Orcs unleashed a terrible beast that laid waste to the band and their allies. Donkee barely escaped with his life, saved by a pack burro fleeing the field. Donkee made his way to the sword coast to the village of Phandalin to recover and find new adventure with his Donkey he named "Hole"
Shortened Backstory: This one came online in the home of a wealthy Veldelken family to which the family did not give a designation towards. This one served the family for many years in many capacities to serve them in everyday life. As time went on the family for which this one served had lost their wealthy status and were shunned and in order to carry on they sold this one to another party. This one was programmed to serve all, though the initial code still remains for this one to follow any order given by the original owners. The individual that this one was sold to utilized all services provided by this one effectively opening a tavern that was considered successful by many local denizens. The tavern of which this one served unfortunately burned down due to what the tavern owner said was his, "No good brother being jealous!". The tavern owner felt there was no need to have this ones services any longer and rather than sell this one he requested that this one leave in order to collect double on the collections for insurance regarding the destruction of two of his properties. Since that time this one has traveled offering services to any beings that are in need.
I gotta say, I've got a weakspot for Warforged, I'm guessing that's a custom background, what characteristics and feature did you choose?
Sent you a PM with the character sheet. I saw someone in one of the other campaigns that I am in play as a warforged and I thought it would be interesting to try one that (at least I think) was different than what is usually picked.

Good to see another DM! Should be fine having you play as there isn't really any spoilers in this other than where locales are
I *adore* the old Pathfinder "We Be Goblins!" modules, so I just tried to riff on that. Glad you enjoyed it.
