I noticed a lot of people have missed out on games they want to join by me or someone else, so I’m creating a second campaign for the story of deep space and dragons. While the first one (which is still ongoing) is about stopping war, this one will be a swashbuckling adventure as the party embarks on smaller scale quests, though still able to change the fate of the universe. Linked to this post is the other threads and a google doc with all of the needed information.
If you are currently playing in the Deep Space and Dragons campaign, please do not apply to this thread. Other than that, fill in the following template, and I hope to see you among the stars!

Name- Helena Graymantle Race- Variant Human Class- Wizard (Order of scribes) Ability Scores- Ability scores: 161614121115 Backstory-
Helena is from Constantium, where she has worked as a clerk and scholar all of her life. She is a mousey-haired woman in her late twenties, wearing a lose-fitting jumpsuit and goggles. She always has a data pad in hand, constantly taking notes on everything around her, a habit she learned in her duties.
Here's my application! 3rd level right?(I'm using a different character then my last application)
Name: Apium Graveolens
Race: Aarakocra
Class: War Cleric
Abilitiy scores: 161415121710
Faith: Priest of Hoar
Backstory:
Apium and Father
To Apium, the world was unfair. Why couldn’t he interact with other people? Why couldn’t he spread his wings and fly to other worlds, filled with life and beauty? He was always at home, working, working, working. Father wouldn’t let Apium out.
“Get some water, bird!” Father shouted “I’m thirsty!”
“Cook dinner, bird!” Father screamed “And don’t mess up like you usually do!”
“Why aren’t you working!” Father raged “Stop sitting around and clean!” Of course he loved his family, of course he loves his family, he loves his family, he needs to love his family, family is love, love is family.
Friends, are dangerous
Father always said friends are dangerous. Why should Apium need friends when Apium has family? Why not stay at home with Father? Why not stay at home with Mana and Chan? Apium loved Mana and Chan. Apium would always play with them! They had amazing adventures together!
At night.
Sitting on the basement floor.
Chained to the ground.
In a cage.
Father will come back in the morning, yes! Father always comes back. Father is family. Father is love! Apium tries to explore outside! Show Mana and Chan the outside world. Apium keeps going outside, a little farther every day. One day he sees a city with metallic towers, like metal knives piercing the sky. Boats with balloons. Towers with fire, flying up. Metallic ships disappearing and reappearing. “Why would father not bring me here, if it is so close by?” Apium wondered “Father is family. Father is love. Maybe Father didn’t know?” Apium enters the village.
Apium is excited, all these new people, so tall! Apium tries new food. Apium learns. Apium goes to a temple. Apium sees a big tower, shiny! A item that shoots out light! Ouch! Apium is confused. Apium is happy. Apium wants to go back and tell father all the new things he learned! Apium hears shouting in the town. A heated argument. An angry man. Father! Apium is in the basement. Father took Mana and Chan away. Apium doesn’t get food now. Apium is screaming. Not for help. Not of sadness. Anger. Rage. Apium saw the other children. So free. As free as a bird! Apium was jealous. Apium was mad. Why wasn’t father letting him play outside? Why wasn’t father letting him go to school? Why can't he go up the tower. That boat with a balloon! Apium falls asleep. Apium dreams of the temple. The gods and goddesses. How nice they must be! I want to see them. Apium finds some charcoal and a big piece of lead. Why does father have this? Apium writes how he wants to meet the gods, and how he hates father. Apium falls asleep.
Apium wakes up to a sweet smell. Apium looks in front of himself and see’s bread. Apium also see’s a light shooter. A metal thing. A note! “
Touch me!”
Apium touches the metal thing. The chains fall off. The cage falls apart. The door swings open. Apium has power. Apium finds father. Apium makes the house go boom! Bye bye father!
Duncan was born on the wrong side of the war and grew up poor and afraid. In his mid teens he managed to stow away on a ship away, though was caught by the rich lord’s men. Fortunately the Lord was kind, and after Duncan showed him his strength of character, decided to send him to the Academy if Duncan would agree to serve under him once out. Duncan has now graduated, among the top in his class, and is headed back to join the Lord’s men as an officer of the guard.
