Race: Variant Human
Class / Subclass: Cavalier Fighter
Background and Story: The third son of a lesser noble, Seigfryk Sonder is about as low ranking as a noble can be. He has an overbearing sense of propriety brought on by insecurity of his family's position, and his own position within that family. Though he is entitled to no inheritance, Seigfryk is not bitter, for he has no intention of taking a wife or siring children. This is frowned upon by his dynastically minded parents, Wandien and Freidrick Sonder. Even after earning his knighthood, and playing minor roles in the small conflicts of higher nobles, his family generally regards him coldly (to the degree that they consider him at all). As his 37th year has come to close, he fears, for the first time, his own mortality; Seigfryk sets out on his grand quest; one last attempt to earn admiration on the battle field. He does not yet know where his quest will take him, only that his path will be bathed in glory!
Adventure Hook:Meet Me in Phandalin- In the city of Neverwinter your dwarf patron and friend, Gundren Rockseeker, hires you to escort a wagon to Phandalin.
Magic Item Wishlist: Uncommon items you would like to find- Adamantine/Mithral Armor, Goggles of Night, +1 Longsword
Rare items you would die for- Pariah's Shield, Horseshoes of Speed
The Character's Future: Seigfryk wishes to accomplish some great deed, like slaying a great beast (dragon, tarrasque, lich, etc.), so the bards of all Faerun will know his name!
Tidbit about Yourself: I've been playing 5e for a couple years now, starting with a homebrew campaign my brother DM'd. I enjoy things I can do outdoors and for free like disk golf and hiking. Currently playing through Monster Hunter World for the third time (maybe I'll actually finish everything this time, lol).
Name: Morgan Amcathra Abilities: Point Buy Race: Custom Lineage Class / Subclass: Barbarian/ Path of the Ancestral Spirits. Background and Story:
Morgan's family has permanent rooms in the family villa in waterdeep. His father is the heir, with Morgan in line after him. Morgan has his father's temper in full, which has caused his early life to be turbulent to say the least. He has gotten into trouble with the City Watch more often than not, and has had to be hauled back to his family's villa quite a few times over the years. His father and Morgan have had legendary shouting matches, the two rubbing on each other like salt on an open wound when their tempers are roused. Luckily his mother is a voice of reason and was able to calm both of them down, or things may have come to blows more than once.
These days Morgan works to keep his temper more under control, though his rage is hardly diminished. He tries to focus it though, instead of just lashing out in a fit of temper. He venerates his family's ancestors, and has learned to call on them when he is truly enraged.
Adventure Hook: Meet Me in Phandalin - In the city of Neverwinter your dwarf patron and friend, Gundren Rockseeker, hires you to escort a wagon to Phandalin.
Magic Item Wishlist: Greatsword +1 Cloak of protection Winged boots Half Plate +1 Mantel of Spell resistance
The Character's Future: Morgan just wishes to prove himself to hsis family. He has been a head-strong, and anger-based youth, and wishes to show he can be more than that.
Background and Story: Gurboldt hails from, Colin's Creek, a small town on the way from Neverwinter to Silverymoon. He has recently attended a meeting of clerics from all over the Sword Coast in Neverwinter - Gurboldt was invited as a speaker for the clerics representing Torm, the god of courage and self-sacrifice. To earn a little money on the way back to Colin's Creek (and being in no particular hurry to return), Gurboldt took an offer to escort a wagon to Phandalin.
The Character's Future: Save an ally from the jaws of certain death.
Tidbit about Yourself: I've been playing DnD for about 2 years. I love reading. I usually read adventure books and history books. And I speak a few languages.
Hook: Lived in Phandalin for many years since he fled his home in the south but has decided to begin searching for answers to why he hears voices in his head. He figures a good way to start his career is by working for a fellow dwarf as a guard or guide or whatever might be needed.
Magic item list: Compiling list now.
Future: Vondus looks to find someone, or something, that can answer his questions. Why do I hear voices inside my head? Or die valiantly trying.
Me: Been playing 5e D&D for the last year and a bit here on DDB. One (still running) campaign and numerous flash in the pan attempts. Some I left, others stopped naturally. I find engagement from all including the DM is key to my enjoyment of the games.
