“IT IS TIME FOR THE FIRST CHALLENGE! Before we get into physical tests, let’s see how strong your mind is. When the shroud disappears, you will find yourself surround by 2 other people and each person has a doppleganger that looks exactly like them. You will be given 18 seconds to figure out which of each pair is the fake. The ones you vote will be teleported into range of the bomb right before it detonates.”
”Now, how will you tell who’s who? Well, the dopplegangers have been modified by yours truly to have no knowledge of real life. They will only work off of what they learn from reading their target’s mind. Everyone ready? Alright!”
“3! 2! 1! BEGIN!”
The darkness around you drops. You find yourself in a corner of the section that Iorith Magnus has put you in. Just as he said, you have a look-alike near you. It looks like there are 3 pairs of twins, including you that is.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zeke sighs, and says in a stage whisper, "Gimmicks like this are hard for the audience to follow, you know. I can ad lib with the best of them, however. Improv is among my skills."
Now visible, you see that Zeke is a bald man, his skull and face covered in tattoos, and what is visible of his arms covered in sleeve tattoos. He has numerous piercings, eyebrow, lip, nose, ears, etc. He has a short mohawk of hair dyed green with likely expensive dyes. He has been made to be a caricature of menace. The caps he wears over his teeth make the tips look filed to a sharp point. He is a professional entertainer, a gladiator celebrity, and this is the image he has crafted.
"Accept no imitations for Zeke the Freak! I'll just kill the poser and that will show you who the one and only king of the ring is!"
OOC: Zeke's intention is to simply kill the doppelganger to make the choice a non-issue.
As soon as you say that, the voice booms out again. “There will be no fighting just yet. As I said, the purpose of the challenge is to figure out who the others’ dopplegangers are.”
Zeke, still "in character," calls up to the voice, which he assumes to be the announcer, "And as anyone can tell you, the REAL Zeke the Freak doesn't play by any rules his his own! I'm killin' this poser-boy!"
In the quieter, more cultured voice, he speaks to the other "performers," including his own mirror image, "Awfully convoluted narrative they have for us on this one. I do hope the audience can follow it. Well, you all signed your waivers, I trust? Full lethal, and I expect no litigation after the fact."
Zeke thinks he is a high end entertainer, a celebrity gladiator, and assumes the "fake Zeke" is part of the act, and that he will slay the fake and prove to the "audience" he is the real Zeke the Freak, and then he will deliver his trademark bombastic dialogue. He believes trained medics and clerics are standing by to tend to the injured. On Initiative 7 Zeke plans to open fire on "other Zeke."
OOC: Unless something intervenes in him doing so, Zeke does intend to fire on his doppelganger this round. Let me know if something is preventing that, and the distance to the doppelganger.

When his turn arrives, Zeke uses the Attack Action to fire a Hand Crossbow twice with Extra Attack, then a Bonus Action for another Hand Crossbow attack with Crossbow Expert. Even if the enemy has engaged him in melee by this time he does not suffer Disadvantage, due to Crossbow Expert. He can shoot up with 120 ft with the Sharpshooter feat without Disadvantage. He will make use of the Sharpshooter -5 to hit +10 to damage feature on all attacks. He will use Fighter Archetype-Battle Master Superiority Dice on attack rolls that are low until he uses those. He will use Action Surge to make another Attack Action, for 2 more attacks due to Extra Attack, for 5 attacks total this round. Rolls:
1st Attack Action:
1st Attack Roll: 10
--Nat 1, cannot benefit from Precision from Battlemaster, a miss
2nd Attack roll: 7
-A critical hit, piercing damage: 21
Bonus Action attack (from Crossbow Expert)
-Attack roll: 6
-Too low to warrant Precision, likely a miss
Action Surge - 2nd attack action
1st Attack: 6
-High enough precision is not needed, piercing damage: 14
2nd attack from the 2nd Action Surge Attack Action, and final of the round
-Attack Roll: 5
-Critical hit, piercing damage: 15
Zeke ends the round having used Action Surge (1 per short rest) but retaining all 4 Superiority Dice. Likely did 53 Piercing damage, assuming the 18 hit in addition to the 2x crit hits. The nat 1 is an auto miss, and the 5 was a likely miss.
“Think about it like this, friend. If the real one dies, so does the doppleganger. That’s how I believe it works. But if the doppleganger dies, the real one stays. Am I correct?” Telavir asks his counterpart.
Other Telavir replies, “That makes sense, I suppose, but there’s no way of knowing without risking a life. Besides, you heard him say we weren’t allowed to fight. Who knows what would happen to me if I punched you?”
Hearing the logical argumentation between the other set of possible real people, possible doppelgangers, Zeke calls out shrilly, “Can’t vote for a dead man! I make my own rules! Zeke the Freak! Lemme hear you, Freak Nation! Make some noise!” As he does this his hands are a blur of motion, firing out hand crossbow bolts at the other Zeke.
"All the same, you are nice to talk to. But if you're the real me, tell me one of my accomplishments. They're rather meager, to be honest, but I do have some. Not a particular one, just... in general. One of my accomplishments."
(The dopplegangers have no real life experience and go on what they learn from reading thoughts. Telavir wouldn't think of a particular accomplishment at the moment. What he'd do is wait until they actually say one, then recall if it's happened in his life or not.)
(Your character knows who the doppleganger is: it’s whoever looks like him but isn’t him. The challenge is proving yourself to the people that don’t know you.)

OOC: And to confirm, none of us know each other? So we're guessing who the doppelganger is with really no data to measure from?
((Yes. These dopplegangers only know what their target knows. I intentionally made it a little difficult, so the next challenge is even more fun.))
Zeke sighs, and says in a stage whisper, "Gimmicks like this are hard for the audience to follow, you know. I can ad lib with the best of them, however. Improv is among my skills."

Telavir has a much different strategy. One more random but potentially more helpful.
"You." he points to the other Telavir.
"You." he points to the dewdrop in the top left.
"and you." he points to the Zeke that didn't speak.
"Dopplegangers."
(His doppleganger reads Telavir's mind: "I have no idea, but at the end of the day they'll never know, and that's all for the best.")
The other Telavir points back at his lookalike. “No, you’re the doppleganger.”
The other Zeke lets out a roar. “I will break every bone in your body!”
The other Dewdrop (bottom right) nods along with Telavir, “Yeah that’s the fake one.”
OOC: Unless something intervenes in him doing so, Zeke does intend to fire on his doppelganger this round. Let me know if something is preventing that, and the distance to the doppelganger.
((Aside from the character version of Iorith Magnus saying the rules don’t allow it, no. Being aggressive might get you voted though.))

Zeke will have to make a wisdom saving throw.
Zeke, make a wisdom saving throw.
Zeke's wisdom save: 8

(I know that, roll with it. I have plans. ;)
