Bonus action use of beast vs. Hunter's mark for level 7 beast master ranger (2024 rules)

I currently have a level 7 beast master ranger and am curious about whether Hunter's Mark can be used in the same turn as commanding a companion. Casting Hunter's Mark is a bonus action, but I keep forgetting if it is still a bonus action after being cast. The 2024 description is copy-pasted below. In a turn, could I still apply Hunter's Mark damage to an attack (if previously cast and maintained as a concentration spell) while using bonus action for my beast? Both or just one?

"Level 7: Exceptional Training
When you take a Bonus Action to command your Primal Companion beast to take an action, you can also command it to take the Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action using its Bonus Action. In addition, whenever it hits with an attack roll and deals damage, it can deal your choice of Force damage or its normal damage type."

You use a bonus action to cast Hunter's Mark, but once cast it does not require you to use any kind of action to actually use its effect. If it did, it would say so in the spell's description.

So, you can't cast it and command your companion in the same turn, but you can receive its damage bonus on one or more attacks and command your companion in the same turn.

(If you did have to use a bonus action to activate it every turn, it would be borderline useless.)

You can indeed cast Huntersmark and have your Beast attack as one of your two attacks during the attack action. If you are duelweilding the Beast again can use one of your attack actions and if your other attack was a nick weapon you can attack with the off hand weapon as a bonus action that takes place during your attack action. Note that extra nick action/bonus must be an attack made with a light property weapon.