I live in Australia, so my posting times (and my spelling) can vary greatly to the rest of the known world. I like dogs.
wait what?? Manipulated dice rolls? I didn’t do anything except copy and paste the macro... and now that warning is gone. I don’t get it...
Race: Half-Elf or V human... not sure yet
Class: Fighter (Battle Master)
Backstory:
Bertrand never knew his parents. He grew up a slave and can’t remember a life before that. As he grew, he was found to be quicker and stronger than his peers and was quickly pulled from manual labor for gladiatorial training. He was taught combat and was sold into the fighting pits where he thrived. His quickness of mind, body, and tongue kept him alive.
His skills grew and his need for love from a parent was replaced in part by the love of the crowd. He enjoyed performing in front of them and would play a flute over the bodies of his defeated foes earning the nickname “The bloody bard.” In time he earned enough fame, glory, skill, and money to secure his freedom from slavery but continued to fight for the love of the crowd and traveled from town to town earning money from exhibition matches. Secretly he looks for clues to his past but after so much time, will he ever be able to find out who he is?
Adventure Hook:
Bertrand is often hired as a mercenary for guard duty and escort missions. He uses that as an excuse to travel from town to town, challenging local champions to 1 on 1 combat and looking for clues to his past. Being hired to guard a transport guard is a typical way for him to get around and earn some coin.
Rare Items:
I’m not sure. Will have to do some research on that. I’m relatively new to the game so don’t know a lot of higher level magic items.
Character’s future: He has two main goals. 1. To find his people and where he came from, who is he? 2. To test himself and defeat all challengers and become the greatest swordsman the world has ever seen.
About me: I’m relatively new to the game. Grew up during the satanic panic and there’s no way my mom would have let me play D&D even though I always wanted to. I’m in my early 40s now, have a wife and three kids and am enjoying 1 PBP that I’ve been able to join. I also DM a group of friends via roll20. I have been playing video games since before they were cool. Right now I’m really into rogue like or rogue lite games. Enter the gungeon, dead cells, slay the spire, etc. They really fit my pick up and play an hour here or there lifestyle since I’ve gotten old and responsible.
Background and Story: Guhner's father dug ditches for their mountain village. In secret, he was a practicing wizard who didn't shun magic. He noticed bits of wild magic lingering in Guhner and taught his son to embrace magic and magic users. When Guhner was around eight years old, his father left for Waterdeep to study at Blackstaff Tower. As his dad earned his education, Guhner played with kids of spellcasters. When Guhner reached adulthood, his father was killed by a group of Night Masks who sought to break into Blackstaff Tower. With no link to Waterdeep, Guhner left and traveled the Sword Coast. His path led him to Neverwinter and the Rockseeker Brothers, who employed him to work in their business. After learning of his employer's disappearance, he began preparations to find them.
Adventure Hook: Guhner worked for Gundran Rockseeker in Neverwinter for a bit, doing odd jobs. He comes to Neverwinter to learn what happened to the Rockseeker brothers.
Magic Item Wishlist: Uncommon items: +1 Greataxe, Bag of Holding, Stone of Good Luck. Rare items: Belt of Dwarven Kind, Gauntlets of Ogre Power
The Character's Future: Once he earns in fame and fortune, Guhner would like to return to Waterdeep and join the Gray Hands and avenge his father's murder.
Tidbit about Yourself: I've been playing D&D since high school and 5e for three years. I'm almost finished with my first published one shot adventure.
Background and Story: An imposing hulk of a creature. His golden skin and complete absence of hair, except for some rather long wispy whiskers that drop from his chin and jowls, makes him a unique sight in this part of the world. Has he run far enough from Anauroch?
Adventure Hook: Phandalin is far enough off the main thoroughfares that perhaps this is a location where one can start over, lay low, find purpose.
Magic Item Wishlist: 3x Uncommon items you would like to find: Coiling Grasp Tattoo, Periapt of Wound Closure, Stone of Good Luck / 2x Rare items you would die for: Bracers of Defense, Cloak of Displacement
The Character's Future: What Eunsix truly wants, down to the depths of his being, he knows he will never obtain, barring a miracle from the gods. So killing a Dragon or finding a powerful magical item, at least, seems doable.
