Race: Aaracrokra (Vulture rather than typical eagle)
Background: Criminal
Backstory: Shank was taught the art of thievery from a young age by his mentor. Growing up on the streets of Baldur’s Gate, with no one but an aging con-man, Shank took comfort in his collection of treasures which he had stolen over the years. Each trinket told a story all its own, and this fascinated the young aaracrokra. When his mentor finally passed away in his sleep one night, Shank quietly packed up his belongings and left Baldur’s Gate behind him, intent on gathering more treasures, and listening to the stories they would tell to him.
About me: I’ve been playing 5e for three years and have experience as both player and DM. I prefer roleplaying over combat, and love exploring fantasy worlds.
(Stats can be changed from point buy to a different method. Equipment is starting equipment choices. Again, can be changed.)
Name: Magnhild "Mags" Torhammer
Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight)
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Background: Soldier
Backstory: Born of the Torhammer clan, who long ago learned to harness the power of the storm in battle, Mags learned from a young age how to fight, as well as her way around the family's forge. She had a relatively uneventful childhood and entered the military to add some excitement to her life. Having done her duty as a soldier, she's still looking forward to excitement, though not necessarily in such an official capacity.
As for me...I've been doing various forms of roleplay for almost 2 decades now, and started playing 5e about a year ago. Currently DMing a homebrew campaign and playing in a Forgotten Realms campaign (both through Discord) and just looking for something else to fill my time. I'd absolutely love to play Dragon Heist, but I'm game for whichever of the two you decide on as the DM. I personally despise punishing players for nat 1s with things like mutilations, etc. Silly things for nat 1s and nat20s are fine, but that's overkill. I tend to be helpful to my DMs as much as I can be, and I'm willing to help players with less experience to understand the game mechanics.
Backstory: Raised as the unwanted ward of her elven aunt, Ceildil spent much of her early years talking to the moon, wishing it would talk back to her. Because it was the only thing that seemed to listen to her, an outsider even though everyone around her was her family. Until one day, the moon spoke back. To be specific, it sent her a dream. Calling her to it, Selûne, that was her name. Ceildil didn't waste much time, leaving under the cover of night. She found her way to a temple, and for the first time since she could remember, Ceildil felt like she was home. These acolytes, they didn't even know her name, but they welcomed her with open arms. She didn't want anyone else to feel that way ever again.
(I'll expand it when I get the chance but that's what I have currently.)
About Me: I've been playing dnd for about 4 years now, and I love the roleplay aspects of the game the most. I could spend all my time doing it if I was given the chance. I also like to support my dm's decisions, because that keeps the game moving and keeps everything going smoothly.
Backstory: Liet was captured by drow and taken as a slave to the Underdark. He managed to escape, but wasn't able to find his way out of the Underdark for well over a year. There he managed to stay hidden, and found small ways to disrupt the Drow facilities.
About you: I DM a campaign here, and am a mix of min/max and RP. I like a character to be effective, but will also make decisions that are less optimal if it's more fun for the rp ^^
How will you be doing character statistics? Rolling or point buy/SA?
Backstory: Duraxel awakened in the laboratory of Rastaris Palloreon V of Silverymoon. Rastaris was able to assemble him from different pieces that were discovered in the battlefields during the final battles of the War of the Silver Marches. Rastaris was able to track down each individual piece and put him together though it would take many attempts to awaken him. When he awakened, he had no memory of his past or what happened to him.
Rastaris schooled Duraxel as if he was a child but he quickly progressed, learning much about Faerun and its cultures. Rastaris, who was a wizard, also saw that he had an affinity to the arcane arts. Even more, Duraxel also seemed to have proficiency in all things mechanical, being able to sort things out quicker than many seasoned blacksmiths and tinkerers.
But Duraxel also yearned to explore the world outside Silverymoon and discover where he came from. With the permission of Rastaris, he was allowed to leave to seek his own fortune with the promise to return after every three years (in order to see how he has been doing).
About you: I've been playing DnD 5E on and off for the past few years. Unfortunately my friends moved too far to continue our regular gaming sessions. We've recently tried starting again via DnD Beyond PBP. I find it gets my DnD fix fulfilled so I'd like to try playing in other campaigns. I play for fun whether its good role playing or tactical battles.
After a typical gnomish upbringing in a typical gnomish village in the woods, Seebo ran away and joined a traveling carnival. He had always been mischievous and he was eager to use his wit and cunning to make a semi-legal living. He became a talented fortune teller in the carnival, swindling common folks out of their money. He would “read” tea leaves and make vague statements about their lives allowing them to fill in the details without realizing they had done so. He was so convincing that no one ever caught onto the scam until, that is, the day he tried it on an actual wizard. All it took was a single word and a simple hand gesture from the man for the Detect Magic spell to reveal the truth.
To Seebo’s surprise, the wizard didn’t get angry, but instead proposed that Seebo become his apprentice and learn some real divination magic. Unbeknownst to Seebo, the man had already foreseen his own death and he wanted to pass on some of his knowledge before that inevitable day.
The wizard was trampled by a runaway carriage when he went out to buy some apples exactly 1 year to the day after meeting Seebo. In that time they had trained everyday and Seebo had learned a few basic spells. Now he is eager to apply what he learned and continue to grow his powers.

