I see the old PHB Ranger Companion text in the class features section, but I don't see how to change it to the primal companion or to get the stat block included. Did you figure this out?
I know its a late reply but it should be in the optional features section as a replacement. I however do not know if the stat blocks are available.
I hope this helped.
Thanks! I didn't realize I had to enable the optional features on the home tab before the optional feature manager will show up on the class tab. When you said optional features it dawned on me :).
When will the stat blocks be added? I don't see an option to add them in the "extra" tab, nor do I see them when you click on the primal companion in the "Features" section.
The stat blocks are there. You have to enable "Optional Features" on the first page of character creation. Then select the Beast Master subclass. Then enable Primal Companion in Optional Features.
Now in the Class Features tab of the character customizer (not your character sheet) you should see "Primal Companion". Click on that and you'll have a drop-down option to select which version you want to use. Select Land, Air, or Sea and it should show up in the Actions section on your character sheet.
If you click the feature you will be able to view the entire stat block. It's a little clunky but it works.
I believe they said that the Extras tab does not yet support creatures with scalable stats, like all the ones for the Primal Companion that are "X + Prof Bonus". The Drakewarden's companion is in the same boat. It'd be nice to have them in the Extras tab, but at least they're available for reference.
Just checking, but it's almost 2 years later and I still can't see how to add a Primal Companion to the Extras tab. Is it still not implemented, or is there some other method?

This post is probably still the best answer.
There are some options for creating homebrew beast statblocks but I don't use those tools.
My personal belief is they don't want to prioritize such controversial classes because some people will never be satisfied and those that are won't complain. In particular it is still unclear whether phb beasts are proficient in all saves or can attune items to change such features. Wotc won't quantify it (and other questions) so they will not be able to fully automate the sheets. So they don't try.
Does anyone know how to enter a primal companion, or enter the stats of the selected companion, into the D&D Beyond character sheets?
Do you own a digital copy of TCOE?
I do. I should probably delete this thread, it is in the feature selection section and not in the companion section.

I think having it available in both places would be a good idea for the dndbeyond team to implement.

I also believe they started that because of the debate on how the PB interacts with the handbook beast companion’s saving throws and skills.
I know you posted this awhile back, but wanted to thank you for your effort. It really helped me!
