Looking for 1 to 3 players to set into an in-progress game that is set in the American West in 1873. The characters, so far are part of a ranch in the Montana Territory. If interested please post a character on this thread. I refer to the game as Cowboy's, Indians, and Wizards. Character Requirements: Stats: Roll 4d6, reroll 1's once. All races are considered. no homebrew races All classes from any of the books and UA are allowed...no homebrew. Level is 4th-multiclassing is allowed. You should have an idea why the character has left 'back east' to the rugged frontier of the Old West. Current Characters: Kalashtar Druid Human Warlock Half-Orc Barbarian
All you need to make a lot of gold is a little gold. Except at those times when all you need to have no gold at all is a little gold. Whether you’re a good gambler or a bad one rarely matters, because no one can divine the whims of Lady Luck. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down. But the thing about gambling is that someone is always willing to take a bet.
Odds and probability are your bread and butter. During downtime activities that involve games of chance or figuring odds on the best plan, you can get a solid sense of which choice is likely the best one and which opportunities seem too good to be true, at the DM’s determination.
Backstory:
William “Bill” Clay is soft-spoken with nerves of steel, he survived countless gunfights due to his extraordinary patience and resolute manner. He began his life as a buffalo hunter, a miner, card dealer, stagecoach driver, saloon owner, and much more throughout the years.
William “Bill” Clay was born May 1, 1843 to Leslie Clay and Dakota Clay in Monmouth, Illinois. His father, Leslie Clay, was a lawyer and a farmer who had formerly served in the Army. The would-be lawman was named for his father’s former Army captain. Older brothers Johnathan and Dante were aged seven and five by the time Bill came along. He also had an older sister named Susan who was three.
Just two years later, the family moved to Iowa where Leslie established a farm. Soon three more siblings would join the rapidly growing family – Morgaana in 1851, Thomas in 1855, and Samuael in 1861. Leslie always had high regard for land and for the law, instilling in his children the same respect.
Eventually the family moved to Colton, California near San Bernardino. Along the way, Bill was given his first weapon — a rifle and combination shotgun, to help protect the family against attacking Indians. Young Bill soon acquired a six-gun and practiced every day, becoming a deadly marksman. (If you're okay with it, I added proficiency hunting rifle, shotgun, and revolver).
When he arrived in California, he worked as a teamster and a railroad worker for a time. But soon he began to work his way back east as a buffalo hunter, wagon train scout, and a railroad hand.
By 1870 Bill had worked his way to Texas, where he fell in love and married Juliet Amarillo. However, their time together was to be brief when Julie died within a year of their marriage. From outlaws who raided their homestead and set it ablaze. With the fire to his back and his Colt in his hand, Bill made an oath to avenge his wife.
Heartbroken, Bill headed to Indian Territory working as a buffalo hunter and stagecoach driver. Trying to gather information on the gang that had taken his love from him. However, he and two travel companions were soon accused of stealing horses. After paying his bail and proving his innocence by tracking down those who did commit the act Bill headed for Montana after hearing a rumor that information on the gang that ruined his life maybe there.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

I already applied for your game before in your original recruitment, but it was at two AM, and I cant actually make sense of what I wrote. Here is my new application
I grew up in the eastern reaches of the Sagebrush Steppe. My family had a large piece of land that bordered the vast sea. We had lots of cropland and some plains to raise cattle. I spent my youth working on the ranch as well as tinkering with old recycled junk on the homestead to make new tools. It was an enjoyable life, but when I was only 15 my parents passed away, leaving me the farm.
A few years passed, things fell into place on the ranch and I met a lovely young lady named Julianna, who later became my bride. We had a great life for a few years, but it didn't last long. 5 years ago, a small group of bandits moved into the area and bullied us for half our crop. They bullied others in the area as well, but since none of us were fighters, so we didn't feel like we could do anything about it. There was no law in this area. We all still had enough to make do... Until our crop got infested with a plague that wiped out the majority of our harvest.
When the bandits came for the harvest, we had nothing to give without risking our own supplies for the winter. They killed all of our cattle in response and stole what little we did have from the harvest. They left us nothing to battle the harsh winter. Julianna fell ill pretty quickly in the season, and we had nothing to trade for help. She passed away on Christmas day.
After Julianna's death I tried to rebuild, but I had nothing left. My wife and livelihood were all taken from me.
Since I had nothing left to lose, I put together a crude black powder weapon, grabbed an old rusted sword, and went straight to the bandit's home. I had no expectation to walk out alive, but I wanted to take as many with me as possible before I died.
I took them by surprise while some of them were away. I killed a few before I found the leader of the gang. I wanted nothing more than to make him suffer, but in the end, I couldn't bring myself to do it. So I put a bullet in his head, lit the house on fire, and walked away.
My actions that day ended up helping a lot of people. All of my neighbors offered to help me get back on my feet as a thanks, but the memories of home were too painful to stay, so I set out as a nomad, hoping to help as many people as I could from experiencing the same kind of loss as I did.
A year has passed since I left, I've built up enough funds through doing odd jobs for people that I've finally been able to make myself a proper pistol, purchase some armor, and a few other items. It's time to set out to do some good in this world.

Name: Ravoskan Krifinas Race: Protector Aasimar Class: Divine Soul Sorcerer Background: Folk Hero Brief Backstory: Ravoskan was born to eastern European immigrants in 1831. His parents taught him calligraphy as a youth and he employed it as a method of making a living, writing letters, both personal and professional, for those who wished to make an impression, as well as reading and helping to interpret letters and contracts for others. Eventually he and his neighbors noticed he was not aging as others were. His grandfather took him aside and shared an old family legend, that every so often, one of their ancestors would age very slowly and develop strange abilities and would leave for years at a time, claiming to have been on a mission from an angel whose name they would not mention. Ravoskan's grandfather said he must be one of them, and is destined for greater things than wielding a pen and sent him forth to discover and learn. Over the next few years he wandered west, following a feeling he couldn't explain, he developed his abilities and learned to use them to aid those around him. Had a question, I know its set in america but how are non human races explained?
Some represent ethnic/cultural references, and some are just general parts of the population. Most cultures have each race in some form or another in their oral history but, some do represent cultures that have been used in D & D literature from it's beginning.
Halfling-Irish Dwarf-From Scottish to Norwegian Elf- I kind of tend to place some of these as the French. Gnome-from German to Jewish
there could be more but, this is a game about fantasy so use your imagination.
