Rough draft, An adventurer's beginnings:
Vasselheim cradle of faith full of survivors of Venca's ascension all thriving in the shadow of a stone titan. Twenty years have passed since the retirement of our hero's Vox Machina. Here your party has assembled from different parts of the world of Exandria to the continent of Issylra for reasons of your own. Vasselheim often calls adventures to her gates. Those seeking fortune, glory, redemption, or vengeance the ancient city offering all...at a price.
We open our story opens in the Abundant Terrace at the tavern called the Hearty Haversack. A finely dressed and dashingly handsome human man named Nasser found you there and hired you for a simple task of collecting a debt for their master. Curious to get to know the city as well as to make a little coin you listen to Nasser weave a short tale over a pint and a meal which he paid for in coin form a reasonably sized purse. The task set before you is that you will be an unofficial representative a minor official form the Quadroads. Nasser does not go into great detail about his employer but what you do know is the debt is important enough to this mysterious man that it must be collected but which means of collection can not traced back to him. The debtor name is Tobia Wintermarsh. Tobias, the lackey goes on to explain, is the son of a wealthy local wine merchant. Infamous around Othanzia as a philanderer and a gambler, Tobias has owed this debt for sometime to the lacky's master but has only recently returned to the city for it be be collected. Payment for collecting the debt from Tobias is one of following including 50 gold pieces. Nasser's master will provide a favor within their power in Vasselheim or an uncommon magical item readily found within the city itself. The debt owed to his master, the lackey explains, is an object. A wooden box no bigger than a loaf of bread carved with the symbol of Erathis on all four sides. It has been specifically instructed to all of you that none of your party is to open the box and that it should be returned to him which you are told to return to the Quadroad's candlemaker's called Alight where you will make the exchange.

Name: Rawmiz, Paganus "Folk" Canto Race: Dragonborn (Black, Ravanite) Class: Bard Alignment: Neutral Good Backstory: The young Rawmiz witnessed the fall of Draconia, their long oppressing cousins to the frozen fury of Vorugal when he was a tender 6 years old. Raised in the Ravanite community the black scaled boy had witnessed the death of his mother to sickness the months earlier, and when the white dragon came to take his home as dominion his father was lost in the petty resistance. All hope was lost for the boy until the heroes known as Vox Machina came and liberated his home from the Frozen Terror, though for a time he was one of the few to see them as such. The heroes had a comrade from Draconia, and their wish for the Ravanites to honor a former oppressor did not sit well with some, but it was through defending their actions that Rawmiz found his voice, his resolve and his desire to learn. He drummed out and belted out songs of his people, stories his father taught him and his tale of Vox Machina, he learned to read and learned of the Stormwinds and the many other heroes of Draconia, and while he held his own heritage proud he spoke of being better that Draconians by remembering them as peers and equals and voiced the desire to collaborate with all peoples. Leaving home was hard for him but after a few Bardic College students on a pilgrimage for tales heard his songs he was offered a chance to study under their masters. Here he learned the tale of Vox Machina in its totality in the words of Scanlan Shorthalt and worked himself nearly to death learning all he could to master the Magic of Song so he could follow in the great bards footsteps. With the blessings of his master he set to the roads to find his own heroes and bring his songs to the world and tell the stories he knew could unite the world.
Timezone: The east coast of the united states, im usually free after 6pm Est. Legacy of Vox Machina: Paganus will most like resemble Scanlan in his combat capability, But a little bit of Keyleths hopeful naivette will be present and some of Tiberius's pride. Sins of Vox Machina: He is in no way shape or form like Percy or Vax, he may actually have an issue with Percy as he represents the upper class his people toiled beneath
Backstory: Kaskur was once great warrior until he got dethroned as leader of his own tribe he travelled the lands for 5 years until he happened upon a monastery. Where the monks kindness shocked him and he joined their ranks. He was with them for 3 years until the monastery got attacked and he was the only survivor. Backstory: Zeek doesn’t know whether his parents are alive or dead. He grew up in a monastery, dedicated to an obscure sect of warrior monks following Ioun. He grew up learning the values of discipline and respect, but also the value of change, innovation, and was imbued with a boundless thirst for knowledge and a hunger for adventure. His order believes that everyone is born equal and that those in power must earn their place. As a result, every acolyte of the order must leave the monastery to wander the world and to learn. Whilst welcome to return any time, most regard that as failure. Zeek left less than three years ago, and he has no intention of admitting failure. He intends to visit Vasselheim.
He wears the traditional colours of Ioun, blue and white, and is a quiet, calm presence. He often (mis)quotes zen-like scripture, and appears wise beyond his years.
Timezone: Europe, usually available from 6pm EST onwards
Legacy of Vox Machina: Zeek is like Pike with regards to combat and personal values
Sins of Vox Machina: He would probably resent Vex’ahlia for her greed

Put a pin in a cleric. But I do like the character idea.