Tidbit about Yourself: Father of three grown kids, no grandkids. Been wanting to play this adventure for some time. Hoping the third time’s the charm. First time, the game ended as we entered the first cave and the second has stalled just after we entered Phandalin. So, here’s hoping.
Alexa comes from a fairly wealthy Neverwintan family. Free to spend time on hobbies rather than hard work, young Alexa challenged herself with locks and shadows. Now in adulthood, she advertises herself as a security consultant. When not hunting down criminals for the city watch, she works for local shopkeepers, helping them improve their security measures. At night she solicits clients by breaking in and leaving a calling card beside their valuables. She's not ready for the big time, though - security for the truly wealthy - and she knows it. She needs practice with tougher locks and better traps. So when Gundren contacted her - he had been a client of hers - she jumped at the opportunity.
WIsh List:
Goggles of Night, Ring of Mind Shielding, Boots of Elvenkind; Cape of the Mountebank, Robe of Eyes
Alexa's primary goal is experience. By the time she's through, she wants to be able to pick hard locks with some degree of reliability. (In terms of game mechanics, picking hard (DC20) locks about half the time would mean having a +10 to Dex checks for it - +3 proficiency, +3 again for expertise, then +4 dex modifier.) She would be thrilled, too, to find a magical item that would help her in her craft.
Personally, I'm a dad with three littles, who like to play D&D too; I enjoy reading; and I've been playing 5e on and off for about two years.
Additionally, this is the first time I'll be playing a character with a gender other than my own. I look forward to the challenge.

Name: Tahnis Grey
Abilities: Ability scores: 171111141312
Race: Half-elf
Class / Subclass: Druid - evantually turn to Fey Wanderer
Background and Story: Tahnis was born in the world of Krynn, named after one of the great heroes. His father Jonathan is an archdruid and member of the Legion of Steel and his mother, Enelya, is actually from Faeurn - she was a bard/fighter from Evereska. After marrying Jonathan, she became a sheriff's deputy in the town of Solace. Tahnis' family explored Krynn during his youth. When he became an adult, he grew curious about his mother's home realm. For their son's birthday, Jonathan and Enelya made a map and journal for him detailing the various sites he should visit. Thanks to an archmage friend, Tahnis found himself in Faeurn. One of the places on his list was Phandelin and that's how he arrived.
Adventure Hook: Phandelin is one of the places his parents put on his list.
Magic Item Wishlist: +1 bow, Bag of Holding and Cloak of Elvenkind. Rare: One of the Bard's instruments (he might multiclass into bard), Frostband short sword.
The Character's Future: I'd like for Tahnis to meet one of his mother's relatives. He's got an uncle - her brother - who's an archmage, and his maternal grandfather is an Evereskan Tomb Guardian. It could be akin to when Joseph Joestar met Jotaro Kuko.
Backstory: Fergus lived a happy life with his tribe in the great forest, studying with the druid who served as a shaman for them. One day he returned from an overnight food-collecting trip to discover the smoldering ashes of his village, the bodies of his friends and family strewn about. It appeared evident that a dragon had raided their settlement, whether for food, treasure, or sadistic pleasure. Overcome with sorrow, Fergus fled the forest and began wandering, in search of peace and purpose. He sought for news of other druidic circles where he could train and learn to increase his bond with the natural world. He was recently given the task to study the flora and fauna along the Triboar trail, and in Neverwinter wood. As he journeyed, he found himself in Phandalin.
Adventure Hook: Fergus has been wandering on his own for a while, and would be grateful to join a party for some companionship, and perhaps to enlist allies to find the dragon that destroyed his home.
Magic Item Wishlist: Uncommon: Wooden shield +1, Staff of the Python, Cloak of Protection Rare:Necklace of Prayer Beads, Staff of Healing
The Character's Future: Find the dragon that destroyed my village (and get revenge!)
