Seeking one 9th level adventurer to join an in-progress campaign!
"Beyond Twilight" is the third and final part of a sandbox campaign. Our adventurers have successfully prevented two separate world-ending events spawned by evil deities, and must now track down Kayel, The Betrayer, before he can unleash an apocalypse of his own.
Read through the rest of this post thoroughly, and if you are interested, follow the instructions to apply.
How To Apply:
- Rolling for stats is preferred, but Standard Array and Point Buy are also accepted for determining ability scores. If you are rolling for stats, those rolls must be made here or in a PM. Rerolls will only be allowed if there are no ability scores above 13. There are no other exceptions. If you are not comfortable with that risk, please use the Standard Array or Point Buy.
- Reply to this thread or send me a PM with the 1) race/class you would like to play, 2) a short background summary, and 3) your method of determining ability scores (include rolls if rolling). No Unearthed Arcana or homebrew characters will be accepted.
- Keep your backstory light; focus on intent over specifics. I will work with you to tailor your backstory and personal goals to NPCs and events pertinent to this campaign.
- There is only room for one additional player to this adventure, so please do not take offense if you are not selected. I run many games on this site, so keep your eyes peeled for future recruitment threads.
About The Adventure:
- Setting: Rikirta
- This is a sandbox campaign, so this adventure's length will vary based on the time it takes to complete the "main quest".
- Rikirta is a low-magic setting where adventurers are rare. As 9th level adventurers, the party is much stronger than the typical Rikirtan adventuring group.
- If you cannot commit to posting at least once a day, excepting occasions when you let your fellow players know you will be unable to post, please do not apply. You only need to commit to this adventure, not the entire length of the campaign.
About The DM & House Rules:
- I currently run three long-running PbP campaigns on this site and run a number of live games as well. With your response, please send me a PM that includes the phrase “Chamber of Fangs” so I know I will have players that will take time to read others' posts.
- Typically, I resolve and advance once or twice a day, depending on the situation and how quickly players post.
- I strive to keep things simple in PbP games. I do not use grids, and I use grouped initiative, which keeps combat moving swiftly.
- I do not use any averages. All health and damage is rolled.
- It hasn't occurred often, but player characters can die. I do not fudge rolls and reckless actions have consequences.
Robin is the second youngest of 12 siblings. Her father is high up in a crime guild, her mother a not-very-well-known artist. Her siblings range from politicians, merchants, adventurers, priests, and so on. Robin was mentored to a sage at a local university, but then was exiled for no given reason. She found out later it had to do with high treason, which her mentor was involved with. She has traveled a bit since then, but is unable to return to her home. Leaving it there, unless you wish more, as you asked to keep it brief.
Class: Mountain Dwarf, Path of the Ancestral Guardian Barbarian
I'm assuming 4d6 drop lowest
Ability scores, rolled: 81115171414
Short vague backstory: Armagh was a soldier in his stronghold's army. He was out on patrol when his home was attacked. When he returned, there was nothing left but corpses. He swore to avenge their deaths, and he was prepared to hunt down whatever had destroyed his home, his life, and his family right then and there. But he heard the voices of the fallen, telling him to get stronger, to come back after he stood a chance. The voices have stayed with him ever since, guiding his training with words of wisdom. He joined an adventuring guild, spending years travelling Rikirta. His old adventuring group recently broke up after a mission gone wrong, so Armagh is on the lookout for a new group to train with. Revenge is always on his mind - one day he will return and hunt down whatever caused his home's destruction.