Backstory: Selen was always one of the brighter student. He lacked magical abilities to transcend his natural limitation but he tried to become the best swordsman he could to compensate, relying on the magical items his noble family would eventually bestow upon him. But one night his family was attacked by a rival noble House. He was one of the first one to fall a wizard sent him into another plane of existence, the Shadow realm. He saw his brothers, sister and the rest of his extended family executed through the lens offered to him by the veil of Shadow. When the spell ended he wan't the same. He brought back part of his shadow self to his plane of existence. He fled, staying one step in front of the hunters until he reached the surface. Safe but alone and lost.
About me: I have been playing since AD&D for Ages and now playing 5e. I have both of these modules and was planning on running them but never got around to it. Started a bit of Dragon Heist but the game fell through. I can post more than 1 or 2 /day. I live in France so its a bit of "normal" USA hours.

You can do either, I'm not too picky about that. Rolling would probably be best though. Re-roll ones.

Backstory: Quozephyr, or Zeph, used to be a paladin in the service of Torm, the god of loyalty and duty. One day, she was sent with many others to quell a rebellion that had the potential to bring a city to ruin. She, along with her allies, fought every rebel until she found out something horrible. As her allies continued their slaughter, she learned that the cause of rebellion was the starvation of the poor. Unable to cope with what she had done, she fell to her knees and let out a horrible scream. A wave of darkness washed over and consumed all of her companions. Her beautiful white wings shot out of her back, catching fire, as she sat there for hours. When she finally moved, she realized the feathers of her wings had burned away and left nothing but bone. She stood up and threw her amulet on the ground before stabbing it with her sword. She never returned, allowing her order to believe that everyone had died.

Name: Einelti Class: Blood Hunter (Order of the Profane Soul) Race: Half-Elf Background: Haunted One Backstory: Einelti's relation with his father is an interesting one. He remembers when he was prepubescent, how loving his father was. How he would in his busiest times, halting his business to try to brighten Einelti's day with magic tricks or token arcane devices. What he also remembers is the day when his father gone mad, desperately experimenting. First, it was on the pets they had, then the servants, and when they all died, Einelti. For days and months there was only despair. It wasn't until the day when a entity spoke to him that he got a chance to break free, he wasn't sure if the entity was good or evil. But what could be worse than hell? Another hell?
When he broke free, he found out that demons were chasing him, apparently working with his father. They gave chase for weeks and he ran. As he did, he gradually realized whatever it is that his father was experimenting on him, it was working. Soon after the realization, the hunter became the hunted.

I would like to start tomorrow, if everyone can. It's a crazy world right now I know. If this doesn't work for those picked, let me know, I'm sure we can work something out. :)

Backstory: At an early age, I can remember being carried into a monastery by a kind monk who cared for me when my parents died. I haven't been told yet what happened to them, just, when I'm old enough I'll learn they tell me. I spent my days in the library going over ancient texts, and practicing drills so I can better protect myself and the monastery. I've even picked up what they call as spells, must've been in a couple of the tomes I went through. I owe everything to the monk that saved me and to the monastery, I've been shown and see that there are forces at work, and they are always guiding us, in what we do.