Tidbit about Yourself: love LOTR, Dragon Age, Pixar, Marvel
Backstory: Calliope encountered a sacred faerie circle in the heart of the forest, and was given the choice of a Pact, or to be forever transported to the Feywild. She chose the former.
Adventure Hook: Calliope's patron has sent her in search of an extremely rare flower that only blooms in the woodlands near Phandalin.
Magic Item Wishlist: Uncommon: Rod of the Pact Keeper (+1), Staff of the Python, Winged Boots Rare: Bracers of Defense, Rod of the pact Keeper (+2)
The Character's Future: Spread joy and beauty wherever she goes
Tidbit about Yourself: Playing D&D for 10+ years, bilingual

Name: Nalomanterys Forestsong
Abilities: Ability scores: 141011131610
Race: Forest Gnome
Class / Subclass: Paladin / Oath of the Ancients
Background and Story: Nalomanterys comes from a village of Forest Gnomes who live in the Neverwinter woods. As a child, he was singled out as a "wanderer", a Gnome blessed by Baervan Wildwanderer, the Gnomish god of the woodlands. Following Gnomish tradition, a wanderer leaves his village when he becomes an adult and learns from the experiences nature gives him. When he has learned how to guard his village, the wanderer returns and becomes the village elder - a job to both protect the village from harm and to teach the villagers how to live with nature.
Adventure Hook: Nalomanterys has just become an adult and has left for his pilgrimage. Blessed with the inquisitive and good-hearted nature characteristic of wanderers, Nalomanterys has been tailing a group of adventurers, trying to learn what he can from them. He sticks to the trees, but one day, one of them notices him...
Magic Item Wishlist: uncommon: lantern of revealing, boots of striding and springing, hat of disguise rare: bag of beans, cloak of displacement
The Character's Future: Nalomanterys would love to rally the party from despair.
Tidbit about Yourself: I've been playing DnD for about 2 years. I love reading. I usually read adventure books and history books. And I speak a few languages.
Hook: He has acted as guide or guard for adventurers before and his previous employment left him in Phandalin. He seeks either further employment or perhaps a travelling group in need of a guide.
Magic item list: Uncommon - Winged Boots, Bag of Tricks, Cloak of Protection. Rare - Dragonguard. I'm really open to anything.
Future: Vondus seeks nothing less than to witness a dragon in full flight. Even if it is just before he pulls the trigger on his crossbow.
Me: Been playing 5e D&D for the last year and a bit here on DDB. One (still running) campaign and numerous flash in the pan attempts. Some I left, others stopped naturally. I find engagement from all including the DM is key to my enjoyment of the games.

Alexa Gilder
Ability scores: 13 17 8 10 7 15
V. Human Rogue (Swashbuckler)
Recruitment Closed. Thank you for your posts. Will make a decision soon.
Reopening this thread, had our druid dropout. So, looking for a Nature based class (Druid, Ranger, or Feyish?) for PbP:LMoP.
Requirements:
Name: Tahnis Grey
Abilities: Ability scores: 17 11 11 14 13 12
Tidbit about Yourself: I write fantasy fiction.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.

Hi I’d love to join if that’s cool!
I am part of the cult of Jerry, fear Jerry, love Jerry, be Jerry, we are Jerry. I'm really sorry that I haven't been able to Dm recently. I owe everyone a lot of apologies . I'm really sorry. I would like to start a new campaign. Message me for questions.
Name: Nalomanterys Forestsong
Abilities: Ability scores: 14 10 11 13 16 10
Magic Item Wishlist: uncommon: lantern of revealing, boots of striding and springing, hat of disguise
rare: bag of beans, cloak of displacement
The Character's Future: Nalomanterys would love to rally the party from despair.
Tidbit about Yourself: I've been playing DnD for about 2 years. I love reading. I usually read adventure books and history books. And I speak a few languages.
Ability scores: 11 12 10 11 15 13
Name: Vondus Brawnanvil
Race: Mountain Dwarf
Class/subclass: Ranger (into Beast Master)
Background: Outlander
I live in Australia, so my posting times (and my spelling) can vary greatly to the rest of the known world. I like dogs.
Closing recruitment. Thank you for your posts.