Calleigh grew up with a crew from the Jhonka'pa Marauders that her parents were both a part of. From a young age she was put to work, doing a lot of cooking and cleaning and other such menial tasks. Another member of the crew took a liking to her and started to teach her about creating magitech. Now older, she has learned a lot about magitech and was able to build an innovative set of armor personalized to herself. She always dreamed of a life outside of the ship and crew she spent her whole life with, and has grander ambitions than being just another pirate. So, feeling that she was ready, she set off to learn more and find her own path.
Enslaved by humans in the Terra system, Semuni was an ordinary girl in almost every way. She was not very strong, nimble, hardy, or smart, but she had aspirations to one day be among the stars. Throughout her enslavement, she managed to spend her free time writing poetry about the stars and writing about her dreams in her journal. One fateful day, Selûne smiles upon her and gave her an opportunity to escape the planet that she had been trapped on her whole life. Sneaking onto a ship, she managed to creep her way out of slavery and into the IAR. There she has stayed until she had finally saved enough money to get a job on another ship where she hopes to finally be able to fulfill her dream of touching the stars.
Raised on space ships all his life he grew up knowing all about them and what makes them run and he decided to leave the ship he was raised on the find his own place among the stars.
Tmisa is the last daughter of a long line of pirate queens. Back before space travel get great great great great great great great great great great great great great Grandma was Scurvy Sal of the Saltcrasher, name of merchant and monastery alike. Tmisa is so devoted to get legacy that she has manifested the powers of the seas across the cosmos (Oath of the open Sea) and seeks her fortune at the detriment of others.
The Dowells were a group of farmers on the Kevlar Colonien, known in their community for being happy people. Then in a sudden accident, ruin a wealthy tourist of the New Crown's ship.. They did not have the type of money to pay, so Amstrell's father agreed to a contract, he would work unpaid, until the price of the ship was repaid, thats what the lawyers said. In actuality, the contract says triple the ships worth because of "emotional trauma". There was nothing Amstrell could do. He did have a few tricks though. Amstrell was surprisingly smart, snd his prized inventions was tech controlled by his voiceHe was also surprisingly charismatic, using both of these, he scammed his way into the wealthy circle, with fast talk and interesting inventions. Eventually he will scam enough wealth folk to pay his father's debt, he hopes.
Throgg is a pirate. Or he was. Change in the universe makes for change in us all. His captain has sent him away on a mission. He’s been charged with adapting to life under the constraints of rule of law and civilization rather than the nebulas of criminal enterprise. He isn’t sure what his captain has in mind, but he knows this: no one tells the captain “no.” Throgg goes to make ready the way for his captain to take the stage, awaiting new orders. In the meantime, he’s looking to join a ship’s crew, volunteering his not inconsiderable experience sailing the ‘verse.
I’m not bent on a particular patron, but I figured a fiend represented by the captain. Throgg is all about big, ugly weapons, and a well placed threat. Not so much about sneaking about...
Veliatash was born in a fairly well-off family in the IAR, her parents living "comfortably" as rich people would describe it. The point was that she had no reason to want anything, yet want she still did. She had been an orphan, adopted by human parents, kept in the dark for most of her life about her kalashtar heritage as her adoptive parents were unaware it even existed. Her ambitions were standard as she grew up; she wanted to be an archaeologist, studying the different cultures and histories scattered around the galaxy, and was on a steady path through school to do so. However, when she was a teenager, she got into an accident, falling into a coma for a few years. Put on the best medical support their family could afford (which wasn't difficult at all), Velia stayed unresponsive for some time.
She awoke years later, her previous opportunities at education having passed her by, and that was fine by her as she no longer desired that life anymore. With a strange, newly awakened kalashtar abilities present in her mind, she left home, shed her former human name, and sought out how to carve her own place in the world. Knowledge and curiosity spurred her every decision, rather than law or morals, and while still a citizen of the IAR in legal terms, Velia didn't consider herself beholden to any nation anymore. She wasn't a pirate, at least, not that she would call herself that, but thought of herself as a collector of information and a freelance bounty hunter. Mercenary, in her opinion, was too strong of a word, and pirate even stronger. She was more civilized than that.
