Hi all, I am looking for another player to join an all warlock dragonheist campaign. We currently have one Genie, one Undying, one Fathomless (and maybe a hexblade but not sure they are with us still). I will be prioritising people who are not in my All Bards or other All Warlock campaigns, but doesn't mean you can't apply. (if you are in any other campaign of mine, that doesn't impact it). I am also not against having duplicated subclasses, so if your ideal one is taken, that doesn't mean you can't apply.
Application format:
Name:
Race: (Any official one is fine)
Subclass: (Any official one is fine)
Background: (Not the backgrounds that give feats, any other published one is fine)
Backstory: (Can be any length, longer doesn't always mean better. Happy for it to be PM'd if you want it secret)
Stats: (Either point buy, or roll here, rerolling 1salways and if the total before racial modifiers is less than 72, you can reroll. You can also choose point buy after rolling if you wish)
Characters are level 1 (quite early on still)
I am happy to consider homebrew provided I think it is balanced.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Tonkana Kris
Race: Goliath
Subclass: The Fiend ( Yeenoghu)
Background: Soldier
Backstory: Tonkana left her community in the Sword Mountains many years ago, finding manual work in construction and eventually as a caravan guard and mercenary. Captured by gnolls she was tortured by their shaman for months in rites designed to please Yeenoghu......she finally mangaed to escape tearing out the shamans throat with her teeth in the process...but something of that time is still with her...something has crawled into her soul and even now she feels it urging her towards savagery...
Backstory: Sehaethas was a wandering minstrel, wandering from town to town singing songs and telling stories to pay for his food and lodging, and maybe a bit of spare change. He consistently took the form of a half-elf, and would leave to the next town before his secret that he was a changeling was discovered. Though he was sometimes called a bard, he lacked the magical power of a true bard. He longed for this power, but it always seemed to be out of his reach. One night his wish was granted. The next town had been further than expected, so Sehaethas found himself sleeping under the stars. When one of the stars seemed to talk to him, offering him the power he sought. Sehaethas accepted the offer without thinking about or considering the consequences. In an instant, he learned secrets man was not meant to know. This fractured his mind giving birth to Kylaski, a woman's personality very different than Sehaethas. Where Sehaethas is cautious and careful, Kylaski is carefree and interested only in the moment. And only Kylaski had the secret knowledge! All that the Sehaethas personality got out of this deal was a troublesome hitchhiker. When Kylaski takes control, she changes into a Tiefling woman (much to the annoyance of the deep cover Sehaethas). Kylaski is easily bored, and when she's bored with what's going on, she gives control back to Sehaethas, but she can take over any time things are getting interesting. Sehaethas has no way to talk to Kylaski other than talking out loud. Kylaski could speak to Sehaethas telepathically, but usually doesn't bother. She can speak to others telepathically even while Sehaethas is in control of their shared body.
Note: From 4e The Great Old One's were the domain of madness. To some extent that is still true. So a character with a split personality...
Lirael Everglow hails from the ethereal realms of the Feywild, where the seasons themselves ebb and flow in harmony with the whims of the Archfey. Born during a shimmering autumn dusk, Lirael’s auburn hair and golden eyes reflect the enchanting beauty of her birthplace. As an Eladrin, she has always been in tune with the shifting moods of the seasons, her appearance and abilities changing in tandem with them.
From a young age, Lirael heard the Archfey whispering in her mind like a faint song in the background. These whispers were both comforting and unsettling, guiding her actions and teaching her the ancient magic of the Fey
Backstory: (Below) Rassi's concept is a the transformation from person to genie, her ability to refuse requests being taken from her by the same one who gave her power, she has been condemned to the solitary and sorrowful life of a Genie, in the end, she will become a genie herself.
Rassi Ascobra was born into relatively well off family, for her home town- by no means were they Nobles, but they certainly were not peasants. The source of their station - a well-guarded secret: a powerful genie trapped within an ancient lamp. The genie, bound by magic to serve the family, granted their wishes, ensuring their continued success and prosperity.
As a child, Rassi enjoyed the privileges of her position in life, but as she grew older, her curiosity and intelligence led her to question the source of her family's secrets. Late one night, she stumbled upon the answers she had so been looking for: the genie in the lamp, a being of immense power and sorrow.
Rassi's learned of the centuries-old pact that bound the genie to servitude, when she questioned her parents about the being trapped in a lamp in their backroom, they dismissed her concerns, emphasizing the benefits the genie had brought to the family over the years- generations really.
When her mother suddenly fell ill, everything seemed to go wrong all at once. The folk in her town decided to take this weakness and run with it, accosting her family about the secrets to their stability, threatening them all. As it progressively got worse, her father went to the genie, begging for it’s help only to be turned down for the first time- the genie is bound to her mother. Not him.
Their stocks run out, their crops ransacked, gold became tight- they couldn’t afford medicine for her mother anylonger.
In secret, Rassi approached the genie and struck a bargain. The genie, sensing her desperation and genuine desire to aid her family, agreed to the pact—but with a cruel twist. As part of their agreement, Rassi lost the ability to refuse any request, binding her will to the genie's whims. Furthermore, the genie revealed that Rassi was now on a path to eventually become a genie herself, cursed to share in its eternal servitude.