Hi there! I, like some of the previous posts have not done much pbp but I have a lot of 5e experiance and have played other games in forums like this before and have a lot of experiance in forum rp.
If this is still open I would like to input my halfling druid, Trym.
Name: Trym Hilltopper
Race: Lightfoot halfling
Class: Circle of the land druid
Alignment: Neutral Good
Backstory:
Trym grew up in a small, tiny forest village filled with halflings. Her parents were the village's tailors, and taught her their tricks of the trade. Eventually, she left her village to learn more in a big city nearby where she joined a guild and started to travel, selling her wares as she went...
It was a couple of years after she left her village that she started to study putting magic into her clothes. She couldn't sell it as it was, but she was able to try and cast spells and such through her clothes, and started to help people as she went, learning how to cure and help hurt animals on the road, she started gaining a connection with the natural world, and so became the person she was today.
Tiezone: Aest: australian eastern standard time but i'm used to working around american times
Legacy of Vox Machina: A bit like Scanlan really as she's travelled around a lot and likes to have a bit of a joke, but she's lacking in charisma like Keyleth.
Sins of Vox Machina: She's probably least like Vax, not really liking letting her feelings get the best of her.
Oh! I forgot to add. I have literally seen every critical role episide to date and I also have the setting book.
Name: Ranla Race: Half-orc, 18 Class: Fighter (Eldritch Knight come level 3) Alignment: Neutral Good
Backstory: Ranla, like many half-orcs, never knew her parents, and from an early age she learned to fend for herself on the streets of Emon. While other children in her situation might have resorted to stealth and slight of hand to get by, she resorted to brute force, shaking down anyone weaker than her for their gold. She became the head of a local gang of urchins, and together they ruled the streets.
Until one day two years ago, when she crossed paths with a half-elven man named Beroan. Seeing a feeble old man and thinking him an easy mark, Ranla emerged from the shadow of an alleyway to rob him, but instead found herself on the receiving end of a hold person spell. She feared that her time was up, but instead, the old man was glad to meet Ranla, and offered her a job as his bodyguard as he went on a personal quest to discern the location of a magical artifact.
Ranla left her old life behind, and dedicated herself to protecting Beroan. At first, she was in it for the pay, but she genuinely grew to like the old man. She even started to study magic under him, though she hasn't yet mastered even the simplest spell. Beroan was rather secretive about the nature of the artifact he was researching, but he promised her that it was something spectacular.
Recently, while they were on the road, Beroan vanished overnight, along with most of his belongings. The only thing he left behind was the spell book he was using to teach Ranla. Since then, she has been searching for him, but to no avail.
(Leaving some things ambiguous for the DM to use as they see fit)
Timezone: US Central time. I should be able to make at least short posts throughout the day, and longer ones at night. Legacy of Vox Machina: Ranla is a strange mix of both Grog and Tiberius. She is strong an cocksure, but at the same time very knowledgable and interested in the arcane arts. Maybe one day she'll even cast a spell! Also like Grog, she objects to violence towards innocent and defenseless creatures (and she hates that she was ever somebody who would do such a thing herself). Sins of Vox Machina: Ranla is least like Vex'ahlia, as she is always brutally honest and straightforward.
Everyone the point buy or roll 4d6 drop the lowest 1 for manual entry into the character builder is my decision for abilities. Starting equipment or starting gold using the character builder feature to be uploaded in the campaign link.

Name: Bliz Thunderbrand
Race: Mountain Dwarf, 52 Years Old
Class: Elementalist (Wizard, Evocation)
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Backstory: Blitz was born into House Thunderbrand; one of the five noble houses of Kraghammer. Being the house that governs the Arcane Arts Blitz was expected to learn magic at a very young age. Blitz, however, was not very interested in the Arcane arts and would have rather been learning something he thought was more interesting; like brewing new kinds of alcohol. Not wanting to disappoint he studied the arts and was adequate enough in it not to disappoint his family. However, there was one member of the family that seemed to enjoy Blitz's Arcane training and would inspire him; Drake Thunderbrand. Drake would tell Blitz his stories of adventure during his younger days and how he even helped the famous group Vox Machina. It was Drake's stories that sparked Blitz's interest in studying the arcane arts and set Blitz on his path to be an Elementalist. It has been some time since Blitz has last seen Drake who is now working on his own studies. Now Blitz has been granted permission from the house elders to leave the city of Kraghammer to further his studies and test himself in the real world. He hopes one day to return home and prove himself an even greater Elementalist then his hero; Drake Thunderbrand.
Timezone: USA EST
Legacy of Vox Machina: Like Tiberius in combat; offensive spell heavy. Also, like him in terms of name pride. Like Keyleth in terms of a temper and not very charismatic; even though as a noble and possibly a future leader should be and needs to learn to be. Loves ale like Grog and a little greedy like Vex.
Sins of Vox Machina: Unlike Percy's means justify the ends view Blitz believes you should always obey the law and not make deals with shady figures. Percy would probably call him snobbish. He is also unlike Vax and Scanlan in terms of social ease and fluidity. He also doesn't like to brood and prefers to come up with a solution to his problem or just let it build up until it explodes out of him.
Note: I'm new to Critical Role, having heard of it for a while but finally got around to watching it. I know a lot of what happens because the internet and my friends spoiling stuff for me so I don't care a lot about that.
Also, I'll roll for stats because why not; that's what makes D&D fun.
